    Finance Officer

    Key Responsibilities

    • Prepare cash count & bank reconciliation statement at the end of each month;
    • To ensure bank books & cash book are closed, reconciled & sent to capital on monthly basis together with the bank reconciliation & cash counts;
    • Ensure that all the accountancy documents are scanned and archived before sending the originals to the capital;
    •  Manage the advances, ensuring invoices are received and that they are consistent with the ACTION AGAINST HUNGER's procedures (invoice accurate and signed);
    • Verify accuracy of and pay vouchers for the allowances of stakeholder, seconded staff and daily workers;
    • Prepare the Bi-weekly cash transfer request to be submitted to the HOD Finance;
    • Verify & cross check all base monthly financial documents are correctly allocated & completed as per ACTION AGAINST HUNGER archiving guidelines;
    • Archive financial files as per ACTION AGAINST HUNGER archiving guidelines, keep copies at the base & send original to capital on monthly basis;
    • Organize & lead monthly BFU meetings at the base & provide updates to Deputy HOD Finance for each grant;
    • Monitor level of over/underspending per budget lines and provide feedback to deputy Finance HoD;
    • Inform the Deputy HOD Finance for any information which impact the grant financial status;
    • Review donor guidelines and ensure flexibility is respected;
    • Alert on suspicion of fraud and corruption through the appropriate channel;
    • Sensitize the team on the management of fraud and corruption risks.

    Position Requirements

    • Minimum of a Bachelor's  Degree equivalent in Accounting/Finance;
    • Minimum of 2 years' experience in NGO financial management;
    • Exceptional organization, time management, and attention to detail;
    • Professionalism, honesty, reliability, autonomy & strong sense of responsibility;
    • Very good communication & training skills;
    •  Ability to maintain confidentiality;
    • Strong computer skills particularly in MS Excel, literacy and numeracy;
    • Fluent in English;
    • Committed to ACF values;
    • Capacity of analysis, synthesis and reporting;
    • Strong accounting skills;
    • Prior experience in NGOs/INGOs;
    • Experience with SAGA accounting system;
    • Previous Knowledge of donors environment;
    • Experience with computerized accounting systems; knowledge of SAGA would be a plus;
    • Exceptional organization and planning skills, ability to manage and follow work plans
    • Highly developed interpersonal, communication, able to negotiate, influence, give effective feedback, be a team player;

    Starting Basic Salary and Benefit

    Human Resources Assistant

    Key Responsibilities

    • Liaise with Logistics to ensure that faulty and damaged equipment are replaced or repaired;
    • Maintain an updated base staff contact list;
    • Manage the stocking of stationery store in coordination with Logistics and place appropriate order to re-stock supplies;
    • Review and compile relevant recruitment documents in close collaboration with the Abuja recruitment team;
    • Create employee personnel files for all new joiners on a monthly basis;
    • Request, compile and update employee personnel files with all relevant new joiners documentation – employee personnel data form, HR policy acknowledgement form, Code of Conduct acknowledge form etc - in liaison with relevant base HR teams;
    • Update all current employee personnel files with newly completed revised HR documents as required;
    • Maintain an electronic and hard copy filing system for personnel files;
    • Create and maintain an organized filing system for all leavers in the mission, ensuring files for all leavers in a month are separated and filed accordingly;
    • Facilitate registration of new joiners on health insurance platform in coordination with Abuja HR team;
    • Track and maintain participants records for training and performance appraisals (PAs, 10 minutes conversation);
    • Provide administrative support for staff welfare programs/activities;
    • Support in seconded staff monthly clearances;
    • Place orders for business cards and ID cards for new staff;
    • Manage the HR monthly GTA validation.

    Position Requirements

    • Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in fields related to HR, Administration and Management;
    • 1 year work experience with at least 1 year in a related role;
    • Understanding of national labor law and employment norms and practices;
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
    • Approachable, diplomatic, able to work effectively in diverse, cross-cultural teams in a complex, multi-site work environment;
    • Computer literate including all Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook);
    • Excellent attention to detail, highly organized, rigorous, self-motivated, strong sense of responsibility, ability to work independently;
    • Able to maintain confidentiality;
    • Capacity for analysis, synthesis and reporting of large amounts of information;
    • Previous experience working for INGOs an asset, particularly health related INGOs;
    • Fluency in one or more National/regional languages an asset;
    • Working experience with Homere payroll software.

    WASH Engineer

    Job Brief

    • Action Against Hunger is currently looking to fill the role of a WASH Engineer, who will be responsible to ensure the sustainable implementation of WASH technical activities to achieve the nutrition security.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Visiting sites and ensure quality assurance of  WASH construction being delivered and adherence to design specifications;
    • Coordinating technical workshops including electrification in the targeted health facilities and schools with surrounding/close by communities;
    • Assisting the Line manager in the selection, design and construction of water systems, using ground water or surface water, including abstraction, storage, treatment and distribution for new systems or rehabilitation of existing systems;
    • Provide technical assistance to the Line manager to assess sanitation needs, and design and implement the most appropriate form of sanitation system, in consultation with male and female beneficiaries, which includes excreta disposal, refuse disposal, vector control and drainage;
    • Preparing training tools on relevant technical topics and conduct trainings for both internal staff and external stakeholders;
    • Responsible for managing WASH technical assistance and technicians.
    • Liaising closely with the WASH PHP team, nutrition team and relevant stakeholders throughout the planning, design and implementation stages of the WASH technical activities;
    • Ensuring that effective communication and networking is developed and maintained through partnership and collaboration;
    • Working with local Government and sectoral stakeholders/counterparts to exchange information on WASH technical implementation status;
    • Building a data base of technical support projects and share with relevant stakeholders especially for eventual handover of facilities;
    • Submit technical report and consumption report to the WASH Programme Manager (Upon request);
    • Liaising with Other Team members to develop trainings , Monitoring and Evaluation reports;
    • Assisting in the preparation of weekly, monthly and quarterly progress reports;
    • To support line manager in maintaining regular contact with local stakeholders including Government Ministries.

    Position Requirements

    • Candidate should possess a Bachelor's Degree / HND in Civil Engineering, Building and other related fields;
    • Previous experience in supervising drilling and construction activities;
    • Capacity to be flexible and adaptable;
    • Three years relevant work experience;
    • Microsoft Office and designing software skills (AutoCAD, Outlook, Excel, Power Point, Word);
    • Willing and able to be based and travel regularly within remote areas, where services are limited;
    • Fluency in Hausa and English.
