    Warehouse Assistant

    Job Summary

    The Warehouse Assistant will be based in Maiduguri, Borno State and report to the Warehouse Officer. He/she will be responsible for store management, monitoring of stock utilization and managing storage facilities. Other specific objectives to be achieved includes but are not limited to; participating in the monitoring of stock utilization such as observing the minimum stock balances to anticipate any shortage in rolling stock, providing  advice on minimum stock balance based on consumption, ensuring budget holders conduct a physical review for stock requested and sign necessary documentation as well as providing support to the Warehouse Officer in updating the mission's stock follow up.

    The successful candidate will have;

    • A minimum of National Diploma with professional experience in stock management.
    • Sound knowledge of general storage procedures including knowledge of Microsoft Office packages.
    • Strong organisational and communication skills in both written and oral English including ability to speak Hausa or Kanuri language.
    • Experience in archive management.
    • Previous experience in an NGO preferably.

    Warehouse Officer

    Job Summary

    The Warehouse Officer will be based in Maiduguri, Borno State and report to the Warehouse Manager. He/she will be responsible for warehouse and store management including monitoring of stock utilization. The specific objectives to be achieved includes but are not limited to;

    • Updating the mission's stock follow up on a daily basis and submit to the Warehouse Manager,
    • Ensuring compliance with the mission's internal guidelines and storage standards,
    • Monthly review of minimum stock balance and physical inventory of all items in stock.
    • Receiving and issuing various dispatch documents as per kitlog procedures.
    • Supervising the process of loading and unloading process including casual worker request, attendance sheet and ensuring timely payment.
    • Working closely with the procurement team regarding various and anticipated deliveries.
    • Implementing Action Against Hunger warehouse management systems and procedures.
    • Ensuring the movement of inventories in the warehouse & stores are correctly documented; authorized and paper work is done as per procedures.
    • Providing assistance in training and support to other members of the team when requested. 
    • Ensuring all stock items are properly stored and correctly recorded as per the guidelines and the warehouse/stores are well maintained. 

    The successful candidate will have;

    • A minimum of bachelor’s degree in management related studies with professional experience in stock and archive management
    • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in logistics, including procurement or inventory. Previous experience with an NGO in similar role will be an added advantage.
    • Excellent knowledge of general storage procedures as well as computer skills.
    • Ability to speak and communicate in both English and Hausa.

    Food Security and Livelihood (FSL) Deputy Program Manager

    Job Summary

    The Food Security Livelihood Deputy Program Manager will be based in Damaturu, Yobe State and report to the Food Security and Livelihood Program Manager. The FSL DPM will be also be responsible for implementing the FSL activities in the Integrated Basic Humanitarian Response Project (INP) through cash based interventions and capacity building to improve skills or production in pre-existing livelihood assets. The specific objectives includes but are not limited to;

    • Ensuring adherence to program quality and objectives, including respect of Action Against Hunger technical guidelines, systems, and established deadlines.
    • Providing support to program budget design and updates, budget monitoring and cash projections.
    • Contributing to organizational and sector-wide learning through documentation of lessons learnt, best practices, evaluations etc. from the FSL component of the program.
    • Conducting regular field visits, providing advice and regular technical support to field-based program team (FSL Officers and FSL Assistants). 
    • Monthly compilation of FSL program technical reports with an overview of activities and contextual updates, and quantitative indicator follow-up and submit to FSL PM for consolidation.
    • Supporting detailed planning and implementation of FSL activities in collaboration with the FSL PM with the Multi sectorial PM.
    • Identifying program implementation modalities that enhance partnership & coordination with government official and local communities, internal integration within sectors and other programs (Nutrition, WASH).
    • Supporting the FSL PM in the development of project procurement and FSL program work plans.
    • Ensuring harmonization of program operating plans and protocols across the program with the technical support from Regional Coordinators, review tools and approaches, and ensure technical standards, guidelines and methodologies are communicated and understood.  
    • Ensuring all program-related data and information is correct, updated, organized and accessible to the country program heads, HQ and other key stakeholders, and lessons learnt and best practice are documented.

    The successful candidate will;

    • Have a minimum of bachelor’s degree in FSL related studies e.g. agro-economy, natural resource management, anthropology, disaster risk management etc. Higher level degree will be an added advantage.
    • Have a minimum two years’ work experience in humanitarian contexts, with at least 1 year in conflict/insecure contexts as well as FSL related program and managing inteventions (cash base transfer, IGA, agriculture/livelihoods)
    • Have experience in implementing programs on behalf of donor (i.e. USAID, ECHO, DFID, SIDA) funded activities.
    • Possess excellent team management skills, budget and project management and representation competencies.
    • Be willing to travel regularly to remote areas, where services are limited.
    • Have excellent Microsoft Office Skills (Outlook, Excel, Power Point, Word).
    • Be fluent in Hausa and English.
