    Manager, ITTS-Advisory

    Job overview

    • The manager will work and coordinate teams of professional staff on various international tax projects.
    • In addition, the candidate will be involved in managing operations relating to projects, ensuring assignments are completed in line with the Firm’s criteria around quality & risk management, engagement economics and cash collection.

    Job Description

    • Lead teams to provide various international tax services ranging from cross cross-border tax advisory, tax restructuring services, tax due diligence services and regulatory services such as, processing of National Office for Technology Acquisition and Promotion (NOTAP) and Pioneer Status Incentive approvals.
    • Apply sound knowledge and understanding of the local tax laws, double tax treaties and international tax laws in projects.
    • Manage relationships with clients, regulators, and other external parties.
    • Adopt quality project management strategies to optimize efficiency and effectiveness in service delivery.
    • Monitor project progress, manage resources, and escalate any challenges that arise to ensure successful project outcomes to leadership.
    • Stay updated on changes in local and international tax laws and regulations and communicate the implications to clients.
    • Supervise, coach and invest in training and development of younger team members.

    Requirements

    • A Degree from an accredited tertiary institution in any discipline with a minimum of second class (upper division) or its equivalent.
    • Membership of a professional body is a mandatory requirement – ICAN/ACCA and CITN.
    • A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in international tax services preferably in a multinational corporation or professional services firm.
    • Strong understanding of local and international tax laws, and regulatory requirements across multiple jurisdictions.
    • Proven track record of successfully managing complex international tax projects.
    • Strong project management skills, ensuring timely, efficient and quality delivery of projects.
    • Excellent operations management skills ensuring compliance with the firm’s risk management, management of resources and timely cash collection.
    • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to interpret complex tax issues and identify practical solutions to address challenges.
    • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office application (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

    Manager, Regulatory Compliance

    The opportunity

    • As a Regulatory Manager, you will be a part of our Tax Practice. 
    • You will be part of a team who identifies planning opportunities to help clients fulfill compliance responsibilities, avoid penalties as well as minimize tax burdens.

    Your key responsibilities

    • As a manager, you will advise on multiple and challenging Regulatory and tax advisory engagements and to contribute to the delivery of innovative tax and regulatory planning ideas for our diverse clients.

    To qualify for the role you must have

    • Bachelor's Degree in Law (at least a second-class upper division)
    • Minimum of 6 years of relevant regulatory compliance experience or equivalent experience in business or industry
    • Excellent managerial, organizational and written communication skills.

    Skills and attributes for success:

    • Support the business to identify and reach out to potential clients
    • Undertake legal and regulatory research and assess and evaluate the impact of changes in applicable legislation and best international practices
    • Suggesting practical and innovative solutions to clients and reaching relevant conclusions.
    • Leading development of recommendations and solution implementation plans and using professional judgment in making informed decisions on complex issues.
    • Identifying opportunities to sell refund and recovery services.
    • Effectively applying indirect tax knowledge to situations affecting clients.
    • Maintaining effective client relationships.
    • Participating and assisting in reaching Client Service Teams' goals.
    • Collaborating on business development initiatives in specific industries targeting practice growth
    • Drafting tax alerts about changes to legislation and regulations or following policy statements or judgements
    • Coordinate a program of training and capacity-building activities for the team covering all key areas of compliance and regulatory developments
    • Identify, understand, and escalate clients’ compliance risk events/issues in a timely manner and focus on fixing the root causes of the issues. Monitor the implementation status of agreed-upon action points aimed at driving compliance.
    • Manage clients’ compliance obligations.
    • Support clients in regulatory compliance, including the timely preparation and submission of regulatory filings such as annual returns, or a timely response to regulatory circulars
    • Support clients to obtain necessary licenses, liaise with regulators, and ensure policy updates.
