    Mechanical Engineer

    About the role

    • Ensures the efficient coordination of all mechanical maintenance related execution activities in any designated area in the plant.

    Responsibilities

    • Responsible for the execution of maintenance work carried out on mechanical equipment in the plant with proper feedback to the Sectional Engineer
    • Develop /follow working methods in his field: defines procedures and ensures that they are implemented
    • Ensures proper planning of work and resources with methods and execution of tasks as assigned in CMMS or from Mechanical Maintenance Manager and close out same in SAP

    Electrical Planner (Ogun)

    About the role

    • The Electrical Planner is responsible for assisting with the development of reliability-based maintenance strategy, based on preventive and predictive maintenance, to improve efficiency and productivity.

    Project Manager

    About the Role

    • The Project Manager's role involves assisting the Plant Team lines in identifying potential progress actions and developing long term related studies as well as to take care of new projects (studies and / or implementation of investments).
    • It is also an objective to assist the Plant Team in problem solving.
    • In this role, the incumbent:
      • Assists the Plant Teams in identifying potential progress actions.
      • Have a good understanding of the operation, the internal challenges and the external constraints; be aware of the cement operation and be able to assist in troubleshooting problems; his credibility depends upon his ability to be part of the plant team and to relate with other departments.
      • The long term related studies have to be developed considering directions given by the Plant Manager, updated or in development technologies and modern concepts regarding managerial systems and organizational structures.
      • New projects are an area where the incumbent will have to analyze, in depth, the real needs of the plant and to propose affordable solutions, consulting very closely with future users.
      • This is a support type of function where ideas have to be sold to others, even if modifying significantly the routine.
      • The developed studies may be pursued by an investment or by the implementation of a smaller modification, with the support of contractors or plant employees.
      • The incumbent works with IPMEA in the development of major projects and is the on-site leader, when realizing the investment.
      • Must mitigate short-term needs and long-term strategies in creative solutions, thus helping the Plant Manager in selling unusual or new ideas.
      • Assist in the integration of long term requirements and strategies and to accept new technologies or concepts by those not directly under the supervision or authority of the incumbent.
      • The incumbent must have a good mechanical, electrical and civil engineering knowledge.
      • He must also have a good knowledge of project and cost management.
      • Human skills are required to ensure good relationship with plant personnel and when dealing with contractors.

    Certified Scaffolder

    About the role

    • The Certified Scaffolder is responsible for the safe erection, alteration, inspection, and dismantling of scaffolding structures across the cement plant facility. This role ensures that all scaffolding activities comply with relevant standards (including CISRS, BS EN 12811, and Nigerian Factory Act requirements), providing safe working platforms for maintenance, construction, and shutdown activities.
    • The Certified Scaffolder plays a critical role in protecting workers at height and maintaining structural integrity of temporary access systems.

    Responsibilities

    • Erect, modify, and dismantle tube-and-coupler, system, and modular scaffolding structures in line with approved scaffold design drawings and safe systems of work.
    • Ensure all scaffolding is constructed to the correct load-bearing specification for the task — light duty, general purpose, or heavy duty.
    • Install all necessary safety features including guardrails, toe boards, working platforms, ladders, and debris netting.
    • Dismantle scaffolding safely after completion of work, ensuring all components are accounted for, inspected, and stored correctly.
    • Conduct formal inspections of all erected scaffolding at regular intervals (before first use, every 7 days, and after any event that may affect stability such as high wind, impact, or modification).
    • Apply and maintain scaffold tagging systems (Green/Amber/Red) to communicate scaffold status clearly to all plant personnel.
    • Complete scaffold inspection registers and handover documentation accurately and on time.
    • Identify and immediately escalate any structural defects, unauthorized modifications, or unsafe conditions.
    • Work in strict compliance with Working at Height regulations, permit-to-work systems, and plant HSE requirements at all times.
    • Conduct risk assessments and method statements (RAMS) for all scaffolding activities prior to commencement.
    • Ensure all personnel working on or around scaffolding use appropriate PPE — harnesses, hard hats, safety boots, and gloves.
    • Participate in safety briefings, toolbox talks, and incident investigations as required.
    • Report near-misses, unsafe acts, and incidents promptly through the plant safety reporting system.
    • Inspect all scaffolding components (tubes, couplers, boards, base plates) prior to use and reject any items that are damaged, corroded, or non-compliant.
    • Maintain an accurate inventory of scaffolding materials, ensuring adequate stock levels for planned and shutdown activities.
    • Ensure scaffolding equipment is stored correctly, protected from damage, and regularly audited.
    • Liaise with Maintenance, HSE, and Production teams to plan and schedule scaffolding activities around plant operations and shutdown programmes.
    • Brief scaffold users on safe access, load restrictions, and prohibited modifications before handover.
    • Provide progress updates to supervisors and raise any issues that could affect scaffold availability or safety.

    Education

    • OND / Trade Test or equivalent technical qualification in a relevant Engineering discipline

    Experience:

    • 4–5 years' post-qualification experience in scaffolding within heavy industry (cement, oil & gas, petrochemical, or construction).
    • Demonstrated experience erecting complex scaffolding structures in industrial plant environments, including confined spaces and at significant heights.

    Required skills:

    • In-depth knowledge of scaffolding types: tube-and-coupler, system scaffolding (Ringlock, Kwikstage), and modular systems.
    • Understanding of load calculations, safe working loads, and structural stability principles for scaffolding.
    • Knowledge of relevant scaffolding standards: CISRS, BS EN 12811, and Nigerian HSE/Factory Act requirements.

    About the Role

    • Responsible for routine maintenance of all instruments and automation equipment. Monitor and report spare availability and consumption pattern to avoid nil-stock for all spare parts.

    Process Engineer (Mills)

    About the Role

    • Within the framework of the plant's production objectives and methods, and the quality objectives, this role involves implementing systems/tools/procedures to optimize production, improve processes and quality, introduce better tools, and reduce costs.
    • It also requires leading continuous performance optimisation teams, through involvement in projects or problem solving with the assistance of a more experienced engineer.

    • Continuously analyse equipment/system performance (e.g. specific electrical and thermal energy consumption, refractory consumption) and propose solutions to achieve budget

    Condition Based Monitoring Engineer (Coal Mines)

    About the Role

    • The purpose of this role is to optimise the reliability of physical assets through embedding Condition Monitoring processes and a proactive condition monitoring culture across the plant operations.
    • The role will support the PM manager to improve the overall condition monitoring maturity across the portfolio.
    • This position provides discipline leadership and expertise in condition monitoring and reliability engineering principles, through the development and deployment of appropriate systems, processes, guiding principles, training, and coaching.

    Responsibilities

    • Act as a thought-leader, technical expert and first point of reference for leading practices in condition monitoring.
    • Internal monitoring of standards, best practices and technologies.
    • Maintain update of the relevant sections of the asset reliability Framework as well as standards, guidelines, tactics and specifications
    • Continual improvement strategies and initiatives for condition monitoring arising from best practice monitoring, reliability framework Assessments, assurance activities, investigations and work management, processes performance feedback, service strategy, downtime analysis and RCA/Solve findings.
    • Monitor and review operational performance in condition monitoring and equipment health across the plant
    • Carry out condition monitoring reviews as may be required

    Quality Assurance Chemist (Mfamosing)

    About the role

    • To ensure the testing of all chemical parameters of the raw materials, fuels, intermediate/finished products & contemporary brands according to the Nigerian Industrial Standards.

    Electrical Inspector

    About the role

    • The Electrical Inspector's primary objective is to coordinate and control execution of inspections, analyse all process and auxiliary equipment so that the condition of each piece of equipment can be monitored and maintained at a high level of operating performance.

    Responsibilities

    • The Inspector communicates regularly with the operations personnel to gain information on any problems or concerns they may have about the equipment and the way it is affecting the process.
    • The incumbent also analyses situations to determine whether it is a mechanical, electrical or operating problem and recommends solutions to correctly utilize all resources available.
    • Studies equipment problems and recommends modifications or replacements of it. Investigates repetitive problems and initiates corrective maintenance procedures.
    • Continually informs Production, Process and Maintenance of the operating condition of equipment and advises those responsible when a piece of equipment should be shut down in order to prevent damage to said equipment or injury to any of the plant personnel.
    • The incumbent will ensure compliance with safety practices and procedures, availability of safety equipment and that first aid treatment is provided when required.
    • The incumbent is responsible and should have data pertaining to reliability so that he can analyse, and advise departments on the information needed to perform RCFA (i.e. vibrations, temperatures, hours, causes, Pareto charts etc.)
    • Ensures that there has been a work order entered in CMMS to cover adjustments or repairs to equipment, checks for the proper equipment number, adequate description of the request, appropriate priority code and workshop or plant code.
    • Administers a Thermo graphic Analysis Program for all critical pieces of electrical equipment and reports results to all concerned including recommendations when required.
    • Preparation of the daily work schedule for the PMR tasks in accordance with equipment needs while utilizing CMMS to document and monitor equipment history files.
    • Assist in the planning of systematic overhauls of major equipment.
    • Participate in the Maintenance Supervisor On-Call Program.
    • Record all temperatures, pressures and any relevant information, which may be used for analysis from CCR.
    • The incumbent is also the plant person in charge of the Electrical integrity of the plant’s machinery.
    • Ensure regular participation and engagement of the team for RCA/RCM process as and when required for assign machines performs other duties such as maintaining work records and maintenance repair history logs, attending regular meetings with maintenance engineers.

    Education

    • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.

    Experience:

    • 3 years of work experience in Cement manufacturing.

    Required skills:

    • Technical knowledge of Electrical operations

    Process Engineer (Refractory)

    About the role

    • Within the framework of the plant's production objectives and methods, and the quality objectives, this role involves implementing systems/tools/procedures to optimize production, improve processes and quality, introduce better tools, and reduce costs.
    • It also requires leading continuous performance optimisation teams, through involvement in projects or problem solving with the assistance of a more experienced engineer.

    Responsibilities

    • Continuously analyse equipment/system performance (e.g. specific electrical and thermal energy consumption, refractory consumption) and propose solutions to achieve budget
    • Implement tools and procedures for continuous process improvements
    • Promote the increased use of AFR (Alternative Fuels and Raw Materials), provide comprehensive technical expertise to evaluate AFR with respect to their impact on the process, develop and implement solutions to eliminate/reduce impact of AFR on the process operation
    • Cooperate at design of new systems/equipment and modifications of existing systems/equipment. Conduct economic and operational feasibility studies on proposed modifications and/or additions. Commission and de-bottleneck new installations

    Shift Chemist (Sagamu)

    About the Role

    • Conduct qualitative and quantitative chemical analyses in laboratory for process and quality control in accordance with the quality control plan, health, safety and environmental policies.

    Responsibilities

    • Abide by the 5 Mandatory LafargeHolcim Health and Safety Rules.
    • Guarantee and foster 100% compliance with OH&S, Quality and Environment policies for self and all lab personnel during the shift. Ensure good housekeeping within the quality premises and contribute to plant cleanliness.
    • Advice, liaise, and direct other units and personnel of the lab on the plant quality control to achieve set targets.
    • Analyze raw materials, intermediate and finished products to determine chemical or physical properties, composition, relationships or reactions using spectroscopic and / or gravimetric techniques according to the Quality Control Plan.
    • Ensure that analyses are accurate and precise and planned analyses are completed on time.
    • Analyze and ensure the daily chemical composition of all the additive / corrective in various feeders (HGL, gypsum, iron ore, sand and clinker) and the raw mix. Follow up the stacking pattern and reclaiming of the material at the RMS / CBS / LBS.
    • Taking full responsibility of the mix proportion of additive / correctives, depending on their chemical composition for production dept.
    • Document and analyze test information to determine process or equipment operating efficiency or to diagnose malfunctions.
    • Achieve set quality targets within time and liaise with the CCR Engineers / Shift Leaders to define corrective and preventive actions whenever there is deviation from target set for process and product.
    • Monitoring performance by gathering relevant data and producing statistical reports.
    • Monitor all parameter of QA&C Instruments (XRF, XRD, QCX, Auto samplers, LECO & the Cross Belt Analyzer, etc.)
    • Maintain all laboratory equipment to ensure proper working status and troubleshoot simple malfunctions when needed otherwise follow up with the maintenance dept.
    • Undertake calibration of the XRF / XRD machines when required
    • Routine maintenance and calibration of LECO and Preparation of secondary standard for LECO monitoring.
    • Prepare standard solutions and reagents for laboratory personnel to conduct tests.
    • Direct, coordinate, or advise Assistant Shift Chemist (ASC) and samplers in test procedures for analyzing components or physical properties of materials and ensure that all analyses are performed according to the SOP.

    Required Skills:

    Sample Preparation Technician (Sagamu)

    About the Role

    • To guarantee the prompt collection of representative samples and timely preparation according to the quality control plan and standard operating procedures.

    Responsibilities

    • To be totally compliant with all safety rules, procedures & policies and work safely at all times by using all relevant PPEs for each job.
    • To undertake the sampling / preparation of all raw materials (quarried and received) in strict accordance to the Quality Control Plan.
    • To undertake the sampling of all delivered fuels to the quarry, and the plant to comply with the zero-water tolerance regime.
