    Registrar

    Location: Gashua, Yobe

    The Office

    • The Registrar is the Chief Administrative Officer of the University and responsible to the Vice Chancellor for day to day administrative work of the University.
    • He shall be the Secretary of the Governing Counsel, the Senate Convocation and Congregation of the University With such diverse scope of responsibility, the registrar is critical to the overall management of the University
    • The successful candidate will be required among other things, to train and give professional leadership to all administration staff so as to ensure efficient and effective administrative performance.

    Qualifications
    A Candidate for the post must:

    • Possess at least a Second-Class (Honours) Lower Degree in Social Sciences or Humanities from a recognized University,
    • Be proficient in IT and be current in deploying it at the level required for efficient job performance
    • Be a member of relevant professional bodies g NIM, IPMN ANUPA CIA AMN
    • Possession of Higher Degree in relevant subject will be an added advantage.

    Experience:

    • Candidate must have at least fifteen (15) years post-qualification experience in University administration or twenty (20) years in other institutions of higher learning
    • The applicant must be a Deputy Registrar in a recognized University for at least five (5) years.

    Age:

    • Candidate must not be older than sixty (60) years at the date of assumption of duty on appointment. He should also be of sound health

    Attributes:

    • The applicant should be an excellent manager of human resources and a team player.
    • He/she must be of sound judgment, pleasant disposition and proven integrity.
    • The position requires a person with good leadership qualities and public relations

    Tenure and Conditions of Service

    • The appointment is for a single term of five (5) years only Salary and other conditions of service including privileges and entitlements shall be as approved for Registrars of Federal Universities by the Federal Government of Nigeria and as may be modified from time to time by competent authorities.

    Bursar

    Location: Gashua, Yobe

    Overview

    • The Bursar is a Principal Officer and is the Chief Financial Officer of the University, responsible to the Vice - Chancellor for day-to-day financial administration and the control of the financial affairs of the University
    • He/She should provide the University Management with appropriate advice and support for all the institution's financial transactions including investments

    The Responsibilities
    The Candidate for the post should have the capacity of performing the following responsibilities efficiently and effectively:

    • As the Bursar, play a critical role in the attainment of the objectives of the University and the implementation of its Vision and Mission;
    • Demonstrable integrity, transparency and abiding by the Rule of Law,
    • Dynamic in the running of Bursary through the appropriate deployment of ICT, elimination of unnecessary bottlenecks and timely accomplishment of assigned duties
    • Prudence in the face of inadequacy and the ability to advice the Vice-Chancellor on wise strategies for generating revenue; and
    • Candidate must be in good health and not exceed the gazette retirement age before the end of the five-year tenure.

    Qualifications & Experience

    • A Candidate for the post must possess at least a Second-Class (Honours) Lower Degree in Accounting from a recognized University be a member of relevant professional bodies eg.ICAN ANAN, ACCA, CPA, ICMA, ACA, CNA, and be proficient in IT and be current in deploying it at the level required for efficientjob performance
    • Candidate must have a minimum of fifteen (15) years post-qualification experience in a University or twenty (20) years in other institutions of higher learning.

    University Librarian

    Location: Gashua, Yobe

    Job Description

    • The University Librarian shall be responsible to the Vice-Chancellor for the overall administration of the University Library, its branches and extension and for providing library services for entire University community.

    The Person

    • The University Librarian is a Principal Officer and is the head of the University's Library.
    • Candidate for the post should be visionary and have the ability to provide good leadership
    • Must possess proven integrity and demonstrate transparency in private and public life
    • Must be able to command the respect and loyalty of staff of the University

    Qualifications
    Candidates for this post should:

    • Be professionally qualified and be practicing Librarian
    • Possess at least Second Class (Honours) Lower Degree and PhD in Library and Information Science from a recognized University, with at least fifteen (15) years relevant experience, ten (10) of which must be in a University system or twenty (20) years in other institutions of higher learning.
    • Have contributed to knowledge through research and publications in reputable journals, as well as possess proven records of sound administrative leadership: dissemination of knowledge through academic and professional activities
    • Have a strong evidence of contributions to library and information field through research and publications in research journals be registered member of the Library Registration Council of Nigeria (LRCN):
    • Be computer literate and proficient in relevant computer applications.

    Salary and Condition of Services
    Salary and conditions of service of the University Librarian shall be as obtainable in Federal
    Universities in Nigeria

    Director of Works and Physical Planning

    Location: Gashua, Yobe

    Job Description

    • The Director of Works and Physical Planning is responsible to the Vice Chancellor for the physical development of the University, is responsible for the coordination and supervision of physical development projects;
    • Ensures quality and standard structures in the University through proper supervision, advice and liaison with relevant bodies involved in the construction of all structures of the University.

    The Person

    • The Director must be a person of proven integrity and demonstrate transparency in public and private life as well as command the respect and loyalty of staff of the University.
    • He/she must also be receptive to new ideas and is willing to translate them into new projects in line with phased physical development plans of the University.

    Qualifications
    Candidates for this post should:

    • Possess a good honours Degree from recognized University in Building Engineering, Civil Engineering, Quantity Survey, or related fields from a recognized University with not less than Fifteen (15) years cognate experience, eight (8) years of which must in the University system
    • The applicant must be on the rank of Deputy Director in a recognized University for a minimum of five (5) years.
    • Be registered with the relevant professional body such as ARCON, COREN QSRBN, CORBON, etc.
    • Be computer literate and proficient in relevant computer applications.

    Salary
    The salary attached to this position is CONTISS 15. Other benefits to the holder of the office are as stipulated in the University's conditions of service.
