    Financial Modelling Consultant

    Job Summary

    • To support the Green Infrastructure Team (Clean Energy, Green Housing, and Climate-Smart Agriculture) by developing robust and standardized financial models, lead training initiatives at the STAR Academy, and conduct specialized training sessions for analysts to strengthen their financial modeling capabilities

    Job Details

    • Design and build comprehensive financial models for project finance and infrastructure finance related transactions across Clean Energy, Green Housing and Climate-Smart Agro sectors. 
    • Standardisation of financial models in Clean Energy, Green Housing and ClimateSmart Agro sectors 
    • Prepare financial forecasts, including cash flow projections, income statements and balance sheets 
    • Provide expert guidance on structuring financial models for transactions across Clean Energy, Green Housing and Climate-Smart Agro sectors, while ensuring models are tailored to the unique requirements of each transaction and aligned with InfraCredit's strategic objectives. 
    • Lead the development and enhancement of financial modelling tools and templates that can be used across the organization to improve efficiency and accuracy in financial analysis. 
    • Support the Clean Energy, Green Housing and Climate-Smart Agro transactions team in standardising data gathering for building financial models  
    • Design and deliver customized financial modelling courses for the STAR Academy ensuring that the curriculum is relevant, up-to-date, and meets the needs of the trainees. 
    • Conduct regular and ad-hoc training sessions for analysts on various aspects of financial modelling to improve the skill set. 
    • Create and maintain a comprehensive training curriculum that evolves with industry developments and InfraCredit’s strategic needs, ensuring analysts are equipped with the latest knowledge and skills. 
    • Act as a mentor to STAR Academy participants, providing ongoing support and feedback to empower participants excel in financial modelling. 
    • Monitor and evaluate the progress of analysts, offering personalized coaching and additional support as necessary to ensure high performance in financial modelling tasks. 
    • Any other responsibilities as may be assigned from time to time during the engagement period 

    Requirements

    Candidates for the role should possess the following qualifications: 

    • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business administration, economics, finance, engineering, or a related field. Master's degree or relevant professional qualification is an added advantage. 
    • Professional certifications such as, CFA, ACA, ACCA, FMVA are highly desirable. Additional certifications in financial modelling like AFM, or project finance will be an added advantage. 
    • Minimum of five years of relevant experience in financial modelling, valuation, investment banking, debt capital market, private equity, project finance, or a similar role within the financial services industry. 
    • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail and proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other modelling related tools. 
    • Demonstrated experience in structuring, developing, and validating complex financial models for various types of transactions. 
    • Experience in training and mentoring teams, with a proven ability to design and deliver effective training programs. 
    • Strong understanding of valuation, investment analysis, and project finance principles. 
    • High attention to detail, with strong organizational and time management skills. 
    • Up-to-date understanding of market trends, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices in financial modelling.

    Assistant Vice President - Origination & Structuring

    Job Summary

    As an active member of the team, undertake detailed evaluation, structuring and execution of existing and potential credit enhancement opportunities in the infrastructure space.

    Job Details

    • The ideal candidate for the role is a highly analytical finance/investment professional with 7 – 10 years of credit and debt capital markets/financial advisory experience, with deal execution expertise. 

    Job details is as stated below:

    • Negotiation and structuring of financial/credit transaction documentation, with clear understanding of the structural elements of the long-term, local currency guarantee transactions, specifically within the infrastructure space.
    • Undertaking and managing the preparation of term sheets, necessary due diligence, financial modelling, site visits, risk analysis and mitigation in the structuring of guarantees.
    • Conducting thorough credit assessment/analysis and underwriting of debt transactions in accordance with underwriting criteria.
    • Preparing and presenting credit papers to the management and board credit committees.
    • Work with external legal counsel in drafting of guarantee agreements & transaction agreements
    • Review of financial information provided by prospective borrowers, demonstrating thorough understanding of the company's accounting procedures as well as their method for documenting changes in revenues, expenses, and balance sheet accounts; ability to conduct a quality of earnings review including quality of earnings analysis, working capital analysis, etc.
    • Support new business pitches ensuring delivery with sound situations-based offerings.
    • Oversee preliminary assessments, confirmatory due diligence, documentation and negotiations on prospective infrastructure related pipeline transactions.
    • Liaising with external advisors, financial consultants, rating agencies, risk-sharing partners, etc. in relation to execution of respective deliverables which form part of the credit appraisal process.
    • Engage with institutional investors, project stakeholders, government agencies (as applicable), etc. in connection with structuring and completing guarantee transactions.
    • Reviewing market needs and recommending changes/improvements to products in line with market demands, as well as identifying new guarantee opportunities

    Requirements

    Qualifications and Experience

    • B.Sc. Degree in finance or accounting, or a relevant discipline 
    • Post-graduate degree qualification in Economics/Business/Accounting or MBA 
    • Minimum 7 -10 years of credit and debt capital markets/financial advisory experience with at least 5 years in the Nigerian banking/financial markets.
    • Familiar with guidelines and regulations governing the debt securities and credit transactions.
    • Sound understanding of debt capital markets, with experience in successfully executing and obtaining credit ratings for corporate debt issuance transactions in Nigerian debt capital markets.
    • Strong deal structuring know-how, product knowledge, with a focus on guarantee products, and deal execution expertise. 

    • Excellent analytical and deal making skills, good understanding capital markets and its financial instruments, to facilitate delivering customised solutions with an appropriate management of risk.
    • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
    • Good communication skills, with an ability to negotiate effectively with bankers, clients, internal peers, inside/outside counsel, rating agencies, etc.
    • Mastery of MS Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Power Point, etc. 
    • Relevant professional qualifications are an advantage.

    Clean Energy Technical Analyst

    • The Technical Analyst will be responsible for supporting the clean energy transactions from due diligence through financial close.
    • He/She will report to Clean Energy Technical Lead and Head of Origination & Structuring.

    Job Details

    • The Technical Analyst will be responsible for supporting the clean energy transactions from due diligence through financial close by:
    • Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, including clients and developers, to address all technical matters needed to achieve financial close.
    • Review and ensure technical accuracy of project technical documents, maintaining thorough documentation of processes and progress.
    • Ensuring that projects are technically sound, cost-effective, and meet industry standards.
    • Monitoring and tracking the technical milestones of ongoing clean energy projects and ensuring timely feedback to stakeholders.
    • Assisting in the review and validation of engineering designs, equipment lists, bills of quantities (BOQs), and procurement contracts.
    • Support the development and refinement of technical due diligence reports, ensuring alignment with industry standards and project specifications.
    • Identifying risks and proposing mitigation strategies during project assessment and review.
    • Supporting project developers by evaluating technical aspects of the proposed clean energy projects to ensure bankability and viability.
    • Preparing technical reports and documents for the internal review committees, including Credit Risk Committee and New Business Committee.
    • Conducting site visits to monitor project construction and operational progress, reviewing project assets, equipment, and infrastructure for performance assessment.
    • Assisting in sourcing external technical advisors, reviewing their reports, and validating their findings.
    • Engaging in strategic workstreams to de-risk projects and improve project viability, including partnerships and aggregated procurement efforts.
    • Other support services as may be required by the team lead.

    Requirements

    • Candidates for the Technical Analyst role should meet the following requirements:
    • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related field.
    • Minimum of 3 years’ work experience in the clean energy sector, with a focus on project development or technical advisory roles.
    • Strong understanding of financial markets and infrastructure project financing, especially related to clean energy is an added advantage.
    • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to details.
    • Strong communication and report-writing skills.
    • Ability to manage multiple projects efficiently and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
    • Experience with conducting due diligence on technical aspects of renewable energy projects.

    Key Performance Indices

    • Timeliness and quality of technical reports and project assessments.
    • Number of technical due diligence reports reviewed and processed.
    • Number of active clean energy projects successfully supported through to financial close.
    • Responsiveness to client and stakeholder queries on technical matters.
