    Nigeria Supply Chain Management Specialist

    About The Role

    The Nigeria Supply Chain team brings high-quality, life-changing inputs to our farmers at most efficient cost possible. The macro-economic context and farmers reality is more dynamic than ever before. This requires our OAF supply chain to be more agile with evolving processes, applying supply chain management and industry best practices to the unique context of last mile farmer deliveries in rural areas.

    We are seeking a Supply Chain Specialist to manage the processes and the team that support deliveries for all our programs (Core, Rural Retails and Trees) and different other projects such as market access/buyback.

    • Department: Systems and Operations
    • You will manage 3-5 people
    • You will report directly to Systems Lead

    Responsibilities

    Supply Chain Function Management:

    • You will identify process improvements and digitization/ efficiency measures
    • You will set-up annual Unit's Objective and Key Results (OKRs) and implement with the team.
    • You will Accomplish the Unit’s OKRs and KPIs
    • You will ensure budgeting and hiring of staff resources in lieu of program expansion.

    Warehouse Operations:

    • You will ensure smooth warehouse operations by providing necessary resources and staffing
    • You will ensure planning and onboarding of WH casuals
    • You will conduct regular internal warehouse audits/checks.
    • You will ensure 5S standard compliance of >90%.
    • You will ensure program-adequate and cost-efficient warehouse space and positioning across the country

    Inventory Management:

    • Ensure weekly and monthly inventory counts in all warehouses.
    • Ensure accurate reporting of monthly inventory reconciliations
    • Manage monthly reconciliations and variance analysis.
    • Follow the global loss protocol and escalation matrix in case of any suspected theft, fraud, unexpected disappearance of inputs, or tampering with inputs.
    • Ensure efficient space use in warehouses and QC process is followed.

    Delivery Management:

    • Manage deliveries across for all country program: Core, Retail and Trees - in close collaboration with the Field Operations Department. This includes:
    • Ensure delivery KPIs, especially the max 0.1% shrink target, are met.
    • Develop and implement distribution schedules in a cost-efficient way
    • Liaise with logistics vendors, team members, departments and other OAF staff to ensure accurate delivery of inputs.
    • Negotiate affordable rates and draft conditions of service with the transport vendors
    • Ensure accurate data management before, during and after deliveries
    • Liaise with the Product Innovations team to sample inputs for testing
    • Conduct regular postmortems of logistics projects and deliveries and derive required improvement actions

    Demand Forecasting :

    • Develop and select appropriate forecasting models based on the nature of our data and the business context
    • Implement and run selected model to optimize inventory, allocate resources and enhance overall operational planning.

    Qualifications

    • 3+ years experience supply chain management and implementation

    Agroforestry Manager

    About the Role

    • As Agroforestry Manager, you will help address three key challenges facing smallholder farmers - extreme poverty, climate change, and biodiversity loss - through agroforestry and Forest Landscape Restoration (FLR). 
    • Specifically, you will strengthen and improve existing programs that serve more than 2 million farm families and produce over 70 million seedlings per year through a network of over 2,500 local nurseries. 
    • You will also have ample opportunity to improve new approaches to generate positive change for farm families and the environment, working on a variety of complex challenges including strengthening our supply of quality tree seedlings, improving trainings for nursery managers, and diversifying our species offerings.
    • The Agroforestry Manager will support a dedicated international agroforestry team and ten embedded agroforestry teams - one in each country program - and will report to the Agroforestry Director.

    Responsibilities

    • Support agroforestry program leads in 10 programs to meet their operational targets to achieve One Acre Fund’s vision of one billion trees planted by 2030., including seedling production, adoption, survival, and species diversification. This may also involve managing via dotted line some of the smaller program leads.
    • Develop and maintain performance tracking systemsthat help program leads understand and improve their performance, including scale, impact, ecosystem service indicators, and more.
    • Foster agroforestry team cohesion and shared learningthrough pull-ups with field teams and the Agroforestry Director, team-building and improved knowledge management and dissemination
    • Scope, pilot, and scale new investments to improve program impact and reach.For example, you could launch initiatives to improve seedling survival rates, implement new tech solutions that improve programming, or identify solutions to seedling supply challenges.
    • Facilitate external partnerships. Help communicate agroforestry program results and plans to external partners through data, visuals, and narratives.

    Qualifications
    Across all roles, these are the general qualifications we look for For this role specifically, you will have:
    Experience in Agroforestry and Landscape Restoration:

    • University or advanced degree in agroforestry, ecology, restoration, or related fields
    • 3+ years of leadership and demonstrated results in agroforestry, restoration, or related domains in Sub-Saharan Africa.
    • Familiarity with nature-based carbon projects, including implementation and certification is an additional advantage

    External Relationships:

    • Exceptional written and verbal communication to engage a range of audiences, including rural farmers, internal staff, external partners, and organizational leadership
    • History of collaboration with primary actors in the forestry and landscape restoration sectors, including implementers, technical resources, and policy-makers
    • Experience launching new programs or building successful partnerships

    Management Skills:

    • Experience managing high-level team members and coordinating complex and scalable programs
    • Penchant for data-driven decision-making with structured analysis and fact-based recommendations
    • Experience with multi-year, multi-project budgeting and planning

    Others:

    • Willingness to travel within the region up to 25% of the time
    • English Fluency. Other preferred languages include Swahili, Kinyarwanda, Kirundi, Chichewa, Amharic, or French.
