Our client in the Construction and Real Estate industry is seeking a highly experienced and innovative Head of Civil/Structural Engineering to lead the planning, execution, and delivery of construction projects from the ground up. This role is for a dynamic individual with deep technical knowledge in structural design, site supervision, and civil works, alongside strong leadership and project management skills. The ideal candidate will bring a hands-on approach to engineering, lead a multidisciplinary team, and ensure timely, safe, and high-quality project execution.
Summary of Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Management
- Lead and supervise the civil/structural engineering team across all projects.
- Mentor junior engineers and ensure team performance aligns with project goals.
Project Oversight
- Oversee planning, design, and execution of civil and structural engineering projects.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, codes, and regulatory requirements.
Design Review & Approval
- Approve structural designs, calculations, and drawings.
- Conduct technical reviews and value engineering to optimize project efficiency.
Coordination & Collaboration
- Liaise with architects, consultants, contractors, and clients.
- Coordinate with other engineering disciplines to ensure integrated project delivery.
Quality Assurance & Compliance
- Implement quality control measures and engineering best practices.
- Ensure all work meets legal, environmental, and sustainability standards.
Budget & Resource Management
- Manage project budgets, resource allocation, and timelines.
- Support cost estimation and risk assessment activities.
Innovation & Continuous Improvement
- Promote the use of modern engineering tools, software, and methodologies.
- Lead efforts for continuous process and design improvements
Requirements
- 8-10 years of relevant experience, with at least 2–3 years in a senior or leadership position.
- Bachelor\'s or master\'s degree in civil or Structural Engineering.
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience, with at least 2–3 years in a senior or leadership position.
- Registered with a recognized professional body (e.g., COREN or equivalent).
- Proficiency in structural engineering software (AutoCAD, Revit, STAAD. Pro, ETABS, etc.).
- Strong expertise in building from foundation to finish, including concrete works, reinforcements, and structural detailing.
- Proven track record in managing construction sites and engineering teams.
- Excellent project management, leadership, and communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in architectural finishing, construction detailing, and experience with POP (Plaster of Paris), tiling, and specialized finishing elements such as starlight lines. This role requires creativity, precision, and the ability to bring aesthetic vision into functional and beautifully crafted realities.
Summary of Responsibilities
Interior & Finishing Design
- Develop and implement high-quality interior and architectural finishing designs.
- Select materials, color palettes, textures, and surface finishes to meet aesthetic and functional goals.
Technical Detailing & Documentation
- Prepare detailed drawings, specifications, and schedules for finishing works.
- Ensure technical accuracy in all design and construction documents.
Site Coordination & Supervision
- Oversee on-site finishing work to ensure compliance with design intent and quality standards.
- Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and suppliers to ensure timely and accurate execution.
Material Selection & Vendor Liaison
- Research and recommend suitable finishing materials, fixtures, and fittings.

- Incorporate feedback and ensure client satisfaction throughout the finishing phase.
Sustainability & Innovation
- Advocate for sustainable finishing solutions and innovative materials.
- Stay updated with industry trends in interior design and architectural finishes.
Requirements
- Minimum of 8 years’ experience in architectural finishing, interior detailing, and construction supervision.
- Bachelor’s degree in architecture or a related field.
- Proven experience with POP design, tiling installation, and high-end finishing works.
- Strong knowledge of construction and architectural detailing.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, or other architectural design software is a plus.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and team collaboration skills.
- Strong attention to detail, creativity, and a passion for quality workmanship.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience working on residential, commercial, or luxury building projects.
- Familiarity with Nigerian building codes and finishing material sourcing.
