The purpose of this role is to optimise the reliability of physical assets through embedding Condition Monitoring processes and a proactive condition monitoring culture across the plant operations.
The role will support the PM manager to improve the overall condition monitoring maturity across the portfolio.
This position provides discipline leadership and expertise in condition monitoring and reliability engineering principles, through the development and deployment of appropriate systems, processes, guiding principles, training, and coaching.
Responsibilities
Act as a thought-leader, technical expert and first point of reference for leading practices in condition monitoring.
Internal monitoring of standards, best practices and technologies.
Maintain update of the relevant sections of the asset reliability Framework as well as standards, guidelines, tactics and specifications
Continual improvement strategies and initiatives for condition monitoring arising from best practice monitoring, reliability framework Assessments, assurance activities, investigations and work management, processes performance feedback, service strategy, downtime analysis and RCA/Solve findings.
Monitor and review operational performance in condition monitoring and equipment health across the plant
Carry out condition monitoring reviews as may be required
Build operational competence for condition monitoring by; providing high level advice, support and coaching
Developing and making available best practice processes, templates etc. aligned to group standards
Development and delivery of training
Support the business to proactively use condition monitoring data (e.g. outcomes of PM/ PDM processes) to drive continual improvement plans and a reliability centred culture
Support operations to investigate and close any gaps in condition monitoring culture or processes identified in reviews or the reliability Framework assessment.
Support gap analysis and identification/ validation of opportunities and development of plans to close gaps. Provide direct support to implement the plan as per an agreed schedule.
Support the defect elimination function through condition monitoring and equipment health analysis /investigation of highly complex critical /persistent equipment issues as well as risk studies & investment requirement
Support development of integrated systems and training to effectively implement and sustain performance in condition monitoring
Evaluate and advise on the skills status, skills development and resourcing at the plant with respect to condition monitoring
Provide technical evaluation & due diligence – projects, Investment Proposals etc.
Support condition monitoring value identification and knowledge sharing across the team
Visibly promote a positive safety culture and incorporate the current and future requirements for these into all projects.
Requirements
Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Experience:
5 years of work experience in Cement manufacturing, heavy industry.
