    Head of Business Development

    Role Overview

    • The Head of Business Development is responsible for planning, developing, and implementing strategies to attract new business, expand the Financial institution ’s market share, and strengthen client relationships.
    • The role requires strong leadership skills, in-depth knowledge of the financial services industry (particularly Financial institution ), and the ability to guide the business development unit toward meeting institutional targets

    Key Responsibilities

    • Develop and execute business development plans to achieve set financial and operational objectives.
    • Identify new market opportunities and drive initiatives aimed at acquiring and retaining clients across various segments.
    • Supervise and coordinate the activities of the business development and marketing teams across all locations.
    • Build and maintain relationships with existing and potential institutional partners, clients, and stakeholders.
    • Ensure sales targets are met across loan, deposit, and other financial products.
    • Provide oversight for branch expansion strategies, including feasibility studies and market entry plans.
    • Monitor market trends, customer preferences, and competitive activities to inform product positioning and pricing.
    • Work with the product development team to refine or introduce market-appropriate financial offerings.
    • Generate periodic reports on sales performance, growth metrics, and market feedback for executive review.
    • Represent the Financial institution in meetings, presentations, and relevant external engagements as delegated by the Managing Director.
    • Ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements in all business development activities.
    • Lead the recruitment, training, and performance management of staff within the business development department.

    Qualifications and Requirements
    Education:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Marketing, or any related field.
    • A Master’s degree or MBA is an added advantage
    • Certifications: Relevant professional certifications such as CIM, CIBN, or similar will be considered an advantage.

    Experience:

    • Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in business development, marketing, or sales within the financial services sector.
    • At least 3 years in a senior managerial or strategic leadership position.
    • Demonstrated experience in developing growth strategies, team supervision, and client relationship management.
    • Strong understanding of the Financial institution landscape and regulatory environment.

    Managing Director

    Role Overview

    • The Managing Director is the chief executive responsible for the overall strategic direction, operational oversight, and financial sustainability of the Financial institution.
    • This role entails providing leadership to the executive team, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and delivering on the Financial institution ’s mission and performance targets.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Provide strategic leadership and direction for the financial institution in alignment with the board’s vision and regulatory expectations.
    • Ensure the development and execution of short-term and long-term business plans, financial strategies, and operational policies.
    • Maintain effective internal control systems and oversee risk management across all business functions.
    • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory guidelines as stipulated by the Central Financial institution of Nigeria (CBN) and other regulatory authorities.
    • Supervise executive management and departmental heads in the planning and execution of operational and financial activities.
    • Monitor the financial institution’s performance and ensure profitability, sustainability, and liquidity.
    • Represent the Financial institution in interactions with regulators, stakeholders, investors, and other external parties.
    • Present timely and accurate reports to the Board of Directors on the financial’s operations, financial status, and strategic issues.
    • Oversee the development and implementation of new products and services that align with the Financial institution ’s objectives.
    • Guide the development of policies that promote sound lending practices, responsible Financial institution ing, and customer satisfaction.
    • Provide leadership in the management of human resources, including talent development, staff performance, and organizational structure.
    • Ensure that the Financial institution maintains a good public image and strong community relationships in line with its mission.

    Qualifications and Requirements
    Education:

    • A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
    • A Master’s Degree (MBA or relevant discipline) is strongly preferred.

    Certifications:

    • Relevant professional certifications such as CIBN, ICAN, ACCA, or other recognized financial and Financial institution ing qualifications are required.
    • Certification in risk management or corporate governance is an advantage.

    Experience:

    • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in the Financial institution or financial services sector, with at least 5 years in a senior executive or leadership role.
    • Demonstrated experience in managing Financial institution ing operations, strategic planning, and regulatory engagement.
    • Previous experience in financial institutions or retail Financial institutions is essential.
