    Operator, Packaging - Port Harcourt Plant

    Location: Port Harcourt, Rivers

    Job Description

    • Opportunity exists for an Operator - Packaging at International Breweries Plc Port Harcourt, reporting to the Packaging Team Leader.
    • The Operator will operate Unpacker / Packer and Depalletizer / Palletizer machines and the execution of quality control checks and analyses, including coaching of other team members and supporting the Process Artisan in carrying out asset care activities

    Responsibilities
    Amongst other duties, the job holder will be responsible for the following:

    Shift Based Production, Performance and Processes:

    • Interpret and implement plan for shift
    • Monitor processes on shift for Unpacker/Packer and Depalletizer/Palletizer machines
    • Ensure process quality and productivity
    • Ensure and maintain a safe and healthy work environment
    • Co-ordinate autonomous maintenance and cleaning

    • Conduct regular audits of calibration procedures of shift based production teams and communicating results

    Problem Solving:

    Electrician, Packaging - Port Harcourt Plant

    Job Description

    • Opportunity exists for an Electrician – Packaging at International Breweries Plc Port Harcourt, reporting to the Maintenance Controller.
    • The Electrician – Packaging will provide specialized electrical artisan skill and knowledge to the shift team, and to support the operations, maintenance of the Packaging plant.
    • Perform and assist in problem solving and the execution of quality control checks and analyses, including coaching of other team members and support asset care activities

    Responsibilities
    Amongst other duties, the job holder will be responsible for the following:

    Operational Support:

    • Provide specialist support to the shift-based teams during operations
    • Assist as functional expert in problem solving
    • This must be undertaken in support of the Process Artisan. This role can also be the Process Artisan on shift.

    Planned Maintenance:

    • Take part in maintenance planning meeting, contributing suggestions and clarifying work required
    • Carry out work during the planned maintenance outage in accordance with the planned maintenance schedule issued by the Main Planner
    • Partake in maintenance postmortems to feedback problems, opportunities and learnings from maintenance activities.

    Routine Maintenance:

    • Partake in cleaning, lubrication and inspection in accordance with the maintenance schedule issued by the Maintenance Planner
    • Carry out routine maintenance activities in accordance with the maintenance schedule
    • Where problems have been uncovered during routine maintenance, these must be resolved using the appropriate PS techniques.

    Running Repairs:

    • Partake in carrying out running repairs on plant and equipment, or support the Process Artisans in carrying out repairs
    • When carrying out repairs, assess the problem and determine a course of action
    • Complete the administration tasks relating to any running repairs carried out as per CMMS requirements.

    Problem Solving:

    • Where problems have occurred during routine activities, apply the correct problem-solving approach to resolve
    • Where required, call in additional resources to assist in problem solving or escalate to the Maintenance Controller for direction
    • Assist fellow team members to resolve problems.

    Housekeeping and Safety:

    • Always Operate in a safe manner, and identify and highlight unsafe work practices so that these may be corrected
    • Carry out work according to the work instructions and adhere to appropriate AB InBev policies and procedures
    • Carry out housekeeping tasks, and apply 5S principles during the execution of duties.

    Qualifications

    Training Controller - Technical Services

    Location: Port Hacourt Plant, Rivers

    Job Description

    • Career opportunity exists for a highly skilled and result driven Training Controller, Packaging in Port Harcourt Plant reporting to the Packaging Manager.
    • The incumbent will provide a specialised and effective training and development service & solution to the Packaging team, focusing on skills acquisition and performance

    Key Roles and Responsibilities
    Initiate the training and development process:

    • Get relevant input for training buckets, this is taking from Team room discussions, ITF, Annual Training Plan and all other problem-solving discussion i.e. 5Why's, abnormality reports, walk about 
    • Collaborate with People Manager and Training Specialist regarding activities on site
    • Engage with L&D Specialist regarding suitable solutions where the training solution does not exist/not part of the Annual Training Calendar
    • Consolidate departmental training needs by reviewing L&D inputs e.g. PDP as input to the annual LNA / budgeting process

    Prepare for Training:

    • Coordinate the logistics of the required training and ensure relevant presenters & candidates are present and available
    • Request Purchase Order requests from the NOCC L&D Services team for external training as per the signed off LNA
    • Obtain approval from Zone L&D Specialist for costs not included in the LNA
    • Implement the learning process

    Effective use of SOP's:

    • Implement the 8 step SOP process
    • (Execution of the SOP’s are relevant and effective, use the as training aid), track and check whether people are people being trained against SOP, identify gaps in SOP and ensure Line Manager updates the SOP document)
    • Draw on the expertise of SME's to run learning programmes
    • Ensure all training completed is captured in Training Bucket and registers are completed
    • Ensure all training registers and events are recorded via NOCC L&D Services
    • Adapt training programme to meet the needs of the team / plant / audience i.e. run 2 day programme over a two week period with short intervals
    • Conducts a quality assurance of Visual Boards by engaging with Line Managers / HOD's

    Evaluate the Effectiveness of Training and Develop ROI Report:

    • Complete the Level 1 evaluations for formal classroom training, analyse the results and develop actions that will improve training effectiveness

    Monitor and Support SKAP:

    • Assist Line Manager to develop annual SKAP plan for teams
    • Monitor weekly / monthly adherence to plan
    • Support Line Manager to schedule formative and summative assessments
    • Identify SME Assessors and ensure an adequate pool of assessors in the plant
    • Administration of CAP Management system by ensuring information is accurate (Line Manager captures the assessment result, TC quality assures)

    Identify Training Solutions for future Pipeline:

    • Trainees: Conduct monthly check in with trainee to identify opportunities for trainee to attend training as per the planned training bucket

    Qualifications

    • B.Sc / HND in Engineering or related discipline
    • 3-5 years in a packaging environment
    • Knowledge of Performance management, L&D and SKAP practices including the evaluation of training
