    Tuberculosis Drug Resistance Survey (DRS) Coordinator

    Purpose of the job

    • The Tuberculosis DRS Coordinator will work with the Drug Resistant Survey (DRS) National Consultant and the Survey secretariate to coordinate all DRS activities planned activities, financing, implementation, monitoring, and reporting. S/He will ensure implementation of DRS workplan in line with approved budgets and adhere to timelines for scheduled activities.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Support DRS National Consultant and survey secretariat in coordinating implementation of survey activities as well as monitoring and evaluation.
    • Work closely with DRS KNCV Nigeria staff to establish management capacity development plan, help the zonal DRS consultants in planning, review and monitoring progress of DRS.
    • Support DRS KNCV Nigeria staff and DRS NTBLP staff to monitor all phases of the survey to ensure that they meet technical, administrative, financial standards.
    • Represent KNCV Nigeria in coordination meetings of DRS.
    • Provide technical assistance to NTBLCP DRS staff, oversight to DRS regional Consultants, state, and Cluster sites.
    • Actively participate in DRS coordination platforms to support collaboration between KNCV Nigeria and other stakeholders (NTBLCP, USAID, Global Fund, WHO and other IPs)
    • Support adherence to regulations in line with USAID finance policy for the implementation of DRS.
    • Perform other additional duties assigned.

    Qualifications and Skills

    • Minimum of MPH degree or Master degree in other relevant Public Health disciplines
    • At least 7 years’ experience working with: HIV & TB program at various levels.
    • Experience with USAID or UN projects or any development partner is an advantage.
    • Strong coordination, planning, and supervisory skills.
    • Competent with operational plan development, implementation, and evaluation of results.
    • Comfortable planning and delivering multiple activities under pressure to strict deadlines and high levels of precision.
    • Self-motivated with a strong ability to identify and develop relevant areas of work.
    • Able to communicate complex issues in a concise, accessible, and engaging manner.

    Laboratory Associates - Rivers / Oyo / Adamawa

    Purpose of the job

    • The laboratory Associate will work with the Drug Resistant Survey (DRS) Coordinator to facilitate prompt processing of DRS samples at the lab.
    • He/she oversees the pre-analytical, analytical, and post-analytical stages of the testing process and provides support and guidance to the survey staff at the clusters and XDR laboratories to ensure timely release of quality results.

    Key performance Deliverables:

    • Support sample transportation at all levels including shipment at the clusters, XDR, culture, and NRL laboratories.
    • Coordinate the testing process at the laboratory to ensure seamless integration of the survey process into the laboratory workflow.
    • Perform culture on DRS isolates, identification of strains and LPA, and document and transmit results according to survey methodology.
    • Support shipment of isolates to NRL laboratory.
    • Lead, support, or participate in all capacity-building initiatives and workshops on test procedures and data management.
    • Ensure accurate utilization of survey instrumentation and methodologies for sample processing, documentation, and reporting of data at the survey site.
    • Conduct routine internal quality control and ensure the reported DRS results are accurate and reliable.
    • Work with the Survey Coordinator and team to identify process improvement opportunities, propose system modifications, and implement laboratory quality improvement strategies.
    • Perform routine result validation to assess the quality and completeness of reported/transmitted results.
    • Ensure timely and accurate reporting/transmission of survey data, resolving and fixing data errors and related data issues in line with the DRS data system’s SOP.
    • Work with the Survey Coordinator to monitor survey implementation in line with the overall DRS plan and provide reports routinely.
    • Perform other additional duties as assigned.

    Requirements

    • At least a degree in Medical Laboratory science or Technology or other relevant fields.
    • At least 5 years of experience in working in a TB Reference laboratory. Experience working on culture, LPA and DST bench will be considered.
    • Experience working with database platforms such as kobo collect, DHIS etc is an added advantage.
    • Experience managing related databases such as surveys, rapid assessments, situational analysis, and other research types.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, approachable and good listener.
    • Exhibits high level of accuracy in work, and ability to analyze complex sets of relationships and situations.
    • Ability to work on own initiative, prioritize work, and handle pressure.

    Laboratory Associates - Lagos / Kaduna

    Purpose of the job

    • The laboratory Associate will work with the Drug Resistant Survey (DRS) Coordinator to facilitate prompt processing of DRS samples at the lab.     Administrative Officer

    Purpose of the job

    • The Admin Officer is responsible for the smooth operation of overall administrative activities.
    • The Admin Officer is responsible for the logistics of staff including travel arrangements, organizes meetings internally and externally, and ensures that the office supplies are in place.
    • Ensures updated inventory management system for the project. Ensure a proper functioning logistics support system including flight management.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Provides administrative and logistical support in organizing workshops, events, trainings, etc, including preparing the necessary documentation.
    • Arranges flights for all domestic air travels as per request(s)
    • Facilitates visa processing for visiting international consultants (writing invitation letters, obtaining travel approval at Immigration services, etc).
    • Arranges hotels and arranges transport for all visitors.
    • Responsible for arranging hotels and accommodation for workshop/meeting/training based on the selection of vendors made by committee/management.
    • Coordinates transport arrangements for the overall program activities as per the request in a timely manner and ensures the information is accurate in the logbook and up to date.
    • Provides historical reference by developing and utilizing filing and retrieval systems.
    • Ensure proper use and maintenance of physical assets and office, including vehicles, equipment, furniture, and office building. Arrange for repairs as necessary.
    • Serves as security liaison and manages information for the security of staff office, and physical assets belonging to the organization and ensuring KNCV fulfills security-related regulations.
    • Undertake supply and service provider pre-qualification, conduct market research, identify and recommend legitimate local suppliers or contractors through systematic evaluation and maintain a database of potential and active suppliers/contractors.

    Skills and Qualifications

    • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
    • Minimum of 4 years progressive experience in administration.
    • Knowledge of Microsoft Office packages.

    Data Analyst / Biostatiscian

    Purpose of the job

    The Data Analyst/Biostatistician will be responsible for analyzing data obtained from the Drug Resistant TB survey (DRS) and presenting findings. He/She will utilize relevant technical expertise to ensure data analytics is accurate and high-quality. Utilize appropriate statistical tools to analyze and interpret data to produce results useful in addressing the objects of the DRS.

    Key performance objectives:

    • Oversee the planning and execution of survey data analysis, result presentation and
    • Work with the survey coordinator and team and other public health experts to develop methodology and instrumentation for analyzing survey data and presenting findings.
    • Collect, clean, analyze and interpret survey statistics and data to produce results useful in addressing survey objectives.
    • Utilize standard statistical software in analyzing, interpreting, and presenting survey data.
    • Work with the survey coordinator to prepare and present survey data analysis reports to stakeholders bi-monthly.
    • Perform routine exploratory data analysis (EDA) and scrutinize data to recognize and identify patterns.
    • Work with the survey coordinator and data manager to identify and propose preventive or corrective solutions to addressing data challenges and gaps.
    • Ensure accuracy in data analysis and recognizing anomalies or errors in survey data.
    • Generate periodic data analysis and interpretation of results throughout the survey period.

    Skills and Qualifications 

    • Proficiency in statistical analysis and use of statistical tools such as Stata, Efi-Info, SPSS etc
    • At least a bachelor’s or master’s degree in social sciences
    • Knowledge of statistical tests and tools for EDA is crucial.
    • Experience working in the fields of TB/HIV, Community TB, and MDR TB in Nigeria.
    • Knowledge of database systems like Kobo Collect, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, or MS SQL.

    Data Clerk

    Purpose of the job

    • The Data Clerk will assist in the Drug-resistant Survey (DRS) data management activities. Ensure timely and accurate documentation, compilation, and reporting of survey data in line with the DRS data management requirements including paper and electronic data systems data management, data verification and triangulation to ensure quality, as well as providing support for record/patient retrieval/escort and knowledge management activities.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Ensure timely and accurate collection and reporting of survey data.
    • Support data entry, collection, compilation and reporting according to the DRS data management plan.
    • Facilitate accurate and complete documentation on survey R&R tools.
    • Conduct daily data verification and triangulation of relevant source documents to identify and rectify anomalies or errors in survey data.
    • Participate in record/document retrieval and survey participants’ (patient) support system.
    • Participate in weekly data review and quality improvement meetings.
    • Assist in adapting & implementing survey-specific tools & techniques to ensure data quality.
    • Support data processing capacity and knowledge management activities.

    Skills and Qualifications 

    • Minimum of bachelor’s degree in social sciences or public health or any other related field
    • Knowledgeable in the use of computers and Kobo collect tool.

    Data Manager

    Purpose of the job

    • The Data Manager will work with the Drug Resistant Survey (DRS) Coordinator to lead all data management activities.
    • Ensure implementation of the DRS data systems including data documentation, validation, reporting and monitor progress towards planned data management activities and critical milestones as well as providing support and guidance to field staff to ensure data is accurate and high-quality.

    Key performance Deliverables:

    • Coordinate and lead all data management activities with support from the survey secretariat, in line with the DRS data system framework.
    • Support full implementation and integration of the DRS data system and standards across all implementing clusters and sites.
    • Lead, support or participate in all capacity-building initiatives and workshops on data management.
    • Ensure accurate and comprehensive utilization of survey instrumentation and methodologies for documentation and reporting of data across all survey sites.
    • Conduct daily data validation exercise and ensure the reported DRS data are of the highest possible quality.
    • Work with the Survey Coordinator and team to identify process improvement opportunities, propose system modifications, and implement data quality improvement strategies.
    • Performing data analysis to assess the quality and completeness of reported/transmitted data, including implementing process to maintain data systems integrity.
    • Ensure timely and accurate reporting/transmission of survey data, resolving and fixing data errors and related data issues in line with the DRS data system’s SOP.
    • Work with the Survey Coordinator to monitor survey implementation and budget in line with the overall DRS plan.
    • Work with site-level staff and coordinators to identify process improvement opportunities, propose system modifications, and devise data governance strategies.
    • Generate learning from data management activities, document lessons learnt/case studies and share learning to promote and disseminate best practices.
    • Perform other additional duties as assigned.

    Requirements

    To be successful, you’ll need:

    • At least a master’s degree in social sciences, Public Health, Statistics or other relevant fields
    • At least 5 years of experience in public health data management. Experience working in the fields of TB/HIV and MDR TB in Nigeria will be considered.
    • Knowledge of database systems like MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, or MS SQL.
    • Experience managing related databases such as surveys, rapid assessments, situational analysis and other research types.

    DRS Zonal Consultants

    • The DRS zonal Consultant will work with the Drug Resistant Survey (DRS) National Consultant and the State TB programs to coordinate all DRS activities planned activities, financing, implementation, monitoring, and reporting.     Finance Officer

    Purpose of the Job:

    • The Finance Officer will be a key member of the USAID-funded Drug-Resistant Survey (DRS) project team at KNCV Nigeria.
    • This position requires a detail-oriented individual with strong financial acumen, experience in managing USAID-funded projects, and the ability to ensure compliance with USAID regulations.
    • The Finance Officer will oversee all financial aspects of the DRS project, including budget management, financial reporting, and compliance with USAID requirements.

    Responsibilities:

    Financial Management:

    • Join to develop and maintain project budgets in accordance with USAID regulations and guidelines.
    • Monitor project expenditures and ensure compliance with budgetary allocations and cost principles outlined by USAID.
    • Conduct regular financial analysis to identify variances and provide recommendations for cost optimization.
    • Coordinate with vendors, suppliers, and service providers to ensure procurement activities are conducted in compliance with USAID regulations.
    • Maintain accurate financial records and documentation to support audit readiness and compliance with USAID requirements.
    • Prompt processing of payment due to beneficiaries
    • Enter all financial documents into the accounting system.
    • Ensure that all project incurred expenses are timely paid, documented, and filed.
    • Develop and maintain an effective professional relationship with KNCV’s Nigeria local banking institutions.
    • Ensure adherence to all major financial rules and regulations which are described in the KNCV Finance Manual and other appropriate policies.
    • Prepare monthly bank reconciliation.

    Grant Compliance:

    • Ensure adherence to USAID regulations, including financial reporting requirements, allowable expenses, and audit standards.
    • Prepare timely and accurate financial reports for USAID, adhering to reporting deadlines and guidelines.
    • Collaborate with the Grants Manager to monitor grant agreements, track funding disbursements, and address any financial compliance issues.

    Budget Planning and Forecasting:

    • Assist in the development of project budgets, including forecasting expenses and revenue projections in alignment with USAID guidelines.
    • Provide financial input for proposal development, including budget preparation and cost analysis.
    • Monitor project spending against budget forecasts and provide regular updates to project management and USAID counterparts.

    Audit and Compliance:

    • Support internal and external audits by providing financial documentation, responding to audit inquiries, and implementing audit recommendations.
    • Ensure compliance with USAID regulations, organizational policies, and relevant legal and regulatory requirements.

    Capacity Building and Training:

    • Provide training and support to project staff on financial policies, procedures, and systems, with a focus on compliance with USAID regulations.
    • Promote a culture of financial accountability and transparency within the project team.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Finance and Accounting. Master’s degree and Accounting professional qualification is an added advantage.
    • Minimum of 3 years of experience in financial management, preferably within the nonprofit sector or international development organizations, with specific experience managing USAID-funded projects.
    • Strong understanding of USAID regulations, financial principles, budgeting, and grant management.
    • Proficiency in financial management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
    • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
    • Ability to work effectively in a multicultural team and communicate financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
    • Fluency in English Language is preferred.
