    Agronomist

    Key Responsibilities

    • Plan, coordinate, and oversee crop production activities, including planting, cultivation, and harvesting of crops used as feed for dairy cattle.
    • Select appropriate crop varieties and cultivars based on soil conditions, climate, and nutritional requirements of dairy cattle.
    • Implement best practices for crop rotation, soil fertility management, and pest and disease control to optimize crop yield and quality.
    • Conduct soil tests and analyses to assess soil fertility, nutrient levels, and pH balance.
    • Develop and implement soil management plans to improve soil health, fertility, and structure by recommending appropriate soil amendments, fertilizers, and organic matter applications to maintain optimal soil conditions for crop growth.
    • Promote sustainable farming practices, including conservation tillage, cover cropping, and water management techniques, to minimize environmental impact and maximize resource efficiency.
    • Incorporate integrated pest management (IPM) strategies and organic farming principles to reduce reliance on synthetic inputs and minimize pesticide use.
    • Stay abreast of latest research, developments, and innovations in agronomy, crop science, and sustainable agriculture.
    • Collect, analyze, and interpret agronomic data related to crop performance, soil health, and farming practices.
    • Provide insights and recommendations to management on opportunities for improvement and optimization in crop production and farming operations.

    Qualifications and Skills

    • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Agronomy, Crop Science, Soil Science, or related field.
    • Minimum of 4 years experience in agronomic management, crop production, and sustainable farming practices, preferably in a dairy farming or livestock feed production environment.
    • Strong knowledge of agronomy principles, crop physiology, soil science, and plant nutrition.
    • Familiarity with agricultural technologies, precision farming tools, and data analysis software.
    • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
    • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
    • Commitment to environmental sustainability, animal welfare, and ethical farming practices.

    Head of Agribusiness and Consulting

    Key Responsibilities

    • Break down the overall corporate strategy into specific and achievable tasks and assign such tasks to various roles in the division.
    • Design business strategies and plans that meet the company goals.
    • Drive financial performance management for all strategic business units.
    • Create a solid network of strategic partnerships that will support driving business strategy.
    • Develop, review, and implement divisions operations reengineering to ensure that the operations are lean, effective, efficient and bring value to the organisation.
    • Oversee the day-to-day implementation of strategies and operations of the division. This can be done through supervision, coaching and feedback mechanisms.
    • Ensure that job descriptions, performance contracts, processes and workflow are clearly communicated, documented and all team members should well understand the objectives.
    • Successful management of divisions projects which include its objective, budget, time limits and its implementation.
    • Constantly evaluate the suitability of decisions and operations of the division to attain the set goal.
    • Where necessary, liaise with other functional heads/business leads on the operations of divisions. This is to ensure smooth running of activities in the division.
    • Define marketing strategies to support the division strategies and objectives.
    • Spot agribusiness opportunities in the market and drive business growth.
    • Use data to optimise customers' experience and division’s strategy.
    • Build a highly efficient team of sales and marketing professionals.
    • Any other task assigned by the line manager or the management of IDL.

    Educational Qualitification & Skills

    • Candidates should possess a Bachelor's Degree / Master's Degree / Doctor of Philosophy Degree in Business Administration, Operations Management or Marketing.
    • At least 7 years experience in Operations Management or Business Development position.
    • Experience and or Certification in agronomy and animal husbandry is an added advantage.
    • Outstanding leadership abilities.
    • Data analytics and reporting skills.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Working knowledge of the latest business policies and regulations.
    • Demonstrable analytical thinking and decision-making.
    • Must be detail-oriented.

    Finance Control Executive

    ey Responsibilities

    • Daily Sales Reconciliation: Ensure accurate reconciliation of cash and credit sales, real-time posting, and review Business Development Executive daily account balances.
    • Bank & Cash Reconciliation: Manage cheque lodgments, ensure payment accuracy, and conduct monthly depot float account reconciliation.
    • Receivables & Credit Control: Maintain data accuracy in receivables and partner ledgers, monitor customer credit limits, and ensure GL integrity.
    • Credit Customer Review: Conduct monthly reviews and provide recommendations.
    • Reporting: Generate weekly BDE open invoice reports, track Shoprite and SPAR invoices, and prepare daily sales reconciliation reports.
    • Documentation: Check stock requisition booklets and maintain records of key financial documents.

    Qualifications & Experience

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
    • Minimum of 2 years in finance control or credit management
    • Industry-specific financial knowledge is an advantage
    • ICAN certification is an added advantage.

    IT Manager

    Responsibilities

    • Network Management: Oversee installation, maintenance, and management of the computer network to ensure consistent availability and efficiency.
    • Database Management: Develop and manage database systems to ensure data integrity and security.
    • IT Infrastructure: Ensure the IT infrastructure supports the organisation's operations, including disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
    • Cyber Security: Implement and monitor security measures to protect the organisation's IT systems from threats.
    • ERP Maintenance: Manage the operation, updates, and troubleshooting of ERP systems to ensure seamless integration, functionality, and alignment with business processes.

    Requirements

    • Education: First Degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, or a related field.
    • Certifications: ICT certifications such as MSCE, CCNA; additional certifications like CWNP, CISA, MCITP, MCTS, CCNP, CCIE, CISSP, PMP are advantageous.
    • Experience: Minimum 7 years of post-qualification experience in ICT management, with expertise in computer hardware, software, ERP maintenance and project management.
    • Strong communication, leadership, and team-building skills; experience in LAN/cloud solutions, security, bandwidth management, and vendor management.
