- The role requires the development and implementation of capacity development models, initiiatives and programs to enhance employee skills and knowledge.
Learning and Development Job Description
- The Learning and Development HR Specialist will also be responsible for identifying capacity-building and development needs, creating training materials, and assessing the effectiveness of training programs
- Design, develop, and implement capacity development programs and workshops for staff and volunteers.
- Assess training needs through surveys, interviews, and consultation with managers.
- Align performance management with learning initiatives
- Create competency frameworks and implement in line with learning and development
- Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs through participant feedback and post-training assessments.
- Stay informed about best practices in learning and development, as well as trends in the NGO sector.
- Collaborate with external partners, such as training providers or subject matter experts, to enhance training offerings.
- Maintain learning dashboards and generate reports on activities and outcomes.
- Create succession planning frameworks using LnD as a baseline
Human Resource Job Description
- Coordinate and conduct targeted recruitment efforts for program and project hires in the management development space
- conduct new-employee orientations; monitor career-path programs, employee relations counseling, outplacement counseling
- Work with HR manager to develop and implement personnel policies and processes
- Supervise a smart team of HR officers
- Other HR and LnD tasks
Qualifications
- Strong understanding of Human Resources with a core concentration in learning and development.
- Experience in creating and implementing training programs
- Knowledge of project and program recruiting
- Strong knowledge of HR dashboard analytics
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience in the NGO sector is preferred
- Attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- A Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is required
- Master's Degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field is preferred
Other relevant skills that would be beneficial include experience in data analytics, project management, and leadership development.
Note: You must have Learning and Development experience in the HR space with a minimum of five years, and also in the consulting sphere or NGO space.

Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership:
- Develop and execute a comprehensive business strategy that aligns with the company's overall goals and objectives.
- Provide strategic guidance to the local team, ensuring the effective implementation of strategies and initiatives.
Business Development:
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities, clients, and partnerships to expand the company's presence and market share.
- Lead client acquisition efforts, including proposal development, presentations, and negotiations.

- In collaboration with Sydani Global, leading the fundraising efforts for the company's programs and projects in Africa.
- Being responsible for the expansion and maintenance of the relevant network with the private sector, donor base, civil society, and governments at all levels.
- Sharing knowledge and outcomes externally and internally from the organization through events and internal presentations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in business, health development space, management, or a related field (MBA).
- Proven experience in a leadership role within the management consulting industry.
- Strong knowledge of the Kenyan business environment and market trends.

What you bring
- At least 15 years of relevant working experience in the NGO and management consulting sectors, out of which ten of which must have been in senior and leadership roles.
- A Master’s degree
- Long experience working in international companies, and organizations or working in different countries and cultures, particularly in Africa.
- Strong background in business development.
- Entrepreneurial mindset.
- A past member of one of the big fours will be an asset
- Experience in business development, building, and implementation of data-driven and innovation-oriented projects, and programs.
- A thorough understanding of project models, and 10 years experience of working with management consulting firms.
- Proven track record and high proficiency in project management across various stages of project development, implementation, and delivery.
- Strong budget management experience and adherence to governance, detail-oriented, and able to work well in evolving circumstances.
- Experience in establishing, developing, and managing coalitions and partnerships.
- Proven leadership skills and management experience, including the ability to develop team performance and a genuine desire to coach and mentor.
- Strong senior networks with large-scale international agencies as well as in governments, knowledge institutes, and civil society organizations.
- Have evidence of actual proposals/grants developed, led, and won (combined minimum of $1m)
