    Movement Cooperation Officer II- Mubi

    Description

    • Under the direct supervision of the Deputy Head of Sub Delegation Mubi, Movement Cooperation Officer 2 contributes to developing and implementing the Mubi Sub-delegation’s objectives for cooperation with the NRCS and other present Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement partners, in line with the ICRC’s Movement policies and in consultation with the local operating National Society (NS).
    • The Movement Cooperation Officer 2 contributes to building positive relationships between the ICRC and NRCS, supports the identification of capacity building gaps, and explores jointly with NRCS management mitigation measures. He/she also works with other Movement components in support of NRCS initiatives in the delivery of its humanitarian mandate.

    Main Duties and Responsibilities

    • Contributes to implementing the operational partnership between the ICRC and the NRCS by working closely with colleagues and the NRCS to develop joint procedures and partnership agreements; develops the partnership skills of the ICRC and Movement partners.
    • Identifies the strengths and weaknesses of the National Society to better set strategy and objectives for capacity-building and clearly communicates them to colleagues.
    • Organizes and participates in relevant trainings, workshops, and meetings (e.g., Emergency First Aid Teams, Safer Access, Program Monitoring Evaluation Review, Volunteer Database Management, Finance Development) in the identified branches, closely working with Cooperation Abuja, and providing support as required.
    • Takes trips to the field to prepare and attend joint assessments and/or contribute to the identification, recommendation, and implementation of National Society capacity-building initiatives.
    • Maintains an open line of communication with National Society technical staff on operations and capacity building needs and support.
    • Contributes to maintaining a constant overview of the Movement’s activities, capacity, and affairs; contributes to organizing various Movement’s meetings.
    • Supports the Movement Cooperation Coordinator, on issues related to partnership with the NRCS and coordination within the Movement in the area of responsibility.
    • Contributes to the development of the structure’s network or of own network of contacts with local stakeholders.
    • Ensures administrative and financial follow up after field missions.
    • Support branch secretaries to draw up quarterly plans of action in various thematic areas.
    • Works to ensure coordination and coherence between the different ICRC operational objectives that involve the NRCS in identified branches and divisions.
    • Oversees and monitors projects and activities (including ICRC/NRCS joint activities) in the identified branches with requisite reporting and contributes to institutional reporting.

    Education and Experience Required

    • University Degree in a related field, Master’s Degree, is an added advantage.
    • Minimum 2 to 3 years’ experience as Movement Cooperation Officer 1 or international work experience with the ICRC or any other Movement components
    • Proven experience in a field relevant to Movement Cooperation (inside or outside ICRC)
    • Excellent spoken and written English.
    • Knowledge of the local language (Hausa)
    • Applicants should have a Nigerian nationality or hold a working permit.

    Premises Maintenance Officer

    Description 

    • Under the direct supervision and with the support of the Finance and Administration Manager in Mubi, the Premises Maintenance Officer ensures proper maintenance of ICRC premises and equipment.

    Main Duties and Responsibilities

    • Monitors the MUBI Admin Services Task Management (STM) and promptly addresses maintenance issues in the residences and offices.
    • Carry out maintenance works when necessary (plumbing, electricity, mechanical)
    • Manages the electricity recharges and the gas re-fill in the residences and offices.
    • Manages the stocks of supplies (bulbs, switches, etc.) and orders/purchases any necessary material and supplies, in coordination with the logistics staff.
    • Manages the standard item list in the residences and offices and promptly raises IRs/SRs if items are missing or need to be replaced.
    • Responsible in coordination with the Finance and Administration Manager, for arranging the setup of the premises.
    • Deals with external service providers/suppliers and coordinates/supervises their works (servicing of air conditioners, water dispensers, water chlorination, cleaning of water tanks, etc.)
    • Supervises and controls all maintenance-related expenses for the assigned premises.
    • Manages the lease database of all ICRC-rented properties in the sub-delegation and the offices.
    • Responsible for the installation and maintenance of ICRC passive security measures and, in coordination with the sub-delegation and the office management, updates the passive security checklist.
    • Responsible for carrying out tagging and verification of ICRC tangible assets in the offices and residences and ensure the inventory data is entered into the ICRC asset register.
    • Participates in lease agreement negotiation under the supervision of the Finance and Administration Manager
    • Observe the ICRC rules and procedures regarding the management of all premises.

    Education and Experience Required

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Electronics or equivalent
    • 2-3 years experience in a similar field
    • Excellent spoken and written English and Hausa language.
    • Driving license is essential in category D.
    • Applicants should have a Nigerian nationality or hold a working permit.

    Desired profile and Skills:

    • Basic knowledge of computers and the ability to run Excel and Word.
    • Expertise in knowledge of air conditioners and refrigerators
    • Plumbing and carpentry skills are an added value.
