    Supply Chain Manager

    Job Summary:

    • We are seeking a seasoned Supply Chain Manager with a minimum of 10 years of experience in procurement to develop, improve, and fulfill organizational and functional objectives in procurement and supply,  formulate direction, manage change, lead and influence internal and external procurement and supply stakeholders while overseeing the development and execution of project procurement and resource plans ultimately leading procurement teams within the organization, develop procurement strategies and establish best practices.  

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Ensure that the procurement and supply function aligns with the achievement of the organization's sources of competitive advantage.
    • Create and implement appropriate strategies and plans (project procurement and resource plans) with stakeholders to increase value from supply chain management.
    • Work with stakeholders to mitigate or manage risks that can impact supply chains.
    • Work with stakeholders to eliminate bribery, corruption, and fraud in supply chains.
    • Guide stakeholders to use technologies that help effective communication to support the achievement of supply chain business outcomes.
    • Demonstrate leadership behaviors and styles to promote procurement and supply chain management with internal and external stakeholders.
    • Assess and manage stakeholder expectations through a controlled and value-adding process.Promote effective relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders to secure their commitment to processes, systems, practices, and strategy objectives. 
    • Identify and explore opportunities for globalization in the procurement of goods and services. 
    • Provide advice to colleagues and other stakeholders on the impact of tariffs and duties on imports and exports arranging appropriate actions when necessary. 
    • Contribute to the management of the procurement and supply chain function taking steps to mitigate challenges and difficulties in resolving conflict within the organization and with its supply chains.
    • Advise colleagues and other stakeholders on how to promote ethical and sustainable procurement in the organization and its supply chain.
    • Advise colleagues and other stakeholders on cultural and social issues that can affect supply chains. 
    • Evaluate the impact of customs unions, trade areas, and trade blocs on any restrictions or opportunities for global sourcing.
    • Identify the potential impact of STEEPLED criteria on the organization and its supply chain and draw up plans to maximize the benefits and mitigate difficulties.
    • Monitor and ensure compliance with the licensing and documentation for imports and exports that affect the organization.
    • Evaluate the capabilities of ERP and other procurement systems and databases for procurement and supply activities and make recommendations to senior management on the development and implementation of systems.
    • Work with key stakeholders, suppliers, and customers to create data and reporting that improves spending transparency and supports informed decision-making. Be able to resolve issues where the data gathered is not sufficient. 
    • Explore improvements that can be made to integrate both internal systems and systems across the supply chains through data integration technology and make recommendations to colleagues and other stakeholders. 
    • Assess suppliers’ business continuity plans to mitigate disruption to the organization’s supply chains.
    • Identify opportunities for the development of systems to enable the organization to better control expenditure with suppliers. 
    • Investigate opportunities to improve data analytics and data capture to clearly define and add value in procurement and supply, making appropriate recommendations to senior managers and other stakeholders. 
    • Develop hierarchies of categories for both direct and indirect expenditure that can be subjected to category management and strategic procurement activities.
    • Evaluate and apply an appropriate methodology to improve category management by standardizing processes and systems across the organization. 
    • Evaluate historical and forecasted data related to categories of spend to help formulate options and make recommendations to achieve the best value outcomes.
    • Evaluate and provide advice to stakeholders about categories of direct and indirect expenditure and develop a category management plan by analyzing market factors
    • Demonstrate effective use of soft and technical skills across the organization, and with suppliers and other stakeholders, to achieve effective category management.
    • Lead the implementation of methodologies to achieve lean and agile supply chains.
    • Assess the sourcing options for supplies of products or services establishing the capability of suppliers and the supply chain prior to commitment.
    • Assemble cross-functional teams and consult with internal stakeholders to agree on sourcing options for any specific category of purchase. 
    • Develop and apply appropriate, objective selection and award criteria and use them to evaluate supplier proposals.
    • Evaluate the use of make-or-buy sourcing strategies, considering core competencies, and identify the critical success factors for the outsourcing or insourcing of work or services.
    • Evaluate the development of offshoring and low-cost country sourcing applicable to the outsourcing of work or services.
    • Develop a risk assessment and risk mitigation plan for the outsourcing of work or services taking into account feedback from stakeholders.
    • Create plans for the use of ethical and sustainable procurement with fair pricing and payment terms, upholding relevant labor standards for the outsourced work or services. 
    • Analyze potential global supply chains to ensure that external organizations add value. 
    • Demonstrate the added value to the organization through the implementation of global procurement, off-shoring, low-cost country sourcing, or onshoring, and identify and mitigate any potential supply chain risks.
    • Work with suppliers and other stakeholders to achieve partnering and strategic relationship management to deliver value for the organization and its supply chain.
    • Apply segmentation models to prioritize and differentiate approaches to supplier relationship management with different tiers or types of suppliers. 
    • Develop and apply robust business cases that seek to achieve positive returns on investment from the implementation of supplier relationship management. 
    • Ensure supplier relationship management processes are proactively executed to improve performance and service levels of suppliers 
    • As assigned by the Group Head of Supply Chain.

    Qualifications:

    • Minimum of 10 years of experience in the procurement function 
    • Engineering background is preferred. 
    • MBA is an added advantage  

    Certifications:

    • Must be an MCIPS – Completed level 6 or equivalent.

    Skills:

    • Appreciates the main risks that can impact supply chains and how they can be mitigated.
    • Experienced and understands the application of procedures and governance affecting procurement and supply chain activities.
    • Experienced and understands the use and purpose of a financial budget and its impact on procurement and supply activities.
    • Experienced and understands the impact of procurement and supply operations on the organization’s and suppliers' cash and working capital. 
    • Experience in managing indirect procurement.
    • Evidence of self and team development.
    • Experience with influencing and improving ethical practices in the supply chain function.
    • Excellent knowledge of spend management.

    Interface & Structured Finance Manager

    Job Summary

    • The Interface & Structured Finance Manager is the conduit between the company and Africa Export Import Bank (Afrexim), and other institutions of its ilk.
    • S/he is accountable for maintaining strong partnerships with these banking institutions and is held responsible for developing and improving a mutually cordial relationship between the company and the bank to achieve optimum performance outcomes.

    • Review, interpret, design, contribute, and advise on financial models.
    • Assist in the articulation of loan applications in a way that meets the requirements of Afrexim Bank
    • Establish and maintain relations with relevant stakeholders and organizations that impact and support our corporate goals and business interests.
    • Understand and guide the company on all events of relevant financial Institutions and ensure good representation.
    • Stay abreast of the bank’s offerings, activities, and decisions that may affect the organization and consult with Top management for updates.
    • Gather intelligence on the Financing related to the bank and its partners.
    • Champion the implementation of directives as approved by the Management and Board.

    Key Requirements

    • A minimum of 10 years’ experience in a bank or financial institution 
    •  Strong people skills are required to forge and maintain relations with internal business units, government entities and private producing and marketing companies alike
    •  Compelling evidence of high level of intelligence, commercial acumen, consistent delivery, able to grasp new concepts very quickly and highly numerate
    •  Relevant Business Development experience along with proven ability to build strong working relationships with key stakeholders and to use this to sell ideas to Stakeholders.
    •  Excellent communication and influencing abilities
