    Mechanical Technician

    • Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical equipment used in cassava processing and starch production.
    • Diagnose and resolve mechanical faults quickly to minimize production downtime and operational disruptions.
    • Monitor equipment performance and identify early signs of wear, misalignment, or failure.
    • Support installation, calibration, and commissioning of new and existing mechanical systems.
    • Maintain proper lubrication, alignment, and servicing of machines to ensure efficient operation.
    • Collaborate with Production teams to ensure machines operate within required performance standards.
    • Follow safety procedures and maintenance protocols to prevent accidents and equipment damage.
    • Maintain accurate maintenance records, service logs, and equipment documentation.
    • Assist in reducing mechanical-related waste, rework, and inefficiencies within the plant.
    • Support continuous improvement initiatives aimed at improving equipment reliability and process flow.

    Qualifications

    • National Diploma (ND), Higher National Diploma (HND), or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
    • Minimum of 3–5 years’ mechanical maintenance experience in FMCG, food processing, agro-processing, or industrial manufacturing.
    • Strong hands-on experience with pumps, conveyors, motors, gearboxes, dryers, and processing equipment.
    • Ability to diagnose mechanical faults and carry out effective repairs under minimal supervision.
    • Good understanding of preventive maintenance practices in a factory environment.
    • Familiarity with safety standards and maintenance procedures in processing plants.
    • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and equipment manuals.
    • Strong attention to detail, discipline, and problem-solving skills
    • Willingness to work in a shift-based industrial environment.

    Production Manager

    The Production Manager is responsible for leading Matna’s cassava starch processing operations to achieve consistent output, optimal yield, strict quality compliance, and disciplined factory performance.
    This role ensures that production activities are executed with precision, safety, and process control, translating raw cassava into high-grade food-quality starch with minimal waste, reduced downtime, and efficient resource utilization.

    We are seeking talented professionals who are passionate about socio-economic development through agricultural and Agro-allied investments. 

    Job Description

    • Lead daily production operations to ensure consistent output aligned with quality and safety standards.
    • Drive process discipline across all stages of cassava starch processing to optimize yield and reduce waste.
    • Plan and coordinate production schedules in line with raw material availability and commercial demand.
    • Collaborate with Maintenance to minimize equipment downtime and ensure reliable plant performance.
    • Work closely with QA to ensure all output meets food-grade and export quality requirements.
    • Monitor raw material usage, process flow, and resource utilization to improve cost efficiency.
    • Supervise production teams and shift supervisors to maintain accountability and operational reliability.
    • Identify and implement process improvements that enhance efficiency, reduce rework, and strengthen production flow.
    • Ensure proper documentation of production activities, batch records, and operational reports.
    • Enforce safety practices and operational standards across the production floor.
    • Coordinate with Supply Chain to prevent overproduction, stock aging, and production bottlenecks.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Food Science, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
    • Minimum of 10–15 years’ production experience within FMCG, food processing, agro-processing, or industrial manufacturing.
    • At least 5 years in a production leadership role within a factory or processing plant.
    • Strong understanding of process control, yield optimization, and waste reduction in a manufacturing environment.
    • Experience working closely with QA, Maintenance, and Supply Chain teams.
    • Proven ability to lead shift-based production teams with discipline and accountability.
    • Good knowledge of safety standards, food-grade compliance, and operational documentation.
    • Strong problem-solving, leadership, and decision-making skills.
    • High level of process discipline, organization, and attention to detail.
