    Sous Chef

    Role Description: 

    • We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join the South Kitchen & Lounge team in a full-time, on-site capacity at our Ibadan and Abeokuta location. The Sous Chef will support the Head Chef in managing kitchen operations, supervising staff, ensuring food quality, and maintaining food safety standards. This role requires strong leadership, culinary expertise, and the ability to coordinate kitchen activities efficiently during service hours.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Assist the Head Chef in menu planning, food preparation, and kitchen supervision
    • Ensure consistent quality and presentation of all dishes
    • Oversee kitchen staff, delegate tasks, and provide training where necessary
    • Monitor stock levels, order supplies, and reduce food wastage
    • Enforce proper hygiene, sanitation, and safety procedures across all kitchen activities
    • Collaborate with management to improve kitchen efficiency and customer satisfaction
    • Step in to lead the kitchen during the Head Chef’s absence

    Qualifications:

    • Proven experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar senior culinary role
    • Strong knowledge of cooking techniques, kitchen operations, and food presentation
    • Ability to lead and motivate kitchen staff
    • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
    • Thorough understanding of food safety, hygiene, and kitchen sanitation standards
    • Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet operational timelines
    • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays
    • Culinary certification or equivalent professional qualification is an advantage

    Cashier

    • South Kitchen & Lounge is recruiting Cashiers for full-time, on-site positions at our Ibadan and Abeokuta location.
    • The Cashiers will be responsible for processing customer transactions accurately, maintaining proper records, and ensuring a smooth and professional payment experience for guests.
    • This role requires strong customer service skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Process customer orders and payments accurately (cash, POS, transfers)
    • Issue receipts and maintain proper transaction and sales records
    • Assist customers politely and professionally
    • Ensure POS terminals and payment systems function properly and report issues when necessary
    • Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the cashier area
    • Reconcile daily sales and prepare end-of-day reports
    • Support front-of-house operations where required

    Qualifications:

    • Minimum of OND in Accounting, Business Administration, Office Technology & Management, or any related field that provides basic accounting and record-keeping knowledge
    • At least 2-4 years of proven experience as a cashier or in a similar customer-facing role
    • Strong computer literacy and comfort with modern technology systems
    • Proficiency in POS operation and digital payment platforms
    • Excellent numerical accuracy and attention to detail
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
    • Ability to work under pressure and maintain professionalism
    • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays
    • High level of integrity and accountability
