    Logistics Operations Manager

    Job Function:

    • The role is responsible for leading the strategic direction and operational performance of MDS, aligning with the overall business strategy to drive business expansion and revenue growth.
    • The role includes overseeing commercial activities, project execution, and fostering new revenue opportunities, while providing key metrics to position the company for future growth.
    • The ultimate goal is to drive revenue generation and ensure the achievement of all financial business objectives.

    Key Accountabilities:

    Strategy Formulation & Implementation

    • Lead in translating broad business guidelines from the ETT into specific operational plans and lead all business units in the execution of strategic projects, directives and objectives as dictated by client needs, sector developments and directives from executive management
    • Develop, review, and implement operation’s strategy, ensuring the strategic objectives are well understood and executed by team members
    • Provide strategic direction for organization’s critical start-up and growth phases to achieve successful delivery of projects/strategic initiatives and exceed performance targets for eastern distribution.
    • Transaction Adviser/Project Lead for all logistics/distribution operations in the entire eastern region across the full spectrum of strategic planning, integration, deployment and performance review.
    • Midwifed the strategic partnership between strategic partners to improve service delivery performance and increase customer satisfaction.
    • Effectively drive people development and manage the team to provide exceptional service
    • Develop and keep up to date go to market strategy, led the development, negotiation and launch of new project.

    Transport & Logistics Management

    • Ensure that the transport and logistics functions (as well as associated business) run effectively and efficiently so that each business unit delivers strategic goals, developmental plan and operational objectives.
    • Implement, maintain and manage an effective system of controls throughout the region, covering non-financial as well as financial controls in order to optimize opportunities, outputs and revenue.

    Business Development

    • Develop and manage existing and new commercial opportunities for organization.
    • Perform comprehensive evaluation to determine market potential based on regulatory, financial, and go-to-market factors, create the roadmap, garner executive support and integrate new market initiatives into the company operating plan.
    • Perform regular market and business intelligence to identify opportunities for incremental revenue opportunities for the company with existing client base (B2C) and across the industry (B2B).

    Business Reporting

    • Provide weekly/monthly/quarterly reports on business performance in order to optimize opportunities, outputs and revenue.
    • Provide valuable analysis and insightful review of the business results and market dynamics; review of value drivers and performance reports in relation to business plans/target.

    Qualifications:

    • A relevant post graduate qualification.
    • Certified in Logistics, Transportation & Distribution (CLTD).
    • Certified in Transportation & Logistics (CILT).
    • Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP).
    • Possession of Project Management certification (PRINCE2, PMI etc).
    • Membership of recognized professional body.

    Skills and Experience:

    • Minimum of 7 years’ experience with the last three years in a strategic management role.
    • Transport and Logistics experience.
    • Warehouse experience.
    • Freight Forwarding experience.
    • Manufacturing experience.
    • Collaboration skills.
    • Relationship building skills.
    • Communication and interpersonal skills.

    Senior Manager: Health, Safety, Security and Environment

    Job Function:

    • To oversee and implement a comprehensive Health, Safety, Security and Environment strategies to ensure adherence to industry standards, safeguarding employees, goods, and the environment across transportation and warehouse operations.

    Key Accountabilities:

    • Oversee and Coordinate the safety and health governance processes.
    • Ensure the establishment of a safe work environment to protect the health of staff and visitors.
    • Management and handling of hazardous elements like chemical, physical, radiological, and biological in the workplace.
    • Develop, implement and monitor a health and safety policy, programs and plans.
    • Prepare budget proposals for the operation of health and safety measures, programs and other requirements.
    • Create and implement strategies for a greener workplace.
    • Establish a database tracking system designed to oversee the execution of corrective measures, encompassing audits, HSE cases, incidents, drills, potential incidents, and HSE meetings.
    • Ensure timely execution of audit plans, both internal and external, with the closure of corrective action plans (RAPs) from external audits within stipulated timelines.
    • Ensure compliance with all health, safety and security regulations and policies.
    • Ensure that adequate and effective risk assessments are undertaken and regularly reviewed.

    Qualifications:

    • A first degree from a recognized institution or a relevant postgraduate business qualification (MBA or equivalent tertiary qualification).
    • ISO 9001:2015 Lead Auditor Certificate.
    • NEBOSH
    • IOSH
    • OHSAS 18001

    Skills and Experience:

    • Up to 10 years relevant experience in a similar environment with at least 8 years business leadership or specialist experience.
    • Demonstrable managerial skills with good understanding of cross functional relationships.
    • Leadership and Teamwork skills.
    • Organizational and time management skills.
