    Human Resource Manager

    Requirements

    • Enhances the organization’s human resources by planning, implementing, and evaluating employee relations and human resources policies, programs, and practices.
    • Maintains the work structure by updating job requirements and job descriptions for all positions.
    • Supports organization staff by establishing a recruiting, testing, and interviewing program; counseling managers on candidate selection; conducting and analyzing exit interviews; and recommending changes.
    • Prepares employees for assignments by establishing and conducting orientation and training programs.
    • Manages a pay plan by conducting periodic pay surveys; scheduling and conducting job evaluations; preparing pay budgets; monitoring and scheduling individual pay actions; and recommending, planning, and implementing pay structure revisions.
    • Ensures planning, monitoring, and appraisal of employee work results by training managers to coach and discipline employees; scheduling management conferences with employees; hearing and resolving employee grievances; and counseling employees and supervisors.
    • Implements employee benefits programs and informs employees of benefits by studying and assessing benefit needs and trends; recommending benefit programs to management; directing the processing of benefit claims; obtaining and evaluating benefit contract bids; awarding benefit contracts; and designing and conducting educational programs on benefit programs.

    Roles

    • Leadership/Supervisory Role: The Head of Accounting first and foremost plays a leadership role where he leads both the accounting and tax accounting departments. In his leadership role, the Head of Accounting supervises end-of-period processes and supports the analysis of the periodical business performance, budgets, and forecasts.
    • Policy Formation: The Head of Accounting also plays a leading role in creating and enhancing financial policies and procedures across the accounting department as well as the wider Finance department. He ensures that there is consistency in procedures and policies across the accounting department and that these policies are appropriately set for the achievement of the Accountinbusiness’s overall goals and objectives.
    • Documentation & Reporting: The Head of Accounting also leads the department in the documentation of all financial books and records. He also prepares reports in reflection of the revenue quarterly/annual processes, which he delivers directly to the Chief Finance Officer.
    • Financial Analysis: The Head of Accounting is also tasked with leading the accounting departments in the preparation of accounts and conducting quarterly/annual auditing and the final preparation of accounts. The Head of Accounting leads the Accounting department in the preparation and monitoring the business’s annual budgets and liaises with external auditors to drive ad hoc projects that will improve process efficiency.
    • Collaboration and Support: The role of the Head of Accounting is not an independent role and, as such he collaborates with various internal and external personnel in the execution of his functions.
    • Research/Knowledge/Opportunity: The Head of Accounting takes initiative in ensuring departmental compliance with state tax requirements as well as with accepted accounting principles.
    • The Head of Accounting liaises with senior finance department personnel in deciding on processes, and procedures to apply in the department and across the entire business

    IT Engineer

    Duties

    IT Engineers manage organizations’ computer systems, including software, hardware and networks. They may be responsible for designing, installing, and supporting the entire system or may specialize in one area of the computer system, such as security infrastructure or telecommunications.

    IT Engineers work as part of an IT team and may report to an IT manager, but the majority of their work is completed on their own.

    Identify and Resolve System Issues

    IT Engineers are responsible for studying their employer’s current computer system, identifying areas that need improvements or overhauls and implementing these changes. They will need to be skilled in assessment techniques and have the ability to design and install any necessary upgrades to the system.

    Develop Systems

    IT Engineers are hired to create an IT or computer system specific to their employer’s needs. This often entails some programming and scripting knowledge, as well as planning, configuring, testing and monitoring new systems.

    Document Work

    Documenting work is a very important part of the IT Engineer’s job. They must document system configurations, updates they make to a system and any new procedures or policies created in their work. Their documentation is used by other IT staff or management to see what changes or creations have been made to their systems.

    Manage Projects

    IT Engineers are often called upon to act as a project manager. They often oversee IT staff and coordinate with vendors and internal users when implementing a new system. They may be required to setup meetings, present information and order supplies and equipment when working on a project.
