Job Summary

The Database Administrator (DBA) ensures the availability, security, integrity, and optimal performance of MoMoPSB's database platforms that power high-volume, real-time payments. The DBA defines the database strategy, engineers resilient architectures, and executes day-to-day administration to meet business, regulatory, and cost objectives. 

Key Responsibilities 

• Own the multi‑year database roadmap: engine selection, cloud/on‑prem posture, managed services, and standards. 
• Design and govern HA/DR architectures meeting defined SLOs, RPO/RTO for Tier‑0 payment systems. 
• Embed security & compliance by design (PCI DSS, CBN PSB, NDPR, ISO 27001): encryption, segregation, least privilege, logging and retention. 
• Establish observability strategy (SLOs, error budgets, performance baselines, telemetry). 
• Plan capacity and cost: licensing optimization, storage tiering, reservations/commitments. 
• Plan/execute major upgrades and migrations with near‑zero downtime; institute schema versioning (Flyway/Liquibase) in CI/CD. 
• Implement robust backup & recovery strategies including immutable/WORM copies and quarterly restore drills. 
• Engineer performance: indexing, partitioning, query tuning, connection management, and workload management. 
• Harden security: RBAC, PAM/MFA, key management, secrets rotation, audit and access reviews. 
• Enable data integration: CDC/ETL to analytics, fraud systems, and regulatory reporting with data quality controls. 
• Maintain vendor relationships and optimize licenses/support contracts. 
• Provision, configure, and patch databases; manage users/roles; maintain schemas and jobs. 
• Monitor availability, replication lag, locks/deadlocks, storage growth; triage and resolve incidents. 
• Execute backups (full/incremental) and validate restores; maintain offsite/air‑gapped copies. 
• Support releases and change management; review SQL changes and advise on best practices. 
• Maintain runbooks, architecture diagrams, SOPs, and compliance evidence. 

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Information Systems or related field. 
• Relevant certifications are an advantage (e.g., Oracle OCP, Microsoft DP‑300/DP‑900, AWS/Azure database certifications, ITIL). 

Experience

• 3–7 years hands‑on DBA experience in high‑availability, high‑throughput environments (financial services/telco preferred). 
• Track record delivering HA/DR, performance tuning, security hardening, and major version upgrades/migrations. 
• Experience operating in cloud (AWS/Azure) using services such as RDS/Aurora or Azure SQL Managed Instance. 
• Expertise with at least two engines: PostgreSQL, Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL; familiarity with NoSQL (MongoDB/Cassandra) a plus. 
• Proficiency in SQL, PL/pgSQL, T‑SQL, PL/SQL; query optimization, indexing, partitioning. 
• Replication & HA (Always On/AG, Data Guard, Streaming/Logical replication). 
• Backup/Recovery (RMAN, pgBackRest, PITR, snapshot strategies). 
• Security (TLS, TDE, RBAC, tokenization/masking, auditing) and key management (KMS/Key Vault). 
• Observability (pg_stat_statements, AWR, Extended Events, Prometheus/Grafana, CloudWatch/Azure Monitor). 
• Automation with Terraform/Ansible; scripting in Bash/Python; schema migration tools (Liquibase/Flyway).

Job Summary

The Team Lead, Infrastructure Administration and DevOps is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing MoMoPSB’s server, cloud, and DevOps infrastructure to ensure high availability, scalability, security, and compliance. The role oversees hybrid environments, container orchestration, CI/CD automation, and optimized performance across on-premises and cloud platforms. 

Key Responsibilities 

• Define infrastructure and DevOps strategy across hybrid cloud and on‑prem environments.
•  Establish high availability, disaster recovery, and container orchestration frameworks.
•  Drive cloud adoption, Kubernetes implementation, and CI/CD modernization initiatives.
•  Ensure compliance with CBN PSB, PCI DSS, NDPR, ISO standards.
• Lead the planning and execution of server upgrades, virtualization initiatives, and cloud migration activities. 
• Implement enterprise‑grade backup, recovery, and disaster‑recovery (DR) drills across all infrastructure components.

• Oversee server and container platform provisioning, configuration, patching, and image management. 
• Monitor overall infrastructure health, performance, availability, and security compliance. 
• Manage Kubernetes operations including pod lifecycle management, scaling, updates, and performance tuning. 
• Respond to incidents, troubleshoot infrastructure and Kubernetes‑related issues, and ensure timely resolution. 
• Support application teams in onboarding and adopting CI/CD pipelines and Kubernetes environments. 
• Maintain comprehensive documentation, SOPs, compliance evidence, and governance artifacts. 
• Support change management and release processes across infrastructure and platform services.

Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Professional certifications such as AWS, Azure, Kubernetes, and ITIL are an added advantage.

Experience

• Experience: 7+ years managing server with virtualization(VMware, Hyper-V), cloud, DevOps, and container orchestration in high‑availability environments.
• Proven track record in DR planning, security hardening, and performance optimization
• CI/CD pipeline automation (GitLab CI, Azure DevOps, Jenkins). 
• Kubernetes administration (Pods, Deployments, Services, Ingress, Helm). 
• Containerization with Docker and Kubernetes-native tooling.

Division: Information Technology

Mission:

• Develop, document and oversee the life cycle and maintenance of IT infrastructure components, including servers, databases, backup, storage, and systems management components for MTNN in accordance with standard design specifications. 

Description:

• Plan and monitor complex virtual clusters (VMware, Tanzu, Redhat OpenShift, Azure, Oracle Linux KVM) , physical server, database, storage, backup infrastructure to detect anomalies and prevent service disruptions to the greatest degree possible 
• Identify ways to streamline IT Infrastructure architecture documentation and align them to best international practice. 
• Coordinate, manage and conduct research studies around Private and Public Cloud infrastructure, Artificial Intelligence, Infrastructure-as-Code, Hadoop Database, MongoDB, Exchange, Oracle Database, Backup, Microsoft business suites. 
• Leverage ITIL technics to identify potential Infrastructure incidents and provide proactive and reactive solutions to mitigate disruption to services. 
• Assist in maintaining Infrastructure software license compliance across servers (Physical/virtual), database, backup, storage, etc. 
• Maintain an up-to-date inventory report for all IT Infrastructure assets (servers, storage database, backup etc.) 
• Provide knowledge transfer to the IT Operations team by proactively bringing awareness of new IT Infrastructure changes, future roadmap initiatives and provide procedural documentation 
• Analyze IT Infrastructure needs from business units and deliver solutions for an integrated global IT infrastructure environment 
• Lead interactions with partners and service providers to foster strong relationships and troubleshoot major issues, determine adequate support levels, and evaluate new offerings 
• Monitor vendors and build progress until delivery 
• Uses expertise in overall infrastructure architecture to provide enhancements to existing products across server, backup, storage, database as well as direction for future capabilities 
• Leads specific IT Infrastructure projects including the design, justification, and implementation of new technologies.
• Develop an understanding of Infrastructure requirements and ensure Project “delivery” and “Quality” Key Performance Indicators are met.

Education:

• First degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or IT related discipline  
• Fluent in English  

Experience:

3-7 years’ experience which includes 

• Minimum of 3 years Hands-on experience in Cloud Computing, Cloud-native Platform/application deployment, Virtualization, Operating System, Storage and System Management products.
