    Assistant Buyer

    The Assistant Buyer (AB) assists the Category manager with the pre-procurement activities and the negotiations and contracting process regarding the suppliers. Based on the Assortment policy, the AB helps the Category manager to select which products should be a part of JARA’s SKU matrix.

    The AB is responsible for the administrative and financial related buying tasks, and manages different SKU and supplier’s issues, inspects quality, and discusses shipping costs.

    Key Roles & Responsibilities:

    • Evaluates and suggests new products and ranges (local and private label) that fit to the needs and requirements of the Assortment policy of JARA.
    • Proposes which products should be programmed for the Weekly bulk, Weekend and in-store promotions.
    • Collates additions and deductions relevant to the 4-weeks catalogue and other kind of printed communications.
    • Recommends clearance sales and varying delivery schedules to help control stock levels.
    • Analyses and gives reports on SKU, category and suppliers performances by applying the 80/20 rule.
    • Follows up on the service level (SL) of the suppliers and encourages suppliers to comply with the agreed procedures.
    • Provides support to the Category Managers in managing and coordinating the marketing activities for the assigned product lines.
    • Monitors daily out of stock information as well as information on price changes.
    • Ensures to provide support to the Commercial Manager before starting Supplier negotiations for existing and new range of SKU(s) by undertaking market analysis and research.
    • Support the Commercial Manager in undertaking due diligence of suppliers and ensure that new suppliers are recorded and registered on ERP System.
    • Develop and maintain a supplier database to strengthen the Purchasing and Supply Chain process.
    • Ensure compliance to company guidelines, purchasing policies and procedures during supplier negotiations and contracts
    • Co-ordinating and collating supplier samples and brochures for new product listing.
    • Process purchase orders, resolve invoicing issues and ensure timely merchandise delivery.
    • Assist Category Manager in selecting, pricing and positioning of category products.
    • Work with Category Manager in developing category plan and strategies to improve product sales.
    • Support Category Managers in collating data reports for Suppliers from the reporting system to develop Joint Business Plans (JBP) with Suppliers.
    • Produce and maintain information on supplier non-conformance.
    • Manage supplier Invoice Queries and resolve in agreed time - scales.
    • Liaise with suppliers on quality problems in conjunction with company quality standards.

    Qualifications:

    • HND/BSC in any business-related course
    • 1 - 3 years’ experience as a Buyer or assistant Buyer

    Marketing and Communications Officer

    Position Summary/Objectives:

    The Marketing and Communications Officer is responsible for initiating and managing the day-to-  day marketing activities of the organization and long-term marketing strategy for the company,  according to the approved marketing budget. The Marketing and Communications Officer takes  care of brand marketing, trade marketing, direct marketing and social media communications. Marketing and Communications Officer uses market and customer research and analysis to direct  the marketing plans. He or She tracks and analyzes the performance of direct marketing and  advertising campaigns and ensures that all marketing materials are in line with the brand and  corporate identity.

    Key Roles & Responsibilities:

    • Develops the marketing strategy and tactics for the company in line with the company’s  objectives
    • Plans, manages and coordinates all marketing activities within the company
    • Analyses economic and commercial surveys to identify potential markets, and monitors  market trends 
    • Undertakes continuous analysis of competitive environment and consumer trends
    • Negotiates  contracts  with  vendors  and  distributors  to  develop  common  marketing  campaigns 
    • Monitors and reports on effectiveness of marketing communications
    • Create and implement content calendar for the brand’s social media pages
    • Monitors the execution of campaigns across all marketing channels
    • Proposes specific marketing budgets and holds the annual marketing budget. 
    • Takes care of brand management and corporate identity
    • Develops indoor and outdoor brand communications
    • Prepares, coordinates and checks the printing of the brand communications 
    • Ensures  the  indoor  &  outdoor  communications  are  executed  by  the  Brand  Book  by  receiving photos, visiting the stores frequently and discussing it with the Head, Corporate  Services
    • Plans and implements promotional campaigns following the seasonality and monthly  events
    • Develops and coordinates marketing campaigns with sales activities to promote products  and services
    • Create a social media following and engage with customers 
    • Collects and reviews the customer forms to create the CRM database and maintains it  accurately
    • Plans and executes direct marketing campaigns to reinforce the brand
    • Develops and manages the website to ensure it features accurate, relevant and actual  content
    • Directs and collaborates with (website) designers on the creation of design elements 
    • Formulates the content for social media activities (WhatsApp, Instagram, Twitter, Google, LinkedIn, etc.) and places the content on social media after approval by Head, Corporate  Services
    • Monitors and reports on effectiveness of the social media activities. 

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or any related field 
    • At least 5 years’ experience in marketing
