    Event Management Operations Officer

    SUMMARY

    An event management company located in Abuja is looking to recruit an Operations Officer. This person will oversee and organize events that will make an impact to a target audience. You’ll ensure events are successful and cost-effective, paying attention to budget and time constraints.

    Responsibilities

    • Plan event from start to finish according to requirements, target audience and objectives
    • Come up with suggestions to enhance the event’s success
    • Prepare budgets and ensure adherence
    • Source and negotiate with vendors and suppliers
    • Be in charge of hiring personnel (DJs, waiters etc.)
    • Coordinate all operations
    • Lead promotional activities for the event
    • Supervise all staff (event coordinators, caterers etc.)
    • Approve all aspects before the day of the event
    • Ensure event is completed smoothly and step up to resolve any problems that might occur
    • Analyze the event’s success and prepare reports

    Requirements

    • Proven experience as event manager
    • Skilled in project management
    • Knowledge of KPIs and marketing techniques for event management
    • Computer savvy; proficient in MS Office
    • BSc/BA in PR, marketing, hospitality management or related field is preferred

    JOB SUMMARY

    A client of ours is seeking to employ a personal assistant. This client is a female, a high net worth individual and with a very busy schedule. The ideal candidate will also be an excellent communicator and will have experience in managing different schedules.

    Responsibilities

    • Act as the point of contact between the Managing Director [Female] and internal/external clients
    • Screen and direct phone calls and distribute correspondence
    • Handle requests and queries appropriately
    • Manage diary and schedule meetings and appointments
    • Make travel arrangements
    • Take dictation and minutes
    • Source office supplies
    • Produce reports, presentations and briefs
    • Devise and maintain office filing system
    • Reporting to senior management and performing secretarial and administrative duties.

    Attorney

    SUMMARY

    A law firm located in Abuja is looking to recruit an Attorney to join its team in Abuja. This law firm is focused on commercial law and it provides services to both the public and private sector.

    Responsibilities

    • Meet and interview clients to establish the firm's suitability to provide the necessary advice and services, based on the firm's specialism and likely cost
    • Take a client's instructions
    • Advise a client on the law and legal issues relating to their case
    • Draft documents, letters and contracts tailored to the client's individual needs
    • Negotiate with clients and other professionals to secure agreed objectives
    • Research and analyze documents and case law to ensure the accuracy of advice and procedure
    • Supervise the implementation of agreements
    • Coordinate the work of all parties involved
    • Correspond with clients and opposing solicitors
    • Attend meetings and negotiations with opposing parties

    • Instruct barristers or specialist advocates to appear in court for the client in complex disputes

    • Arrange and attend further client meetings where necessary to progress with the case and finalize documentation
    • Check all documentation prior to signing and implementing
    • Calculate claims for damages, compensation, maintenance, etc
    • Carry out administrative duties, e.g. Completing time sheets so that charges for work can be calculated and billing clients for work done on their behalf
    • Take referrals from other firms of solicitors when a conflict of interest arises or if they have no specialist practitioner available
    • Keep up to date with changes and developments in the law by reading journals and law reports.

    Requirements

    The Ideal Candidate must have:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Law [Minimum]
    • Minimum of 3 years Post Bar experience in a commercial law practice with focus on either property, oil & gas or power
