    Production WS Operator (Baling) 

    Position Overview 

    • The Production WS Operator (Baling) is responsible for operating baling machines and carrying out baling activities on the Workstation (WS) production line. The role ensures that finished materials are compacted, tied, labeled, and packaged according to approved specifications and baling standards. The operator supports efficient material flow, maintains equipment cleanliness, and ensures that baling operations meet production and quality requirements while adhering to EHS protocols. 
    • The position reports to the Shift Leader/ associated senior management. 

    Key Accountabilities 

    • Operate baling machines to compact finished WS materials according to approved baling specifications and work instructions. 
    • Ensure each bale meets required weight, dimensions, compression levels, and packaging standards. 
    • Secure bales using approved tying, strapping, or sealing methods to maintain product integrity during handling and transport. 
    • Label bales accurately with required identification tags, batch numbers, and production details. 
    • Conduct in-process quality checks during baling to detect damage, incorrect material, or poor packing. 
    • Ensure continuous availability of materials and support proper flow from sewing to baling stations. 
    • Perform basic machine checks, cleaning, and adjustments before and after baling activities. 
    • Report immediately any machine malfunction, abnormal noise, or mechanical issue to the Shift Leader and Maintenance. 
    • Maintain accurate records of baled quantities when required to support production reporting. 
    • Ensure compliance with EHS guidelines, including proper lifting techniques and use of PPE. 
    • Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work area in line with housekeeping and 5S standards. 
    • Participate in training programs to improve baling efficiency, quality awareness, and equipment use. 
    • Support continuous improvement initiatives to reduce defects, improve packaging consistency, and optimize workflow. 
    • Assist with material handling tasks such as stacking, sorting, and moving bales safely within production areas. 

    Key Competencies

    Experience & Education 

    • Minimum of a secondary school certificate or vocational training in industrial production or related fields. 
    • Minimum 1-3 years’ experience in baling, packaging, or industrial production operations. 
    • Familiarity with baling equipment, packaging procedures, and production workflows. 
    • Ability to operate simple machinery and follow technical instructions. 

    Relevant Certifications: 

    Nigerian Primary (Preferred): 

    • Basic HSE awareness certification 
    • Any recognized vocational training in industrial operations 

    International (Added Advantage): 

    • Packaging or materials handling training from recognized institutions

    Production WS Operators (Sewing)

    Position Overview 

    • The Production WS Operator (Sewing) is responsible for performing sewing operations within the Workstation (WS) production line in accordance with approved specifications, quality requirements, and production targets. The role operates industrial sewing machines, ensures seam accuracy, and performs in-process checks to maintain consistent product quality. The operator supports smooth workflow, proper material handling, and adherence to EHS standards on the production floor. 
    • The position reports to the Shift Leader/ associated senior management. 

    Key Accountabilities 

    • Operate industrial sewing machines to stitch components according to approved sewing specifications and work instructions. 
    • Inspect sewn components for seam quality, alignment, accuracy, and defect prevention throughout the production process. 
    • Follow approved sewing patterns, templates, and technical requirements for each assigned product. 
    • Ensure timely completion of sewing tasks to meet daily production targets. 
    • Perform in-line checks to identify sewing deviations and report abnormalities to the Shift Leader immediately. 
    • Maintain proper tension, thread quality, and machine settings required for optimal sewing output. 
    • Handle materials carefully to prevent damage or contamination during the sewing process. 
    • Ensure sewing machines are kept clean, properly threaded, and safe for operation. 
    • Conduct basic machine checks before and after use and escalate any malfunction or irregularity to Maintenance. 
    • Comply with EHS requirements, ensuring the use of PPE and adherence to safe operating procedures. 
    • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, reduce rework, and improve product quality. 
    • Participate in on-the-job training and skill development programs as required. 
    • Maintain a clean and organized workstation in line with housekeeping standards. 
    • Accurately record completed tasks when required to support production documentation. 

    Key Competencies 

    • Proficiency in operating industrial sewing machinery 
    • High level of attention to detail 
    • Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity 
    • Understanding of sewing quality standards 
    • Ability to follow instructions and technical specifications 
    • Discipline, reliability, and teamwork 
    • Basic problem-solving skills 
    • Good time management 

    Experience & Education 

    • Minimum of a secondary school certificate or vocational training in garment production or industrial sewing. 
    • Minimum 1-3 years’ sewing experience in a manufacturing environment (textile, garment, or industrial sewing operations preferred). 
    • Ability to read and interpret basic sewing patterns and production instructions. 
    • Familiarity with industrial sewing machine operation, maintenance basics, and quality expectations. 

    Relevant Certifications: 

    • Nigerian Primary (Preferred): 
    • Basic vocational training in garment/sewing operations 
    • Basic HSE awareness certification 
    • International (Added Advantage): 
    • Industrial sewing or textile production certificates from recognized institutions
