    Blasting Helper - Mines

    Job Summary

    • We are looking for a Blasting Helper to join our team at Dangote Cement Plc.
    • As a Blasting Helper, you will be responsible for assisting in filling blast holes with explosives and detonating explosives to dislodge limestone and rock.
    • You will ensure the proper handling and storage of explosives and accessories, as well as follow safety procedures to maintain a safe working environment.

    Key Duties And Responsibilities

    • Assist in loading explosives in blast holes by hand or direct movement of bulk explosives trucks to load holes
    • Assemble primer charges using selected detonators, fuses, detonating cords, and other materials
    • Handle, store, and transport explosives and accessories in accordance with regulations
    • Achieve good fragmentation through proper stemming and good connection at all times
    • Follow safety procedures and ensure that safety regulations are observed
    • Perform any other duties as assigned by the Blaster.

    Requirements

    • A Secondary School Certificate
    • Minimum of two (2) years of work experience in blasting or around any mining activities
    • Knowledge of explosives handling and storage regulations
    • Ability to follow safety procedures and maintain a safe working environment
    • Good communication and teamwork skills.

    HEMM Technician - Mines

    Job Summary

    • Responsible for ensuring that plant heavy equipment are in safe operating condition by conducting routine maintenance and scheduling needed repairs.

    Key Duties and Responsibilities

    • To carry out all types of repairs (emergency/running) and daily/periodic preventive maintenance of various make & types of heavy duty equipment , utilities, plants/vehicles in accordance with manufacturer’s guidance/recommendation and safe operating procedures to ensure optimum utilization and availability.
    • To ensure proper housekeeping during and after completion of jobs.
    • To give adequate on- the- job training to junior technician/helpers in order to develop them professionally.
    • To always ensure safety in using material handling equipment, tools etc.
    • Carry out performance appraisal and practical assessment of junior technicians/helpers/intending staff for promotion and employment respectively.
    • To use all the PPE as recommended by the Safety Policy of the company and report to the authorities concerned regarding the accidents and near miss incident.
    • To suggest to the management methods of improvements of maintenance practices.
    • To ensure consistent availability of HEMM for operation without interruption.
    • To diagnose the problem on diesel engine, hydraulic & transmission system and to initiate remedial actions appropriately.
    • To assist the supervisor/engineer for the spare parts planning.
    • Proper handling of tools provided them and to ensure right usage. Also responsible for getting the right tools for jobs at hand.
    • Compliance with ISO regulations.

    Requirements
    Education and Work Experience:

    • SSCE, National Diploma, Trade test-1, 2 & 3 in Mechanical Fitting / Mechanical Equipment Maintenance.
    • Minimum of (3 - 10) years experience in HEMM and LMV.
    • Should have a valid DRIVING LICENCE.

    Skills and Competencies:

    • Knowledge of repair and maintenance of plant heavy equipment.
    • Good oral and written communication skills.
    • Good teaming skills.
    • Baseline problem analysis and solving skills.

    Driller - Mines

    • As a Driller, you will be responsible for operating drilling equipment to bore blast holes in open-pit mines or quarries.
    • You will ensure the safe and efficient operation of the drilling machines, adhere to safety procedures, and achieve target penetration rates.

    Key Duties And Responsibilities

    Instrumentation Technician

    Job Summary

    • We are looking for a skilled Instrumentation Technician to join our dynamic team.
    • The successful candidate will perform maintenance, troubleshooting, calibration, and installation on a wide variety of instrumentation equipment used in our facilities.

    Key Duties and Responsibilities

    • Perform installation, calibration, and maintenance of instrumentation and control systems.

    Fixed Asset Manager

    Job Summary

    • The Fixed Asset Manager oversees the entire fixed asset management function, ensuring accurate tracking, valuation, capitalization, and reporting of all company fixed and intangible assets.
    • The role supports strategic decision-making by providing timely analysis, enforcing strong internal controls, and ensuring compliance with applicable accounting standards and policies.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Approve AUC (Asset Under Construction) codes and ensure proper account assignment for fixed asset-related PR/PO.
    • Establish, implement, and monitor systems of internal controls, procedures, and documentation for accurate fixed asset recording.
    • Review and approve periodic impairment assessments for tangible and intangible assets.
    • Oversee timely and accurate recording of asset acquisitions, transfers, capitalization, and disposals in the accounting system.
    • Monitor compilation of project costs into fixed asset accounts and ensure prompt closure of completed AUC projects.
    • Conduct periodic reviews of the fixed asset register to identify and validate asset disposals or write-offs.
    • Reconcile fixed asset subsidiary ledger balances with the general ledger on a monthly basis.
    • Oversee depreciation calculations and posting for all fixed, intangible, and ROU assets.
    • Prepare and review audit schedules related to fixed and intangible assets; liaise with internal and external auditors.
    • Review and reconcile specific general ledger accounts related to fixed asset activities.
    • Conduct and present analyses on fixed assets performance, utilization, and lifecycle for management decision-making.
    • Track capital expenditures and compare against approved capital budgets and management authorizations.
    • Recommend and drive updates to fixed asset accounting policies and processes in line with best practices and IFRS standards.
    • Lead, coach, and develop the fixed asset accounting team to ensure accurate reporting and compliance excellence.
    • Collaborate with Procurement,Projects, Finance, Asset and Operations teams to ensure proper tracking and safeguarding of company assets.

    Qualifications & Experience

    • Bachelor’s Degree in accounting/finance with ICAN/ACCA certification or advanced stage.
    • 3 - 5+ years managing large asset registers, WIP, reconciliations, and audits. 
    • Strong knowledge of IFRS (IAS 16, IAS 36, IAS 23) and fixed asset lifecycle processes.
    • Proficiency in SAP and advanced Excel. 
    • High attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and ability to work under pressure.
