    Communications Specialist

    Job Description

    • We seeks a skilled and strategic Communications Specialist to lead communication and engagement efforts for the Nigeria AI Collective project. 
    • This role is central to shaping public perception and stakeholder engagement around AI initiatives led by SIDFS that are in alignment with the broader objectives of the Nigeria AI Collective. 
    • The successful candidate will serve as the key liaison between LBS and the communications team of the Nigeria AI Collective, ensuring that all messaging is aligned with the project’s goals and brand identity.

    Duties

    • The Communications Specialist will implement the Nigeria AI Collective’s communication strategy within Lagos Business School. 
    • This includes developing clear and compelling messaging for LBS-led AI initiatives, ensuring brand consistency across platforms, and producing high-quality content such as social media posts, blogs, videos, newsletters, and policy briefs. 
    • The role also involves coordinating with other consortium partners to align communication efforts, support media relations and publicity for LBS-hosted events, and ensure proper sponsor acknowledgements. 
    • The successful candidate will manage LBS’s representation on the Nigeria AI Collective’s digital platforms, oversee content accuracy and timeliness, and maintain internal documentation and reporting on all communication activities. Additionally, the Communications Specialist will participate in regular communication coordination meetings and provide monthly and quarterly updates detailing outcomes and strategic impact.

    Qualifications and Experience

    • The Communications Specialist should possess a Bachelor’s Degree in communications, Public Relations, Journalism, International Relations, or a related field. A master’s degree is an added advantage.
    • The ideal candidate will have a minimum of five years of progressive experience in communications, preferably in a multi-stakeholder or development project setting. 
    • The candidate must demonstrate the ability to translate complex policy and technical concepts into engaging and accessible content. 
    • Familiarity with Nigeria’s digital transformation landscape and a strong understanding of digital and social media platforms are important. 
    • In addition, excellent writing, storytelling, and project management skills are essential. 
    • The candidate must be highly organized, deadline-driven, and able to work diplomatically across diverse institutions and stakeholders.

    Operations Lead (Research Fellow / Project Manager)

    Job Description

    • Lagos Business School (LBS) invites applications for the role of Operations Lead (Research Fellow / Project Manager) for its LBS AI Collective, which serves as a key implementing partner of the Nigeria AI Collective. 
    • This position offers a unique opportunity to support Nigeria’s national AI vision through structured research, executive education, and cross-sectoral stakeholder engagement. 
    • The successful candidate will provide operational leadership for Lagos Business School’s contributions to the AI Collective, supporting curriculum development, national-level research, policy engagement, and capacity-building initiatives. 
    • This is a two-year fixed-term role.

    Duties

    • The Operations Lead will oversee the implementation of project activities and ensure that deliverables are completed within the agreed timelines. 
    • The candidate will be responsible for coordinating daily project operations, including the organization of meetings, workshops, executive education programmes, and stakeholder events.
    • This includes tracking project milestones and managing reports and documentation for funders and oversight bodies.
    • In the area of research and curriculum development, the candidate will support the identification of AI education gaps through structured assessments such as surveys and focus groups, contribute to the development of tailored AI curricula for different audiences, and facilitate national-level AI research and policy dialogues. 
    • The Operations Lead will also support the delivery of AI-focused executive education programmes targeting public and private sector leaders, coordinate partnerships with institutions, and contribute to the planning and execution of national AI conferences and workshops.
    • The role will also include managing grant administration under the National AI Research Scheme (NAIRS), including proposal review, funding disbursement, and project monitoring. 
    • The successful candidate will work closely with internal and external stakeholders, maintain proper project communication and documentation, and support dissemination of knowledge products, including reports and publications.

    Qualifications and Experience

    • The ideal candidate must hold a postgraduate Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Public Policy, or a related discipline. A minimum of three to five years of relevant experience in research, curriculum development, executive education, or AI-related program delivery is required. 
    • The candidate must demonstrate strong project management experience, including a successful track record of managing complex multi-stakeholder initiatives. Familiarity with Nigeria’s policy and technology ecosystem is essential. 
    • The candidate must be capable of collaborating across academia, government, and industry stakeholders, and should have experience administering national-level surveys or managing research grants. 
    • Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills are expected.
