    New Product Development Manager

    JOB SUMMARY: The New Product Manager reports to the Deputy Managing director and helps to develop new and improved products for AACE Foods. He/She will work with stakeholders across the organization to improve existing products or develop and test new products.  This is a cross functional role that aims to bring disciplines together to sign off each aspect of new product introduction.  An innovator and facilitator with a creative but practical disposition.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: He/She will be:
    Accountable and Responsible for:

    • Providing a feasibility assessment for new products proposed by the marketing team.
    • Overseeing the cross functional implementation of the agreed plans concerning Management Approved new products, especially with regards to timing and follow through (Project Management).
    • Providing input for the design, development, refinement, and implementation of new products and working with production to identify process improvement.

    Accountable for:

    • Creating and managing the new product development pipeline portfolio.
    • Maintaining knowledge on all regulatory issues as relating to the company’s products and ensuring compliance.
    • Recommending the prioritization of new concepts/products through the development process which includes:
    • Formula and costing creation presented by finance
    • Review of Customer/Market testing completed by marketing
    • Production Scale up assessed by the factory.

    Responsible for:

    • Collaborating cross-functionally to drive the Customer to Concept process to bring new products to market.

    EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

    • First degree in Food Science and Technology or related fields.
    • Relevant certifications will be an advantage.
    • Previous experience in New Product Development

    SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

    • Creativity and the ability to think outside the box.
    • Excellent project management skills.
    • Ability to work cross functionally and ‘influence’ more than direct
    • Fast paced and analytical.

    Financial Reporting Accountant

    Job Summary:

    The Financial reporting accountant reports directly to the Finance manager and is responsible for overseeing the daily accounting process, month-end reporting and month-end closure in the Finance Department.

    Responsible and Accountable for:

    • Ensuring accuracy and timely delivery of account reconciliations, journal entries and data compilation and analysis.
    • Ensuring achievement of all accounting, financial and operational targets to achieve organization and accounting objectives.
    • Organizing internal audits.

    Accountable for:

    • Developing monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and performing analysis for senior management.
    • Designing sales reports and administration of general ledger reconciliations.
    • Maintaining accuracy in all asset files, balance sheets, documentation and bank accounts.
    • Managing schedules for all filing deadlines and ensuring compliance to procedural and reporting standards.
    • Forecasting costs and revenues and analyzing financial trends.
    • Preparation of budgets.
    • Performing month-end and year-end close processes.

    Education and experience:

    • Degree in Accounting or related field.
    • ICAN/ACCA qualified.
    • Appropriate and relevant experience as financial reporting accountant in manufacturing sector.

    Skills and Knowledge:

    • Sound knowledge of accounting principles
    • Very good experience of financial reporting procedures
    • Very good knowledge of budgeting and budgetary control process
    • Good attitude and approach to work
    • Ability to learn and unlearn with ease

    Factory Build Project Manager

    JOB SUMMARY:

    He/She and will oversee all aspect of building a new factory on a greenfield site constructed at Sagamu, Ogun State and work closely with senior company personnel, engineers and architect to develop plans, finalize equipment selection; oversee factory build and equipment installation.
    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: He/She will be:
    Accountable and Responsible for:

    • Completing analysis and documentation of the feasibility phase of the project.
    • Determining potential impact of technical specification on factory design.
    • Identifying and engaging the architect to prepare preliminary architectural drawings for the new factory, taking into account factory equipment requirements.
    • Obtaining permits and licenses.
    • Complying with legal requirements, building and safety codes, and other regulations.
    • Overseeing the processing of the factory Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA), and other regulatory, state, and statutory building permits.
    • Identifying and engaging the mechanical, electrical, structural, and quantity surveyor consultants, as well as the builder for the factory.
    • Coordinating development and presentation for approval of the final version factory drawings.
    • Project Managing all aspects of the factory construction.
    • Preparing cost estimates, budgets, and work timetables.
    • Recommending tools, materials and equipment and track inventory.
    • Ensuring all parties meet their contractual conditions of performance and recommend (to the MD) of actions needed to rectify if not met.
    • Reviewing the work progress on daily basis and report weekly and monthly.
    • Reporting works progress and budget matters to the MD and Factory build board committee.
    • Analyzing, managing and mitigating risks and recommending appropriate actions to the MD for approval
    • Ensuring quality construction standards and the use of proper construction techniques.
    • Developing the Site to ensure efficient use of raw materials, finished goods, truck movement and general flow of goods and personnel.

    Responsible for:

    • Negotiating terms of agreements and draft contracts
    • Engaging with equipment vendors to finalize selection and to clarify technical specifications.
    • Oversee the installation of the factory equipment, and the training of staff who will be responsible for operating the machinery.

    EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

    • Preferably an Engineering, Manufacturing or science-based degree
    • Appropriate years of proven work experience in supervising projects.

    SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

    • Expert knowledge of building products, construction details and relevant codes, regulations, and quality standards.
    • Strategic planning and budgeting.
    • Knowledge of Architecture, Engineering and construction skills.
    • Organization, implementation and excellent analytical skills.
    • Business negotiation and Project Management skills.
    • Must be dependable and able to deliver quality in a timely manner.
    • Effective communication and leadership skills.
    • People management, delegation and decision-making skills.
    • Good knowledge of all Microsoft office applications
