    Legal Counsel

    Requirements

    • Bachelor's Degree in Law (LL.B) and qualification to practice law in Nigeria.
    • Minimum of 3–4 years' post-call experience, with in-depth knowledge of property, real estate, and commercial law.
    • Strong knowledge of Nigerian property law, land acquisition processes, and real estate regulations.
    • Experience in title verification, perfection of title documents, and legal due diligence.
    • Excellent legal drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills.
    • Strong attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Conduct legal due diligence on properties and land transactions.
    • Review, draft, and negotiate contracts, agreements, deeds, and other legal documents.
    • Verify land titles and ensure the authenticity of property documentation.
    • Liaise with government agencies, regulatory authorities, and external legal practitioners.
    • Ensure compliance with applicable real estate laws, regulations, and company policies.
    • Manage land documentation, title perfection, and property registration processes.
    • Provide legal advice on company transactions and operational matters.
    • Identify and mitigate legal risks associated with property acquisitions and sales.
    • Maintain accurate records of legal documents and transactions.
    • Represent the company in legal matters and dispute resolution processes where necessary.
