    Principal Control Engineer

    Service Description

    • Promote Goal Zero Safety and Quality culture and drive compliance at the worksite.
    • Enforce Shell and IOGP HSE policies and procedures at Company worksites.
    • Review and provide input to technical specification documents, P&IDs, and other detailed engineering documents for subsea control systems and other interfacing systems.
    • Respond to Subsea Control and Distribution-related queries and technical clarification questions from the contractor.
    • Ensure the manufacturing/fabrication of MCS (Master Control System), EPU (Electrical Power Unit), HPU (Hydraulic Power Unit), EJB, TUPA, SCMs, Hardware Mounted Controls, and associated transportation, storage, and installation aids comply with project specifications, procedures, design documentations, and approved Inspection and Test Plan (ITP), and validation through testing. Ensure appropriate witness, review, and approvals by Company representatives per approved project inspection and test plans.
    • Participate in Design Reviews, Technical Workshops, HAZID, HAZOP, and any other Meetings/Reviews as may be assigned in the Scope of Work.
    • Ensure safe, timely, and efficient execution and drive progress of work scope based on the project schedule.
    • Witness fabrication, assembly, and/or manufacturing activities at the Fabrication Site and confirm compliance with the approved procedure.
    • Witness site activities including Site Receipt Inspection, Site Integration, Factory Acceptance Test, Extended Factory Acceptance Test, and System Integration Test, and confirm compliance with the approved procedure.
    • Work with the contractor to ensure quality issues are properly identified, documented, reported, and timely dispositioned.
    • Author and deliver daily, weekly, and monthly status, progress, and site reports.
    • Oversee materials/goods receipt, inspection, and verification checks, and reporting.
    • Coordinate readiness and execution of integration tests across packages/disciplines.
    • Review and provide input to Assembly and Testing Procedures, storage and preservation, Transportation Handling Instructions, Installation, and Offshore Testing Procedures.
    • Ensure the Materials Record Book (including Certificate of Conformance and other technical documentation) is available prior to loadout of equipment.
    • Coordinate logistics at the Local Fabrication Site for timely packaging and transportation of equipment to the quayside and safely load-out to the installation/transportation vessel.
    • Liaise with Company’s Lifting and Hoisting SME (Subject Matter Expert) to review lift plans, rigging registers, and support safe lifting operations.
    • Supervise offshore installation, testing, pre-commissioning, and commissioning of the subsea control systems.
    • Liaise with Project Engineers responsible for the delivery of other packages within the project (e.g., Distributed Control System, Electrical systems, topsides piping and structures, etc.) to successfully manage interfaces and drive compliance with project requirements.
    • Coordinate meetings and design reviews with contractor engineers and technicians and report outcomes.
    • Liaise with internal stakeholders (i.e., Quality, HSE, project control, engineering disciplines, planning, Information & Digital Technology, Bonga asset & operations, Wells, marine, logistics, planning aviation, subsea intervention, etc.) to ensure adequate support for project execution.
    • Log and track lessons learned during the detailed design and manufacturing activities within the Package.
    • Review operations and maintenance manuals and guidelines issued by the contractor.
    • The service will involve work and travel to fabrication sites, OEM facilities, and offshore vessels in the Gulf of Guinea.

    Requisite Qualifications

    • Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Subsea Engineering, with professional registration.
    • Minimum of 15 years of work experience with at least 10 years of relevant experience in designing, installing, or upgrading automation and control systems within the oil and gas industry, with a bias in Deepwater.
    • Good understanding and practical application of Industry standards and codes (API 17F/ISO 13628-6, API 17H, API RP 17N, ASME B31.3, ASME IX, IEC 60287).
    • Practical experience in working with subsea control systems OEMs.
    • Practical experience in developing subsea control specifications and datasheets.
    • Ability to communicate, work, interface, interact, and influence effectively within a multi-disciplinary team of professionals located globally.
    • Knowledge of personal and process safety.
    • Demonstrable project management experience and possibly with certifications if applicable.

    Senior Project Engineer (Pull-in System, RUPS)

    Service Description

    • Ensure all riser and umbilical pull-in system engineering, construction, and installation activities comply with HSSEQ (Health, Safety, Security, Environment, and Quality) standards, promoting a safety-first culture on-site.
    • Enforce Shell and IOGP (International Oil and Gas Producers) HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) policies and procedures at Company worksites.
    • Participate in multi-disciplinary Detailed Engineering Design for the project, focusing on riser and umbilical pull-in systems and related appurtenances.
    • Ensure technical assurance of riser and umbilical pull-in system deliverables during the Detail Design phase, including managing all interfaces with other disciplines.
    • Manage technical queries across design, procurement, fabrication, and installation phases, including overseeing any necessary qualification and testing.
    • Oversee interfaces with FPSO, umbilical systems, and related equipment to ensure seamless integration and operation.
    • Conduct and lead intraand multi-discipline technical reviews, including HAZIDs, HAZOPs, Constructability Reviews, Human Factor Engineering Reviews, and Reliability, Availability, and Maintainability Studies.
    • Ensure that all engineering work is completed and verified in accordance with project quality procedures and standards.
    • Review, critique, verify, and approve analysis and design of riser and umbilical pull-in systems, serving as an in-house Subject Matter Expert (SME) familiar with relevant analysis methods and tools.
    • Apply knowledge of applicable industry codes and Shell requirements to ensure the safe design and operation of riser and umbilical systems, working collaboratively with other disciplines.
    • Collaborate effectively with engineering houses and other Community of Practice (CoP) Engineering disciplines to ensure project alignment and knowledge sharing.
    • Demonstrate personal commitment to Company's HSSE objectives and motivate the team to prioritize HSSE in all activities.
    • Provide engineering input on alternative installation techniques proposed by the Contractor, ensuring they meet project specifications and safety standards.

    • Provide technical support in preparation for riser and umbilical installation and offshore operations, including:
      • Reviewing the strength capacity and design of FPSO Hull Interfaces for the Riser and Umbilical Pull-in Systems, including pull-in lugs, porches, i-tubes, and pull-in sheaves.
      • Reviewing and approving installation procedures and method statements for risers and umbilicals to ensure safe and efficient execution.
      • Liaising with the Quality Assurance discipline to ensure alignment between QA/QC requirements and technical specifications.

    Job Description

    • Service Type: Materials and Corrosion (MCI) Engineering Services

    Responsibilities

    • Ensure the implementation of Materials, Corrosion, and Integrity (MCI) requirements throughout the design, fabrication, testing, installation, pre-commissioning, and commissioning phases of the BN project.
    • Compliance with MCI Requirement: Ensure that final products meet MCI requirements as well as the project scope of work and specifications.
    • MCI Activities Management: Oversee MCI activities during detail design, fabrication, testing, installation, and support commissioning in accordance with company policies and standards.

    • ACOREN registered or registerable engineer.
    • Demonstrated technical proficiency in offshore facilities design, fabrication, installation, and commissioning. Experience should include playing a key role in at least one major offshore project involving FPSO design and installation.
    • Ability to provide in-depth materials and corrosion expertise for the design, fabrication, installation, pre-commissioning, and commissioning of subsea and pipeline systems.
    • Experience working with and interfacing with mixed teams of professionals located globally.
    • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
    • Previous experience working with the Nigerian Welding Society is advantageous.
    • Capability to proactively implement plans and ensure sustained execution, meeting project milestones.
    • Ability to maintain composure under pressure while providing clear and decisive leadership.

    Senior Subsea Hardware Engineer - Jumper Delivery

    Service Description

    • Promote Safety culture and drive Goal Zero compliance at the worksite.
    • Enforcing Shell and IOGP HSE policies and procedures at worksites.
    • Review documents issued by the contractor for the Scope of Work relevant to the Subsea manifold & Connection Systems.
    • Participate in Design Reviews, Technical Workshops, and any other Meetings as may be assigned in the Scope of Work.
    • Review disposition Deviation/Derogation Requests and Technical Queries that may originate from the contractor.
    • Supervise manufacturing/fabrication of rigid subsea well jumpers and associated structures, ensuring compliance with procedures, design documentation, approved Inspection and Test Plan (ITP), and validation through testing.
    • Oversee long lead items and other materials/goods receipt, inspection, and verification checks.
    • Oversee implementation of the contractor’s Procedure Qualification (including welding, NDE, and coating qualification tests) at worksites.
    • Ensure Materials Record Book (including Certificates of Conformance and other technical documentation) is available prior to loadout of equipment.
    • Liaise with EPC-3’s logistics team at the Local Fabrication Site to support timely transportation of equipment to the quayside and safely load out the same.
    • Ensure proper storage of subsea Equipment, tools, and accessories per Contractor’s storage and maintenance procedure.
    • Review and provide input to Assembly and Testing Procedure, Transportation Handling Instruction, Installation, and Offshore Testing Procedure.
    • Liaise with the Company’s Lifting and Hoisting SME to review the lift plan, rigging register, and support safe lifting operations.
    • Supervise activities at the EPC-3 Local Fabrication Site and confirm compliance with the approved procedure. Activities shall not be limited to Site Receipt Inspection, Factory Acceptance Test, Extended Factory Acceptance Test, and System Integration Test.
    • Work with EPC-3 Contractor to ensure quality issues are properly identified, documented, and timely dispositioned.
    • Provide, on a regular basis, a status and progress report of activities to the Lead Engineer.
    • Log and track lessons Learned during the detailed design and manufacturing activities within the Package.
    • Collaborate with EPC-3’s Workshop, Planning, QC, Warehouse, and other support teams during the execution of the manifold and Jumper scope to drive compliance with project requirements, agreed schedule, and key dates.
    • Responsible for safe and efficient execution of the work scope and drive its timely completion per contract and procedures.
    • Liaise with internal stakeholders i.e., project, asset & operations, Wells, marine logistics, geomatics, aviation, diving, etc., to ensure adequate support for project execution.
    • Contribute to Close-out Report relevant to the Subsea manifold and Connection Systems.
    • Oversee engineering analysis, creation of drawings, fabrication, and testing procedures (Welding, NDE, Coating), and other design outputs for construction.
    • Participate in Design reviews, HAZOPS, HAZIDS.
    • Review and maintain installation, operation, and maintenance manuals and guidelines.
    • Review, check, and approve drawings for construction at worksites.
    • Oversee implementation of the contractor’s Procedure Qualification (including welding, NDE, and coating qualification tests) at worksites.
    • Lead Root-Cause-Failure Analysis (RCFA), report out and implement preventive and proactive actions close-out.
    • Share knowledge across the company. Identify and champion best practices.
    • Monitor manufacturing activities at various worksites and ensure appropriate witness, review, and approvals by Company representatives per approved project inspection and test plans.
    • Support the development of young personnel.
    • The service will involve work and travel to fabrication sites, OEM facilities, and offshore vessels in the Gulf of Guinea.

    Requisite Qualifications

    • At least 15 years of combined experience in engineering, manufacturing/fabrication, and installation of subsea manifold and tie-in systems (Subsea rigid Jumpers and Connection Systems).
    • Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Marine Engineering, and/or Master in Subsea Engineering-related discipline.
    • Practical experience in Connection Systems (Hubs and Connectors) engineering and manufacturing processes of the Subsea Hardware systems.
    • Practical experience in mechanical, electrical, or hydraulic design of subsea products.
    • Practical experience as Company/Operator Representation in similar-type project execution.
    • Practical experience in integration and testing of pressure-containing components such as pipe, forged fittings, valves, and hubs.
    • Practical experience in the use of CAD for models, drawings, and schematics.
    • Good understanding and practical application of the following industry standards and codes related to subsea hardware and systems such as: API-RP-17R, API 6A & 17D, ASME Section IX, ASME B31.3, ASME B31.8, API-RP-17H, API RP-17P, API RP-17R, API-RP-2A-WSD, AWS-D1.1, DNV-RP-F119, as well as other ISO, DNV, and NORSOK equivalent standards in major subsea project is required.
    • Knowledge in the use of MS Office tools or similar software.
    • Practical experience in working with OEM technicians and engineers to resolve technical issues.

    Ability to communicate, work, interface, interact, and influence effectively within a multi-disciplinary team of professionals located globally.
