    Maintenance Engineer

    Job Summary

    • Maintenance Engineer will be responsible for managing the maintenance, repair, and servicing of equipment and machinery used in the construction process.
    • This role will ensure all equipment is functioning optimally to avoid costly downtime and ensure the smooth progression of construction projects.
    • The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with construction machinery, a strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems, and excellent problem-solving abilities.

    Responsibilities

    • Maintenance and Repairs - Perform regular inspections, preventative maintenance, and repairs on construction equipment, machinery, and tools to ensure operational efficiency and safety standards are met.
    • Troubleshooting - Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and technical issues, providing swift and effective solutions to prevent delays in project timelines.
    • Record Keeping - Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, including repair logs, service schedules, and inventory of spare parts.
    • Collaboration - Work closely with project managers, site supervisors, and other engineering teams to ensure equipment is ready and available for use at all times.

    Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering or related field. Relevant technical certifications in maintenance or equipment management are a plus.
    • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in maintenance engineering, preferably within the construction or heavy equipment industry.
    • Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems in construction machinery.
    • Ability to diagnose and solve complex technical issues quickly and effectively under pressure.
    • Experience working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills to work effectively with team members, management, and external vendors.
    • Valid driver’s license. Relevant certifications in safety management, heavy machinery, or similar areas are preferred.

    Skills:

    • Experience with construction cranes, bulldozers, excavators, backhoes, or similar heavy machinery.
    • Planning and carrying out scheduled maintenance on brands such as CAT, VOLVO, JCB, KOMASTU, DYNNAPAC.
    • Leading team of maintenance mechanics and guiding them to ensure the corrects filters and lubricants are being replaced on time.
    • Familiarity with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
    • Knowledge of safety regulations in construction and machinery operation.
    • Ability to lift and carry heavy objects.
    • Ability to work in various weather conditions and construction environments.

    Education, Qualifications and Experience

    • High School Diploma or equivalent; a relevant technical certification or trade qualification in heavy-duty mechanics, diesel mechanics, or a related field is preferred.
    • Minimum of 12 years of experience in a similar role within the construction or heavy equipment industry.
    • Extensive knowledge of heavy construction machinery and equipment like, excavators, cranes, bulldozers, loaders, etc.

    • Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
    • Strong understanding of equipment maintenance protocols and industry-standard practices.
