    Legal Associate (Intermediate Level)

    Job Description

    • This role requires significant experience and breadth of knowledge in litigation practice, Our client is seeking a candidate who will provide sound legal advice, diligently manage cases through the litigation process, and represent clients to achieve favourable outcomes. 
    • Responsibilities also include advising on technical, strategic, and procedural aspects across a broad spectrum of legal and commercial matters, drafting agreements, and engaging in negotiations.

    Responsibilities
    Negotiation and Review of Agreements:

    • Draft, negotiate, and finalize terms and conditions for various agreements, including service agreements, financing agreements, supply agreements, leases, joint venture agreements, and non-disclosure agreements.
    • Review and interpret agreements, policies, and procedures to ensure legality, enforceability, and compliance.

    Litigation:

    • Review judicial and arbitral processes and develop case strategies.
    • Draft requisite court documents and manage case plans in collaboration with superiors and clients.
    • Prepare witnesses for trial, file witness depositions, and conduct pre-trial conferences.
    • Oversee cases through enforcement, ensuring adherence to court timelines.
    • Negotiate settlements and payment plans during the litigation process.

    Legal Advisory Services and Support:

    • Conduct legal research, draft opinions, and provide commercial advice on shareholder agreements, board resolutions, and regulatory compliance.
    • Monitor legislative changes and their potential impacts on clients.

    Debt Recovery:

    • Trace debtors using appropriate techniques and negotiate payment terms.* Maintain regular updates and progress reports on debt recovery activities.
    • Comply with the Rules of Professional Conduct and other industry regulations.

    Business Development:

    • Engage in marketing and networking events to promote the firm’s services.
    • Identify and pursue new business opportunities.

    Personal Development:

    • Pursue continuous professional development through training, networking, and self-directed learning.
    • Stay updated on legal trends, regulatory changes, and industry advancements.

    Requirements

    • Minimum grade of 2:1.
    • Working Conditions: Full-time position with working hours from Monday to Friday, 9:00 am to 6:00 pm.

    Business Manager (with experience in a Law Firm)

    Job Summary

    • The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the firm’s operations, driving business growth, optimizing financial performance, and enhancing client relations.

    Key Responsibilities
    Business Operations & Strategy:

    • Develop and execute business strategies to improve efficiency and profitability.
    • Oversee daily administrative and operational functions, ensuring smooth law firm operations.
    • Identify opportunities for growth, process improvement, and innovation within the firm.
    • Develop performance metrics and operational policies to enhance efficiency.
    • Ensure compliance with legal industry regulations and firm policies.

    Financial Management:

    • Manage the firm’s financial operations, including budgeting, expense control, and financial forecasting.
    • Oversee billing, collections, and financial reporting to ensure profitability.
    • Work closely with accountants and financial consultants to manage tax and compliance matters.
    • Monitor revenue streams and implement strategies to increase firm profitability.

    Client Relationship Management:

    • Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective clients.
    • Identify opportunities to expand the firm’s client base and increase client retention.
    • Oversee client care programs, ensuring excellent client satisfaction and service delivery.
    • Collaborate with lawyers and partners to enhance client engagement strategies.

    Business Development & Marketing:

    • Implement marketing and branding initiatives to improve the firm’s visibility and market position.
    • Develop and manage business development strategies to attract new clients and expand legal services.
    • Supervise the preparation of proposals, RFPs, and pitch materials.
    • Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and market opportunities to inform strategic decisions.
    • Represent the firm at networking events, conferences, and industry meetings.

    Human Resource Management:

    • Oversee HR functions, including recruitment, staff development, performance evaluation, and retention strategies.
    • Develop and implement training programs to enhance the skills and productivity of staff.
    • Foster a positive work culture that promotes collaboration, professionalism, and growth.

    Qualifications and Skills

    • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Law, Finance, or a related field.
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in business management, operations, or administration, preferably in a law firm.
    • Strong understanding of legal business operations, financial management, and compliance.
    • Proven track record in business development and client relationship management.
    • Excellent leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
    • Strong financial acumen with experience in budgeting and revenue growth.
    • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and legal practice management software.
    • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
