    Method / Planner Leader

    Responsibilities
    HSE:

    • Ensures SHE policy fulfilment during his activities.
    • Contributes to achieve and improve SHE targets, respecting the existing procedures and advising new specific ones (if required),
    • Pay particular attention to CSGs (Critical Safety Guards),
    • Update permanently the technical documentation (Maintenance Procedures, SLDs, PIDs, PFDs…),
    • Gives his contribution in Hazard Analyses, incident investigations, Root Cause Failure Analyses, process incidents advising his hierarchy about HSE issues and proposing corrective solutions.
    • Ensures record keeping and reporting of action items from Process Hazard Analyses, 5 WHYs and other activities/audits as required.
    • Operates in conformity with the codes, standards, regulations, and industry best practices (ASME, API, ANSI, and OSHA).
    • Checks and verifies that mandatory aspects (including those concerning local law scenario) are properly implemented for all activities carried out.
    • Participates in key procedure audits in a proactive manner.
    • Respects the waste management policy, verifying that all activities performed under his own responsibility comply with it without any exceptions.
    • Contribution to the reporting of anomalies and incidents and participation as well to diagnosis and corrective actions.

    General Description

    • Responsible for coordinating, supervising, and managing the planners and methods engineers, ensuring compliance with HSE standards, deadlines, and production objectives.
    • Monitor Daily Field activity
    • Ensure Bill of Materials (BOM’s) are linked to equipment preventive maintenance tasks.
    • Oversee the proper execution of work according to technical specifications.
    • Participate in coordination meetings and escalate key information.
    • Coordinate the tracking project maintenance activities in Operations Readiness Plan
    • Prepare activity reports and provide regular updates to management.
    • Manage technical issues and propose effective solutions.
    • Participate in 3D model, layout, HAZID, HAZOP and LOPA reviews, providing pragmatic input through the lens of planning, Maintainability consequence to inspection and maintenance personnel.
    • Monitor input in the selection, procurement, delivery, and preservation of spare parts.
    • Validate maintenance job plans and procedures. Ensures correct labour codes and hours are in CMMS covering all required trades.
    • Monitor initial equipment and materials to purchase/stock to support maintenance as well as ensure Maintenance Strategy is fully functional and equipment/ spares are properly documented.
    • Overview the resource scheduling and smoothing within the maintenance & integrity of offshore operations.
    • Participate in the definition of short, medium and long-term maintenance planning (includes time schedule and resources definition).
    • Ensure quality work orders and produce work packs, follow the Work Management system standard, that significantly attribute to safe and reliable operations.
    • Tasks and Responsibilities:
    • The job holder is responsible for the definition, implementation, maintenance and control of all necessary means and documents related to the internal organization of Projects and for defining, implementing and maintaining under CMS, the Projects manual of (internal) procedures.
    • The job holder shall have or acquire knowledge of Corporate processes in order to ease the implementation of process within Projects (budgeting, invoice processing, contract processing, reporting, change management, HR...) and to propose solution for the best management of these processes.
    • The job holder will take in charge, provide support or give input to the development of organizational documents like the Project Execution Plan, Delegation of Authority Guide, Manpower Plan, Job Descriptions, Charts, Plans and various procedures, presentations... as needed / requested.
    • The job holder reports to the Project Control Manager. The job holder is also accountable for demonstrating an exemplary behaviour regarding HSSE rules & requirements

    Activities

    • To adopt & demonstrate an exemplary behaviour regarding HSSE rules & requirements.
    • To define, develop and maintain all internal Procedures under CMS, associated templates and tools as necessary (Contract and Procurement Strategy, Budgeting and Cost Control, Scheduling, Reporting, Documentation Control, HR administration,) in compliance with the Corporate procedures and practices.
    • To provide support for implementing the Project Organizational Documents (meeting presentations, training courses, individual explanations...)
    • To develop, as requested by Project Management, Project organizational documents and presentations (Project Execution Plan, etc.)
    • To propose and implement means and tools that would ease organizational process.
    • To take part in or conduct internal audits/reviews with Quality Lead to ensure compliance with internal procedures.
    • To timely report to the Contract Planning, highlighting progress and encountered areas of concern.
    • To observe strict confidentiality in the data and information managed
    • To gather ‘lessons learnt’ and provide feedback
    • Responsible for preparation of Training Matrix for management approval and supervision of all presentations related to inductions and trainings, for follow-up of training requirements and management of training providers.

    Experience & Background

    • Equivalent of B.Sc. Degree (2.1) in Engineering ,
    • Minimum 15 years’ experience of which: 10 years general upstream oil and gas experience; Experience in similar position (years): min 5 in a large oil and gas organization

    • Familiar with project procedures, Management System standards and guidelines such as ISO 9001
    • Conversant with usual business suites (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access databases).
    • Rigor and critical sense, open-minded, keen to knowledge sharing.
    • Very strong technical referential writing skills
    • Leadership and strong listening / communication skills.
    • Fluency in English mandatory
    • Reliability, autonomy, analytical, organizational capacity and leadership
    • Knowledge IPES (SAP).

    Qualifications required:

    • The holder of this position must have the following qualifications:
    • Equivalent of B.Sc. Mechanical/Instrumentation/Electrical Engineering (2.1),
    • Computer literacy is required
    • Ability to work offshore under the climatic conditions of the site,
    • Ability to work in a multinational team. Ability to work in a service relationship.
    • Competence/experience in the craft (static and rotating equipment, electricity, instrument),
    • Experience in CMMS (SAP) and Microsoft Office Suite
    • BOSIET HUET / Basic Fire Fighting / Basic First Aid / CA-EBS
    • Risk awareness and prevention
    • Working language: English

    ICSS Maintenance Lead

    Job Purpose

    • The Lead ICSS Engineer is responsible for ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation, maintenance, and integrity of all Instrumentation, Control, and Safety Systems (ICSS) onboard the FPSO.
    • This position provides leadership, technical expertise, and operational support to maintain high system availability, ensure compliance with company standards, and optimize plant performance.

    Key Responsibilities
    Operations & Maintenance:

    • Lead the operation and maintenance of all ICSS systems (DCS, ESD, F&G, PLC, SCADA) to ensure maximum reliability and safety of the FPSO.
    • Oversee preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance tasks in alignment with maintenance plans and OEM recommendations.
    • Troubleshoot complex ICSS failures and provide root cause analysis and sustainable corrective actions.
    • Manage ICSS software updates, patches, and backups to maintain integrity and cybersecurity compliance.
    • Ensure the implementation of functional safety standards (IEC 61508 / IEC 61511).
    • Validate and approve system modifications, logic changes, and engineering requests.

    Team Leadership & Coordination:

    • Supervise and mentor the ICSS and Instrumentation technicians offshore.
    • Coordinate with other discipline leads (Electrical, Mechanical, Process, HSE) to support integrated maintenance campaigns.
    • Liaise closely with the onshore support team and system vendors for remote troubleshooting and technical assistance.
    • Ensure accurate reporting and documentation of all ICSS activities, interventions, and system status.

    Reliability & Continuous Improvement:

    • Monitor ICSS system performance KPIs and implement reliability improvement initiatives.
    • Develop and optimize maintenance strategies to reduce downtime and improve system resilience.
    • Participate in Management of Change (MoC) reviews, risk assessments, and reliability studies.
    • Ensure that all ICSS systems meet ExxonMobil’s standards for integrity, safety, and operational excellence.

    HSE & Compliance:

    • Promote and enforce company HSE policied and ensure safe execution of all ICSS activities
    • Guarantee compliance with offshore safety protocols and regulatory requirements.
    • Support Functional Safety Assessments and ensure SIL verification and validation activities are performed.

    About You
    Educational Qualification:

    • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Instrumentation, Control Systems, Electrical, or Automation Engineering.

    Experience:

    • Minimum 10–15 years of experience in ICSS, including at least 5 years in offshore FPSO operations and maintenance.
    • Proven background in control & safety system maintenance and troubleshooting.
    • Hands-on experience with major ICSS vendor platforms (e.g., Yokogawa, Honeywell, ABB, Emerson, Siemens, Schneider).
    • Experience in oil & gas production, FPSO systems, and offshore safety management.

    Skills & Competencies:

    • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to manage multidisciplinary teams.
    • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making under pressure.
    • Good understanding of process control, safety systems, and instrumentation principles.
    • Proficient in ICSS configuration tools, logic programming, and system diagnostics.
    • Fluent in English (written and spoken).

    Additional Information:

    • Rotation: 4 weeks on / 4 weeks off in Nigeria
    • Work environment: Offshore FPSO with multicultural teams.
    • Expected to participate in emergency response and critical maintenance operations as required.
