    Optometrist Assistant

    • Clinix Healthcare is seeking a dedicated, detail-oriented, and patient-focused Optometrist Assistant to support our eye care team. We are committed to providing high-quality vision care services in a welcoming and professional environment. We are looking for a reliable individual with a strong foundation in life sciences who is passionate about assisting in eye examinations, patient care, and contributing to excellent optical and vision health outcomes.

    Responsibilities

    • Assist the Optometrist during eye examinations by preparing patients, explaining procedures, and ensuring patient comfort.
    • Perform preliminary vision tests including visual acuity, auto-refraction, non-contact tonometry, pupillary distance measurement, and color vision screening.
    • Take detailed patient history, including ocular, medical, family, and lifestyle information.
    • Assist with contact lens fittings, insertions, removals, and patient education on lens care and hygiene.
    • Conduct pre- and post-examination patient education on eye health, glasses/contact lens care, and follow-up instructions.
    • Maintain, clean, and prepare diagnostic equipment and instruments for use.
    • Manage patient flow, schedule follow-up appointments, and handle basic administrative tasks related to optical services.
    • Assist in frame selection, lens edging preparation, and basic optical dispensing under supervision.
    • Ensure strict adherence to infection control, sterilization protocols, and patient confidentiality standards.
    • Support inventory management of optical supplies, contact lenses, and consumables.

    Requirements & Skills

    • Strong interest in eye care, vision science, and patient interaction.
    • Excellent communication skills with a friendly, empathetic, and professional demeanor.
    • Good hand-eye coordination, attention to detail, and ability to follow precise instructions.
    • Basic computer literacy for recording patient data and using practice management software.
    • Ability to multitask in a clinical setting while maintaining accuracy and patient comfort.
    • Commitment to learning, teamwork, and upholding high standards of care and hygiene.
    • Prior experience in an optical, optometric, or healthcare support role will be an added advantage.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree (BSc) in Human Physiology, Human Anatomy, Biological Sciences, Biochemistry, Nursing, or any closely related field from a recognized institution.
    • Minimum of 1 year of relevant work experience in a healthcare or clinical support role is an added advantage (fresh graduates with strong academic performance and enthusiasm are encouraged to apply).
    • Good command of English; additional local language skills are desirable.

    Dialysis Nurse

    • Clinix Healthcare is seeking a competent, compassionate, and experienced Dialysis Nurse to join our renal care team at our Awka facility. We are dedicated to providing life-sustaining hemodialysis services with the highest standards of patient safety, infection control, and personalized care. We are looking for a dedicated nurse who is passionate about supporting patients with chronic kidney disease and end-stage renal disease through expert dialysis care.

    Responsibilities

    • Prepare, operate, and monitor hemodialysis machines and related equipment during dialysis sessions.
    • Assess patients before, during, and after dialysis treatment, including vital signs, vascular access condition, weight, and overall clinical status.
    • Administer prescribed medications, anticoagulants, and fluids as per physician orders during dialysis.
    • Cannulate and decannulate arteriovenous fistulas, grafts, and central venous catheters using aseptic techniques.
    • Monitor for and promptly respond to dialysis-related complications such as hypotension, cramps, clotting, air embolism, or dialyzer reactions.
    • Educate patients and families on renal disease management, dialysis procedures, dietary restrictions, fluid control, and vascular access care.
    • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of treatment parameters, patient responses, and any adverse events in the electronic health record.
    • Ensure strict adherence to infection prevention protocols, water quality standards, and dialysis unit safety guidelines.
    • Collaborate with nephrologists, dietitians, social workers, and other healthcare team members to optimize patient outcomes.
    • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, infection control audits, and continuous education in renal nursing.

    Requirements & Skills

    • Strong clinical knowledge of hemodialysis principles, renal physiology, and common complications in dialysis patients.
    • Excellent venipuncture and vascular access management skills with a focus on patient comfort and safety.
    • Ability to remain calm and respond quickly in emergency situations during dialysis.
    • High level of attention to detail, accuracy in monitoring, and documentation.
    • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment and manage multiple patients simultaneously.
    • Commitment to infection control, patient safety, and ethical nursing practice.

    Qualifications

    • Registered Nurse (RN) with current license from the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN).
    • Valid practicing license and good standing with NMCN.
    • Minimum of 2–3 years of clinical experience as a Dialysis Nurse in a recognized hemodialysis unit.
    • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification; ACLS is an added advantage.
    • Experience with Fresenius, Baxter, or similar dialysis machines is desirable.
