    Operations Head - Fleet

    Job Description

    The Operations Head in Olam Agri will be responsible for managing and optimizing end-to-end logistics operations, ensuring cost-efficient, timely, and reliable movement of goods. The role combines operational leadership with strategic planning to support business growth and service excellence.

    Responsibilities

    This is a dual role for managing Inhouse Fleet Operation for the wheat milling business (the largest for any wheat miller in Africa with plans for doubling this number in the next 3years ) , In addition to this the role also involves being part of the S&OP process and support in monthly volume delivery for the business via 3rd party trucks.

    Fleet Management

    • Deliver fleet KPIs on mileage, revenue/km, utilization, and profitability.
    • Plan fleet capacity, optimize routes, and control fuel and maintenance costs.
    • Ensure vehicle availability, safety, compliance, and driver performance.

    General Manager- Engineering and Projects

    Job Description

    • As a General Manager- Engineering and Projects in Olam Agri, the person is responsible for leading the engineering function across a multi-site wheat milling operation (minimum three plants) or a large, complex single-site facility, ensuring world-class engineering, maintenance, and utilities performance. The role involves developing and implementing comprehensive maintenance best practices for wheat milling operations exceeding 1,500 MTD across multiple facilities, with exposure to pasta manufacturing assets considered an advantage. The incumbent is expected to lead and execute brownfield and greenfield projects, ensure smooth and efficient utilities operations across all plants, and oversee R&M budget planning and control. The GM will drive cost-efficiency initiatives through OEE improvement, maintenance optimization, and power and steam utility cost reduction programs. The role requires extensive expertise in spare parts management within wheat milling engineering, hands-on experience with Buhler, Ugur, and Alapala milling systems, and a deep understanding of end-to-end flour milling operations, including process optimization and reliability engineering. Additionally, the individual will be accountable for CAPEX planning, budgeting, cost control initiatives, and leading high-performing engineering teams to achieve operational excellence, reliability, and continuous improvement across all manufacturing sites.

    Responsibilites

    • Proven ability to lead a large Maintenance team, including: 14+ direct employees / 90+ indirect personnel
    • Demonstrated expertise in managing Spares Inventory and control to ensure efficient and uninterrupted operations.
    • Strong experience in designing and implementing an efficient manning structure for the Engineering function across multiple sites.
    • Proven capability to manage Business Continuity and EBITDA-related CAPEX below 1.5% of Gross Book Value (GBV).
    • Responsible for Repair & Maintenance (R&M) spending and ensuring adherence to approved budget plans.
    • Ability to operate effectively in a leadership role that reports directly to the VP – Engineering & MATS Head.
    • Experience performing the core responsibilities of a GM – Engineering Manager for a large manufacturing operation such as the TCA plant.
    • Proven capability to lead and manage Engineering Leads and plant Engineering teams, with direct reporting relationships across locations.
    • Demonstrated success in developing and implementing an effective maintenance strategy for plants and operations within the Business Unit (BU).
    • Strong experience in CAPEX and OPEX budgeting, including ensuring implementation adherence and budget compliance.
    • Proven track record of leading the design, planning, and implementation of expansion projects within agreed timelines and cost parameters.

    • As Vice President & Profit Center Head , you will lead one of the critical businesses in  Olam Agri’s Wheat Milling & Pasta portfolio, driving operations and growth initiatives across multiple regions. The role focuses on ensuring profitability, market leadership, and innovation while pursuing expansion through organic growth, strategic acquisitions, and related categories such as animal proteins and nutrition.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute the global strategic sales and marketing plan to drive growth in the wheat milling  portfolio, covering segments. Provide strategic direction to the B2B team and the Manufacturing organization , with aim to maximize revenue at an optimal cost
    • Profit & Loss (P&L) Management:Take full ownership of the business unit's P&L, including financial forecasting, budget management, and ensuring profitability across international operations. Bottom line responsibilities: Completing the budgeted commitments on volumes, GC, overheads, interest EBIDTA and PAT
    • Business Development: Identify, evaluate, and pursue new global business opportunities. This includes tracking industry trends, competitor activity, and customer preferences to inform strategic decision-making.
    • Team Leadership: Lead and manage diverse and geographically dispersed global teams, fostering a high-performing culture across functions like sales, marketing, production, nutrition, procurement, quality control, and supply chain.
    • Product Innovation & Management: Initiate and assess new product innovations and ensure the product portfolio meets customer needs and market demands in collaboration with R&D and technical teams.
    • Operational Excellence: Oversee global operations, ensure smooth execution of projects, timely order fulfillment, and compliance with international industry standards and regulations.
