Job Description

• The Bursar is a Principal Officer and Chief Financial Officer of the College.
• He/She is responsible to the Provost for the day-to-day administration and control of the financial affairs of the Institution.

Specific Duties
Among others, some specific duties of the Bursar include:

• Being resourceful and conversant with current Federal Government Financial rules and regulations.
• Planning, organizing, coordinating and executing the financial affairs of the College in accordance with the Government Financial Regulations, Treasury Circulars and the Governing Council decisions/directives under sound financial discipline and management.
• Maintaining proper books of accounts and financial records on income and expenditure, as well as assets and liabilities of the College.
• Advising the Provost on all College financial matters.
• Providing regular and special reports to the Governing Council on the College Financial matters.
• Coordinating the preparation, submission and defense of the College Personnel, Overhead and Capital Budget estimates.
• Maintaining an up to date record of the Federal Government Financial Regulations, directives and circulars.

Qualifications

• Candidate must possess a good honours Degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) or its equivalents in Accountancy or Finance, from a recognized Institution of Higher Learning.
• Candidate must possess a relevant Master's Degree from a recognized Institution of higher learning with at least 18 years of cognate experience.
• Possession of Doctoral Degree is an added advantage. Candidate must be a member of recognized Professional Body in relevant field.
• Must have been a Deputy Bursar on CONTEDISS 15.
• Evidence of a continuous Mandatory Professional Development.
• Proficiency in Information and Communication Technology (ICT).
• Candidate must not be above the age of Fifty-Nine (59) years at the time of taking up the appointment.

Salary

• Consolidated Salary for Federal Colleges of Education will apply.

• Candidate will be entitled to the privileges and benefits specified in the terms and Conditions of Service as contained in the current 2015 Revised Schemes and Conditions of Service for Federal Colleges of Education in Nigeria.

Duration of Tenure:

• The tenure for the appointment is for a single tenure of Five (5) years from the day of appointment.

Job Description

• The College Librarian is a Principal Officer of the College who is responsible to the Provost for the overall administration and coordination of the College Library, its branches in the Schools and Departments as well as providing services for the entire College Community.

Responsibilities

• Providing overall Library Policy, Personnel contacts and liaising with departments on book requirements;
• Keeping tab with global best practice on periodicals, journals, books, and publications relevant to the courses offered in the College as well as professional interests of the College Community;
• Maintaining a database of reputable book vendors for recent and up to date editions of books (both hard and/or electronic versions)
• Preparation of Library Budgets.
• Engaging in matters of common interest.
• Responsible to the Provost for the smooth running of the Library of the College.

Qualification and Experience

• Candidate for the post of College Librarian should not be below the rank of Deputy College Librarian for a period of not less than Five (5) years in a College of Education system and must possess the following requirements:
  • A good Bachelor's Degree with Master's in Library Science (MLS) from a recognised institution of higher learning with at least 15 years cognate experience and registration with Professional Library body or a Ph.D. in Library and Information Science with at least 12 years cognate work experience and evidence of registration with Professional Library body.
  • Proficiency in Information and Communication Technology (ICT).
  • Candidate must present evidence of sound Human Relations, Professional Competence, Industrial Integrity, and Efficient Management of Human and Material Resources.
  • Candidate must not be above the age of Fifty-Nine (59) years at the time of taking up the appointment.
  • Candidate must possess Relevant Scholarly Publications in Journals and Textbooks equivalent to that of a Chief Lecturer.
  • Candidate must be Chief Librarian or Deputy College Librarian for a period of not less than five (5) years in a College of Education system.
