Responsibilities

• Used to international codes and industry standards such as BS, Euro Codes, DEPs, GS, ITU-T, IEC, IEA/TIA, TEG, TDG, etc. that applies in the oil and gas industry.
• The Design Engineer is expected to be a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Telecommunication/Data communications systems covering the operation of telecommunication systems deployed across the Renaissance. This includes both onshore and offshore facilities and the SME will also be able to provide project design assurance and support for Capital Projects and IT Project domains.
• Deliver and execute the Discipline Controls and Assurance Framework (DCAF) for Telecoms / Datcoms as a Design Engineer throughout the project phases with assurance of supplier plan and solution designs on robustness of solution from a design, operability, and maintainability perspective
• Design/Review/Approve and Implement engineering designs for telecom / datacoms systems
• Collaborate with project managers, field engineers, and clients to ensure design requirements are met.
• Prepare bills of materials (BOM), cost estimates, and technical reports.
• Support the implementation and testing of telecom systems and provide technical guidance during installation.

Qualifications

• Interested candidates should possess a B.ENG (HONS) / B.Sc Degree / HND qualification in Electrical & Electronic Engineering / Communications / Computer Engineering or Sciences
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in IT/Telecom engineering design which will include FEED and Detailed Engineering Design deliverables. The deliverables will include surveys reports, Specifications, Block Diagrams, Data sheet, Wiring & Termination Drawing, Equipment Layout Drawings, MDR, CTR, DMD, Commissioning, etc.
• Relevant certifications such as CCNP, CCDP, CCIE
• Experience with cloud networking (AWS, Azure).
• Familiarity with fiber optics, microwave, and satellite communication systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, and deploy telecommunications systems including VoIP, PBX, fiber optics, microwave, PAGA, UHF Radios, Local Area Networks and wireless networks.
• Lead the planning and execution of telecom infrastructure upgrades and expansions.
• Monitor network performance and troubleshoot complex issues before handover to operations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate telecom systems with IT and business applications.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and internal policies.
• Manage vendor relationships and evaluate new telecom technologies and solutions.
• Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers and support staff.
• Develop and maintain detailed documentation including network diagrams, configurations, and procedures.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in telecommunications engineering, with at least 2 years in a senior or lead role.
• Strong knowledge of telecom protocols (e.g., SIP, SS7, MPLS), network design, and routing/switching technologies.
• Hands-on experience with telecom hardware and software from major vendors (e.g., Cisco, Aviat, Alcatel, HP-Aruba, Motorola, Avaya).
• Proficiency in network monitoring and diagnostic tools.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and project management skills.
