General supervision of all accounts & finance activities of the group of companies
General management of the day-to-day activities of the Accounts and Finance team.
Continuous Review of the Company’s accounting Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) in line with best practice and statutory requirements.
Drive 100% compliance of accounts team with the Company’s finance and accounts SOP, policies, rules and regulations.
Oversee reconciliation of all ledger accounts.
Conduct review and evaluations to allow for cost reduction opportunities.
Liaise with relevant in-house departments (e.g Contracts, Service..etc) to ensure that all receivables due to the company are invoiced accurately and collected.
Provide financial advice and support to all departments as and when necessary, towards proper budget management and cost control.
Develop (when required) and maintain a good relationship with Financial Service Providers (banks, insurers, Financial regulatory agencies, etc).
Review, Negotiate and Reconcile bank charges.
Collate, review and interpret financial data and information with 100% accuracy.
Review financial records for predicting financial trends and advising Management towards profit maximization and loss reduction.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance from a recognised University
MBA, MSC in Accounting and Finance
ICAN, ACCA, CITN or any other related qualification
Minimum 10 years experience in a similar senior position within an international group
Knowledge and experience with Opticon ERP accounting module
Excellent knowledge of SAP Business one accounting package
Excellent knowledge of applicable tax laws and other statutory requirements of companies registered in Nigeria.
Knowledge of other West African Countries’ laws and standards would be an added advantage.
Excellent knowledge of relevant Accounting standards, best practice protocol and ethics codes
Ensure Purchase Requests are achieved by an efficient supply chain management
Ensure proper tendering and contracting process
Optimize logistics and warehousing
Ensure SCM team mentoring and coaching
Respect of basic maintenance standards and compliance with health and safety regulations.
Performing a daily inspection of the area under his responsibility especially the warehouse(s)
Coordinating and maintaining material and equipment.
Keep the work area clean and tidy
Good and safe storekeeping
Purchasing and warehouses team adherence to required process laid down by SCM
Possible disciplinary deviation identified, followed up with HR and closed timely
Follow up delivery of the right parts and at the right time
Clear schedule maintained from PR to PO creation through material delivery till PO is closed and vendor paid.
Follow the team PRs and POs backlog Management
Organize and lead the SCM weekly meeting while SCM is on time off
Ensure vendors performance regular assessments
Ensure NC are issued when required and properly closed
Manage prepayments process for international vendors
Ensure prepayment meeting and reports properly issued to allow weekly prepayments release
Verify prepayment documentation is provided to finance and files are closed
Effective follow-up and overseen on purchasing, contracting and tendering activities
Ensure compliance of purchasing and contracting process as per internal procedure and external regulations
Responsible for the correct application of all SCM and Logistics contracts (where applicable to the scope consideration) in the Organization
Prepare tenders for contracts to renew, or new ones to implement
Perform proper analysis, award recommendations and performance assessment when required
Responsible for lifting Operations and the management of hazardous material/chemicals within the Warehouse
Ensure ERP (ORACLE) and any other system are properly implemented, managed and developed to allow efficient work and reporting
Desired Skills and Experience
Bachelor's degree in SCM, Logistics , Business Administration or any related discipline is desirebale
Master's degree is a plus
Additional Certificates and/or diplomas in Supply Chain Management or related fields will be an added advantage
Minimum of 7 years experience in a managerial role in Purchasing / Logistics / Supply Chain Management in an International Organization preferably a Marine Organization.
Ideally 10 years plus experience within the field of supply chain / logistics or procurement.
Experience within the Nigerian content would be preferable
