    Project Manager

    A vacancy has arisen in a reputable NGO

    The Project Manager will oversee the development and execution of project deliverables, lead project planning, budgeting, action plans and monitoring processes. The Project Manager will be responsible for managing projects from the point of conception to execution. S/he should be very proactive, a strategic thinker, an effective communicator and have a great understanding of the role.

    The Project Manager will report directly to the Chief Executive Officer.

    Requirements

    • A Bachelor’s degree or M.Sc. in Project Management Business Administration, or any related field
    • MBA/MPH is an added advantage
    • Minimum of three (3) years’ with at least five (2) years’ preferably in project management with an NGO.
    • Prior experience in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modelling, leadership technique, and coordination of people and resources.
    • Excellent communication and analytical skills.
    • Outstanding team player.

    Job Description

    In fulfilling his or her responsibilities, The successful candidate will:

    • Engage stakeholders and prepare project requirement documents
    • Prepare project planning documentation like charter, daily project report templates, glossary, assumption risk documents and mitigation plans
    • Review proposal work plan and prepare work breakdown structure and Grant chart
    • Develop logistics and travel plans for all the technical support officers
    • Supervise the field assessors, technical support officers and monitor data collection activities
    • Organize daily stand-up meetings and collection of daily reports
    • Collate reports from the field teams in the different states and prepare a comprehensive data collection report
    • Prepare project closing reports and submissions.
    • Report and accelerate risks or blockers within the projects daily
    • Ensure project activities comply with the policies and regulations of the donor organization.
    • Oversee all project activities and be the main contact point for the donor and the field staff
    • Capacity building and mentoring of project officers.
    • Ensure that all team members and selected partners are aware of, and have the capacity to fulfil, their responsibilities and functional roles for project implementation.
    • Work as a positive team member and contribute to the objectives of the NGO.

    Learning and Research Officer

    The Learning and Research Officer will support the Head of Research and Development on learning priorities across the organization. S/he is also responsible for contributing to the design and effective conduct and research in accordance with the NGO’s mission, guiding principles, standards, commitments, regulatory framework (including policies, procedures, and guidance), as well as professional norms and standards.

    Requirements

    • A Minimum of B.sc /B. A in relevant discipline.

    Job Description

    • Review the Terms of Reference for upcoming major research projects and drafts of research reports.

    • Controlling and evaluating IT and electronic data operations.
    • Ensure security of data, network access and backup systems.

    • Oversee data backup and system security operations (e.g., user authorization, firewalls).
    • Control costs and budgets regarding IT systems.

    Grant Officer

    A vacancy has arisen in a reputable NGO

    The Grant Officer will support in the management of financial and administrative related matters. S/he is responsible for advising and supporting the Resource Mobilization Officer concerning matter related to sub award management, including managing, and implementing financial, budgeting, and accounting matters to sub recipients and ensure all expenditures are compliant with sub agreement and funding Agency’s requirements.

    The Grant Officer will report directly to the Chief Executive Officer.

    Requirements

    • Minimum of BSC in Accounting, Finance, Business administration or Economics with ACA/ACCA/CPA Professional Accounting qualifications.
    • Minimum on 3 years Cognate Experience in grants accounting and sub award management.
    • Experience with accounting standards/practices of international organization a strong plus.
    • Experience in international development project management and donor funds administration.
    • Experience assessing the responsibility and grant-worthiness of organizations through financial statements, audits and other documentation presented in a proposal or in support of an award.
    •  Experience working on USAID-funded projects especially on grants management and reporting mechanisms.
    • Extensive knowledge of USAID rules and regulations for grants and sub-grants management.

    Job Description

    In fulfilling his or her responsibilities, The successful candidate will:

    • Support in administering the full cycle of grants management activities beginning from pre-award assessments, monitoring/compliance visits and close-out procedures.
    • Support the Grant Manager to develop grant award and award modification documents; develop negotiated memorandum of grant awards.
    • Ensure that   pre-award surveys are conducted, and that monitoring and financial support are provided for sub-grantees.
    • Respond to issues that arise during sub-grants, contract, and associate award implementation
    • Review the company’s financial statements.
    •  Ensure that the investment processes comply with the industry and broader  regulatory standards.
    • Keep up to date with policy, valuation or any changes and developments in the investment sector, pension industry, broader local and international business environment.
    • Analyse company’s budget and allocate assets.
    • Monitor company’s investments. reporting procedures and mechanisms, to ensure improvement and impact.
    • Conduct supportive site visits to ensure sub-recipients’ compliance with the terms, conditions, and specifications of the sub award; monitor and manage issues of non-compliance.
    • Assist in the awarding and administering of sub-contract(s) and consultant agreements necessary to support the associate award program objectives.
    • Any other duties as assigned.
