    Accountant

    Job Objectives

    • This role requires a thorough and deep understanding of basic accounting principles. The ideal candidate must have good communication skills, be a self-starter and team player, and have outstanding mathematical capabilities.
    • Working knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles, and bookkeeping procedures. In-depth and broad information about patterns of preparation of balance sheets, profit or loss, maintaining general ledgers, Invoicing, and reconciling account statements.

    Job Description

    • Prepare Monthly Bank Reconciliation Statements
    • Preparation of Daily Bank Position Report.
    • Preparation of weekly schedule of all payables for approval and payment processing
    • Prepare payment vouchers ensuring that transaction classifications are inappropriate headings
    • Daily postings of all payment vouchers
    • Maintain general ledger accounts for all assets, liabilities, income and expenses
    • Prepare journal entries for accruals, prepayments, depreciation and amortizations.
    • Perform accounting analysis for cash, accruals, account payables, account receivables, reconciliations, and foreign exchange.
    • Reconcile Inter &/or intergroup account balances
    • Provide appropriate accounting information on any customer accounts/ledger and balances whenever needed.
    • Preparation and update of fixed assets register / schedule.
    • Reconcile general ledger accounts with trial balance and revenue accounts with cash lodgment, receipt raise/issued, and credit sales.
    • Perform the end-of-the-month account closing activities and report performance for the month.
    • Review financial reports to identify and explain variances.
    • Present monthly performance report at Management Team Meetings
    • Adhere to standard accounting principles and company procedures.
    • Follow the documentation retention policy to maintain accounting files.
    • Any other ad hoc duties as prescribed by the CFO or Head of Finance to assist in achieving the Finance & Accounts Department and overall organizational objectives.

    Qualifications

    • B.Sc / HND in Accounting
    • The professional stage of ICAN or ACA will be an added advantage
    • Minimum of 3 years working experience in a similar role is required.

    Account Payable Officer

    Job Summary

    • An Account Payable Officer is responsible for the financial, administrative, and clerical support of Eye Foundation Hospital.
    • He/she is in charge of making payments owed by the company to suppliers and other creditors, paying vendor invoices or bills, and recording the company’s short-term debts.

    Responsibilities

    • Post business transactions, process invoices, verify financial data for use in maintaining accounts payable records
    • Provide other clerical support necessary to pay the obligations of the organization
    • Maintain meticulous records of outstanding payables
    • Ensure the accuracy of an organization’s financial documents for payment, auditing, and tax purposes
    • Protect businesses against unintentional overpayment
    • Practice effective monitoring to ensure payments are made to vendors in a timely manner
    • Clarify any questionable invoice items, prices, or receiving signatures
    • Assemble and review invoices to be completed for payment
    • Maintain copies of vouchers, invoices, or correspondence necessary for files
    • Type periodic reports and other records
    • Obtain proper information and/or data regarding invoice payments
    • Check vendor files for any previous payments and assign voucher numbers
    • Prepare vouchers listing invoice number, date, vendor address, item description, amounts, and coding per accounting policies and procedures
    • Reconcile bank statements
    • Input daily bookkeeping and record keeping
    • Verify invoices against purchase orders and ensure goods or services were received before issuing payment to vendors.

    • Candidates should possess an HND / BSc qualification with 3 - 6 years work experience.

    Optical Manager

    Job Summary

    • The Optical Manager is responsible for the operation of the store, keeping the store profitable and well-organized to ensure a pleasing experience for our customers.
    • In addition, the Optical Manager delivers excellence in sales performance.

    Responsibilities
    Your duties shall include, but are not limited to the following:

    • Supervise and coordinate all customer-related activities.
    • Drive the delivery of quality care to patients.
    • Generates sales report.
    • You are required to visit other branches as the need arises.
    • Entering the optical daily sales of all branches in QuickBooks.
    • Prepare monthly sales reports with the line manager at the end of the month.
    • Reconciliation of invoices from various optical labs with the order placed and receipts at the end of the month.
    • Assisting the optometrist in attending to patients.
    • Assisting patients in choosing frames and lens options.
    • Stock reconciliation at the end of the month.
    • Follow up on glasses ordered from the laboratory.
    • Ordering and collection of contact lenses when needed.
    • Preparation of HMO report at the end of the month for the accounting and audit department.
    • General administrative work in the optical department.
    • Receiving and assisting patients in accessing the appropriate optical services.
    • Providing effective clerical services and also attending to phone calls.
    • Any other duties as assigned by your supervisor and Management.

    Qualifications

    • A Bachelor's Degree in any relevant field especially in Humanities and Social Sciences
    • A minimum of 2 years working experience in a relevant field.
    • A prior customer service experience is an added advantage.
