    Librarian and Archivist

    Job Description

    • We are seeking a passionate, creative, and tech-savvy Librarian and Archivist to join our team.
    • This unique role combines library management, event coordination, graphic design, and data archiving to support our school’s academic and cultural programs.

    Job Summary

    • The School Librarian and Archivist will manage the daily operations of the school library, champion literacy initiatives, and lead library-related events.
    • This role also involves maintaining the school’s digital and physical archives, designing graphics for events and communication, and assisting with academic reporting.
    • The ideal candidate will be organized, enthusiastic about books, skilled in digital design, and excited to contribute to a vibrant learning community.

    Key Responsibilities
    Library & Literacy Development:

    • Manage daily library operations, including cataloging, circulation, and creating a welcoming reading environment.
    • Source and recommend new books to enrich the library collection.
    • Coordinate literacy programs such as reading challenges, storytelling sessions, and World Book Day activities.
    • Assist students and staff with accessing library resources and conducting research.

    Event Organization & Execution:

    • Plan and execute engaging library events, including book fairs, author visits, and themed literacy weeks.
    • Collaborate with the school's events team to support broader school programs.
    • Handle event logistics to ensure seamless delivery and high participation.

    Data Archiving & Records Management:

    • Maintain accurate archives of school events and milestones.
    • Organize and upload photographs and digital files from school activities.
    • Provide verified data and information when required.

    Graphic Design & Media Support:

    • Design flyers, posters, and promotional materials for library and school-wide events.
    • Create engaging content for both print and digital communication.
    • Assist with updates to the school's website and social media channels relating to library and event activities.

    Academic Communication & Reporting:

    • Assist with the preparation and distribution of biweekly academic indices and student reports.
    • Support efforts to track student library engagement and participation in literacy programs.

    Qualifications & Skills

    • Bachelor's Degree in Library Science, Information Management, Education, or a related field.
    • Experience working in a school or educational setting is an advantage.
    • Strong organizational and communication skills.
    • Proficiency in graphic design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite).
    • Interest in promoting reading, learning, and creativity.
    • Familiarity with cloud storage and basic data management.
