    Corporate Finance Associate

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Conceptualize and drive deal structuring and implementation for the Company’s issuing house business by leveraging industry knowledge and networks.
    • Origination of capital markets, project, and structured finance deals
    • Conduct due diligence, site visits, financial, credit and risk analysis on prospective transactions.
    • Review client business plans, financial models and prepare analyses and documentation to assess potential transactions against our Eligibility Criteria, risk appetite, sector limits etc.
    • Contribute to preparation of mandate letters, committee papers, term sheets and credit papers, with clear understanding of structural elements of each mandate, including key performance factors and risk mitigants.
    • Develop proprietary financial models and scenarios for internal transaction analysis and post-transaction monitoring of client performance.
    • Actively monitor data rooms, manage information flow, track correspondence with clients on ongoing engagements and maintain proper records for each project.
    • Perform desktop and market research on potential clients, competitors, industry trends, opportunities, and threats.
    • Support new business pitches ensuring delivery with sound situations-based offerings, for both internal committee approvals and roll-out to the market.
    • Expertly use MS Office Suite tools, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint, delivering professional business/report writing and presentations for internal and external use.
    • Build financial models and undertake valuations relevant to specific transactions.
    • Engage in detailed technical and financial negotiations with clients and other parties to an Issue.

    EDUCATIONAL & PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATION

    • 5- 7 years’ experience
    • Bachelor’s degree in business-related field
    • Master’s degree will be an added advantage.
    • Any relevant professional qualification (CFA, ACCA ICAN or MBA is an added advantage)

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Understand rating advisory and listing requirements that may be necessary to facilitate the issuance of bonds in the Nigerian capital markets.
    • Coordinate the due diligence process for new clients and the securities issuance processes.
    • Conduct general research into companies and sectors to understand the factors that influence companies’ prospects. Obtain, read, and analyze research from research houses for possible research and investment ideas.
    • Prepare research reports/presentations summarizing findings from independent research.
    • Develop financial models and projections to support investment decision-making.
    • Establish outperform, neutral, and underperform recommendations for covered stocks and communicate investment ideas and market updates to all relevant teams. Make, buy, sell, or hold suggestions and recommendations.
