    WASH Assistant (Technical)

    Responsibilities:

    • Train, mentor, and provide on-the-job technical support to WASHCOMM volunteers and hygiene promoters on hygiene, sanitation, and Menstrual Hygiene Management (MHM) best practices
    • Coordinate and actively participate in Water, Satination and Hygiene (WASH) coordination meetings and relevant field-level engagements
    • Supervise community mobilization, sensitization, and implementation of hygiene-related activities in line with approved work plans
    • Liaise with community leaders and stakeholders to identify and address priority hygiene and sanitation challenges
    • Support needs assessments, baseline surveys, and other monitoring activities in collaboration with the Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEAL) team
    • Support hygiene and MHM kit distributions and ensure beneficiaries are properly sensitized on correct usage
    • Ensure timely delivery of activities, accurate reporting (weekly/monthly), and close collaboration with the WASH Officer, including proposal development support

    Qualification and Experience:

    • Minimum academic qualification of B.Eng in Civil and Water Resources, or related
    • Extensive field team management experience as well as hygiene, security, safety, and resource management experience
    • Excellent project management, partnership management, and coordination skills
    • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the capacity to see the big picture and make sound judgments and decisions
    • Proactive, resourceful, solutions-oriented, and results-oriented, with a genuine interest in learning
    • Strong communication skills, including proficiency in the local dialect (preferably Hausa and English), are a core criterion
    • Ability to work effectively with local governments, align with MI values and standards, and cope in stressful or hostile environments, including travelling to deep field locations and conducting partner visits
    • Qualified candidates currently based in Katsina or with Katsina State of Origin will be prioritized.

    Multipurpose Cash Assistance (MPCA) Officer

    Responsibilities:

    • Lead the implementation of multipurpose cash assistance, ensuring high-quality data collection and reporting in line with Malteser International standards, and maintaining strong partnerships with communities and key stakeholders
    • Lead community engagement, beneficiary targeting, registration, financial service provider procurement and supervision, cash disbursement, and market monitoring to ensure transparent, accountable, and effective MPCA delivery
    • Manage program data collection, documentation, and reporting, contribute to learning and coordination processes, and ensure internal and external compliance with Malteser International procedures
    • Strengthen collaboration with government authorities, cash coordination platforms, humanitarian partners, and community structures to ensure acceptance, effective coordination, and smooth program implementation

    Qualification and Experience:

    • Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) in the field of economics, social sciences, or agricultural economics, with at least 2-3 years of experience in connection with MPCA
    • Strong communication skills, including proficiency in the local dialect (preferably Hausa and English), are a core criterion
    • Ability to work effectively with local governments, align with MI values and standards, and cope in stressful or hostile environments, including travelling to deep field locations and conducting partner visits
    • Qualified candidates currently based in Katsina or with Katsina State of Origin will be prioritized
