    Assistant Project Managers

    Job Description

    • Ensure that the designs and drawings for each site are properly adhered to by the site managers and site supervisors.
    • Relate to the PM within 24 hours of any change to the design or drawing already approved.
    • Ensure that all site projects comply with the approved drawing and design.
    • Manage day-to-day project activities in analysing, monitoring, and preparing cost exposure reports and cash flow projections, comprehensive budgets, and schedules
    • Manages daily staff assignments and participates in monthly staff meetings
    • Participates in all project meetings, takes meeting minutes and distributes them to all project team members in a timely fashion.
    • Assists in the preparation of al RFP/bid packages and manages the bid process
    • Responsible for solicitation, evaluation and selection of sub-consultants and contractors.
    • During the design management process, assists in the preparation of estimates and value engineering analysis, peer reviews, and constructability reviews.
    • Process all submittals, requests for information, shop drawings, substation requests, change proposals and change orders.
    • Assist the Project Manager with the overall plan for the construction of the project.
    • Assists in the preparation of daily, weekly and monthly reports that discuss, in detail, the status of the project.
    • Assist the Project Manager in developing the monthly job status report and participate in the preparation of the Cost Analysis Worksheet.
    • Assist in the preparation of change proposals, negotiate change orders, execute change orders, issue change orders to subcontractors and others and prepare revisions to the master cost breakdown as a result of change orders and management revisions.
    • Manage project files and flow of information for the assigned project.
    • Work with the HR Department when necessary.
    • Prepares/sends daily/weekly work reports of work/activities to the PM
    • Communicate any change/instructions on the project/task to the PM within 2 hours
    • Delivering structural designs, drawings and calculations of proposed structures within 7days for complex after a brief.
    • Resolving design and development problems within 24 hours after a brief
    • To produce reports and drawings for every site visited within 48 hours after the visit.
    • Visit sites allotted and in charge of, for compliance with the designs and drawings for that particular site, immediately after it is approved.
    • Report to the assigned site at least two Saturdays in any given month when on-site.
    • Prepares and sends the monthly site budget on or before the 18th of every month.
    • Based on the work scope, set a target for workers and plan the work for them every week.
    • Attend to other tasks as assigned by your superior.
    • Submit weekly To Do Lists and discharged duties to the ED and CAM.

    Requirements

    • Candidate should possess a Degree / HND in Civil Engineering, Project Management or related field.
    • Minimum of 7 years of experience in the construction field.
    • Project Management certification is a plus.
    • Proven experience managing construction projects.

    Quantity Surveyor

    Job Description

    • Review the scope of work, project preamble, drawings and specifications
    • Prepare detailed cost estimates for projects, considering materials, labour and overhead costs.
    • Liaise with the site construction team, finalise and certify the actual physical work done at the site to facilitate subcontractor payments.
    • Manage contracts and ensure compliance.
    • Identify potential financial risks and suggest strategies to mitigate them.
    • Assess project designs for cost-effectiveness, proposing alternatives that maintain quality.
    • Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress and ensure adherence to contracts.
    • Monitoring the quantity of materials received, issued, and used at the site by the subcontractor to facilitate weekly progress.
    • Assessment of change work Orders and Variations (Subcontractor and Client) in line with the Contract of Agreement.
    • Monitor the flow of payments to subcontractors against budget quantities and actual progress made.
    • Prepare and Evaluate Tender Documents and negotiate with contractors, and select suitable bids.
    • Evaluation of Material Specification and prices of Vendors /Subcontractors against Project Specifications.
    • Monitoring projects concerning budgeted cost, demand forecasts, and time overruns to ensure the timely execution of projects.
    • Negotiate pricing contracts with subcontractors and suppliers,
    • Preparation of BOQ and Subcontractors' valuation
    • Develop and implement new purchasing strategies to deliver ongoing cost reductions and process simplification.

    Job Requirements

    • BSc / HND in Quantity Surveying.
    • Must be a Registered Quantity Surveyor
    • 5 years of work experience (Procurement experience will be an added advantage)
    • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
    • Strong negotiation skills
    • Sound knowledge of construction.
    • A good working knowledge of MS Excel.
    • Excellent relationship-building and interpersonal skills.

    Water Resources Engineer

    Job Description

    • Assist in producing designs, both initial outlines and full plans of sewage, water treatment and flood defence structures such as pump systems and pipe networks.
    • Assist in managing and maintaining water and sewage infrastructure operations.
    • Assist in monitoring water and sewage systems and processes, and ensure that compliance is achieved across the organisation.
    • Ensuring that the acquisition of materials on sites is judiciously utilised to ensure that they are used for the original purpose.
    • Assist in writing and advertising tender documents and managing contracts.
    • Plan and develop work schedules, equipment usage schedules, priority of expenditures, and procedures for water and sewage systems maintenance.
    • Assist in monitoring the acquisition and use of materials and ensure the logbook and record keeping every week.
    • Maintain material records and submit a report at the very of every workday on Friday.
    • Assist in maintaining an awareness of current environmental issues.
    • Assist in estimating materials and labour every day.
    • Assist in the water treatment plant where necessary.
    • Assist in managing geophysical reports on siting pump and water plants.
    • Using a variety of specialist computer applications/simulation software for the completion of water and sewage projects.
    • Ensure daily safety regulations and adhere to proper codes and standards.
    • Undertake any other relevant duties as directed by the Senior Manager.

    Job Requirements

    • B.Sc Degree in Civil Engineering (Major in water resources management is an added advantage)
    • 4 years of work experience.
    • Should be conversant with relevant national laws.
    • Postgraduate qualification and or membership of a professional body will be an added advantage.
    • Must have at least 3 years’ experience in similar projects.

    Job Description

    • Coordination of and supervision of workers.

    Procurement Officer

    Job Description

    • Demonstrated experience in procurement processes, including and Contra for raising purchase orders
    • Find, sort, or move goods between different sites
    • Attend Pep meetings on site with the site workers for the work plan.
    • Ensure daily stock count on resumption and before the close of work.
    • To keep a daily record of materials received and disbursed.
    • Compile reports on various aspects of changes in inventory
    • Keep records of items shipped, received, or transferred to another location
    • To exercise general control over all activities within the stores
    • To ensure safe keeping, both as to the quality and quantity of materials.
    • To maintain proper records and reports of daily opening and closing stock to the Inventory Officer/Logistics Officer.
    • To initiate purchase requisitions for the replacement of stock of all regular store items whenever the stock level of any item of store approaches the minimum limit fixed in respect thereof.
    • To initiate action for the stoppage of further purchasing when the stock level approaches the maximum limit.
    • To check and receive purchased materials forwarded by the receiving department and to arrange for the storage in appropriate places.
    • To reserve a particular material for a specific job when so required.
    • To issue materials only in required quantities against authorised requisition notes/material lists.
    • To check the book balances, with the actual physical stock at frequent intervals for accuracy by way of internal control over wrong issues, pilferage, etc.

    Job Requirements

    • Bachelor's Degree in Building / Engineering or Industrial discipline or any related field
    • 3 - 4 years of working experience as a Purchasing Officer
    • Good knowledge of vendor sourcing practices (researching, evaluating and liaising with vendors)
    • Good analytical and critical thinking skills
    • Demonstrate a confident and mature approach to business dealings
    • Excellent at negotiating, networking and dealing with numbers as well as dealing with other factors such as sustainability, risk management and ethical issues.
