The Retail Sales Executive is responsible for acquiring new trade accounts, retaining existing customers, increasing product visibility, and executing account plans to meet sales targets. This includes conducting discovery sales calls, identifying customer needs, and maintaining strong stakeholder relationships.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Sales and Business Development
- Acquire new retail outlets and expand the existing customer base.
- Conduct discovery calls and sales presentations to understand client needs and close deals.
- Execute account plans to upsell and cross-sell products.
- Maintain updated knowledge of products and industry trends.
Relationship Building and Account Management
- Establish and maintain relationships with decision-makers and influencers in customer organizations.
- Understand customer pain points and ensure satisfaction through tailored solutions.
- Optimize customer accounts to prevent stock-outs and ensure full product visibility.
Sales Strategy and Execution
- Implement sales strategies as directed by the manager.
- Monitor competitor activities and market trends to inform tactical decision-making.
- Provide daily and weekly sales reports to track progress and inform leadership.
Reporting and Documentation
- Maintain detailed and accurate sales records.
- Provide actionable insights from sales activities and market feedback.
- Conduct quarterly sales forecasting and performance analysis.
Educational Qualifications, Experience & Requirements
- Minimum of HND/B.Sc./B.A. in Marketing, Business Administration, or relevant field.
- 1–3 years of retail or modern trade sales experience, preferably in FMCG.
- Strong ability to generate business leads and expand customer base.
- Strategic thinker with negotiation and decision-making capabilities.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize work, and meet deadlines independently.
- Self-motivated, target-driven, customer-centric, and solution-oriented.

The role is responsible for managing a field sales team, driving customer acquisition, increasing market share, and ensuring execution excellence in open markets and traditional trade accounts. Educational Qualifications, Experience & Requirements
- B.Sc./HND in Marketing, Business Administration, or related discipline
- Minimum of 3 year’s experience managing open market/traditional trade accounts in Lagos
- Previous experience in consumer-packaged goods (CPG/FMCG) is a plus
- Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
- High proficiency in sales data interpretation and use of CRM tools
- Strategic thinker with hands-on execution skills
