    Community Manager

    Objective

    • We are building a smart and easy-to-use suite of business tools for micro-small African merchants. We strongly believe that everyone should be able to participate and thrive in today’s digital economy, and no one should be left out because the technology is too great or the cost is too high.

    Job Description

    • The Dukka Community Manager’s duties and responsibilities include sourcing for clients for our shared space services, managing physical and online users request, preparing monthly performance reviews and reports, responding to enquiries and driving business growth to create a strong brand identity. 
    • You will be the first point of contact for our physical and online community users thus developing an intimate relationship with the online community is essential. 
    • Our ideal Community Manager must have exceptional oral and written communication skills and is able to develop engaging content. 
    • You should be a ‘people person’ with great customer service skills and the ability to moderate online and offline conversations with our community. If this is you, then we can’t wait to have you!
    • This role reports directly to the Admin Manager/Chief of Staff .

    Responsibilities

    • Drive sales and source for Clients for our shared space services
    • Plan and execute community initiatives and programs for our shared space services
    • Set and implement social media and communication campaigns to align with marketing strategies
    • Create engaging content for all platforms, including blog pieces, articles, social media posts, newsletters, and promotional videos
    • Monitor and report on feedback and online reviews
    • Provide community feedback to the management and stakeholders.
    • Active awareness of competitors
    • Build and maintain relationships with customers, potential customers, industry influencers & professionals.
    • Monitor social media campaigns and analyze web traffic from the online community using key performance indicators (KPIs).
    • Stay up-to-date with co-work trends
    • Participate in social events, corporate events and workshops.

    Educational Qualifications

    • A Degree in Communication, English, Journalism, Marketing, or related field
    • 3+ years experience in managing sales in a co-working environment/ selling real estate.
    • Knowledge of search engine optimization (SEO) and web metrics.

    Skills and Qualifications:

    • Experience launching community initiatives (e.g. building an online forum, launching an ambassador program, creating an event series and writing an email newsletter)
    • Attention to detail and ability to multitask
    • Interpersonal & negotiation skills

    Mobile Developer

    Job Description

    • We want engineers that think about the big picture, take ownership of the delivery of the product, work well with others in a collaborative environment and take pride in their work.
    • You will be responsible for building out primarily the mobile software applications of the Dukka solution, but expect to do some hardware integrations and web development also, as we like expert generalists.
    • You should also expect to perform some infrastructure work in AWS.
    • You will be responsible for the uptime and responsiveness of any feature/product which you build. Hello
    • The core product right now is being built in Flutter, Python, and AWS.
    • We may be open to move to any better languages near term if we see the need for it for the core product and container technologies for runtime environments, so we’d like you to be flexible with languages, and teachable.
    • We use Git for source code management, slack for communications, confluence for documentation, JIRA for project and task management, and Range for daily check-ins.
    • This role reports directly to the CTO.

    Responsibilities

    • Identify opportunities to improve existing code or architecture
    • Explore possible architectures for implementing new features.
    • We take quality seriously and you should expect to be involved in well-written code bases following common coding conventions and good software engineering practices
    • Design and Build sophisticated and highly scalable apps using Flutter.
    • Translate and Build the designs and Wireframes into high-quality responsive UI code.
    • Write efficient queries for core Data.
    • Build and consume custom packages in Flutter using the functionalities and APIs already available in native Android and IOS.
    • Resolve any problems existing in the system and suggest and add new features in the complete system.
    • Suggest space and time efficient Data Structures.
    • Follow the best practices while developing the app and also keeping everything structured and well documented.
    • Use CI/CD for smooth deployment.
    • Document the project and code efficiently.
    • Manage the code and project on Git in order to keep in sync with other team members and managers.
    • Communicate with the product owner/ team lead regarding status of projects and suggest appropriate deadlines for new functionalities.
    • Ensure security guidelines are always followed while developing the app.
    • Validate the cloud system to ensure any new changes do not compromise security of the backend server.
    • Suggest new features and/or enhancements.
    • Consulting with our customer facing representatives about software system design and maintenance.
    • Interact with the Clinical Specialists and Product Manager to help understand end-user feedback.
    • Maintaining software through product lifecycle including design, development, verification and bug fixes.
    • Connect regularly with the Quality Assurance Specialist to deliver a stable app.
    • Resolve all the bugs reported by the Quality Assurance Specialist in a timely manner.
    • Perform time profiling and memory leaks assessment.
    • Execute app verification protocol.
    • Write tests for the App.
    • Follow company policies and quality procedures to ensure quality product deliverables.
    • Collaborate with other engineers and the Product team to define clear deliverables and establish project milestones
    • Take ownership of features from end to end by going through design, implementation, testing and maintenance phases
    • Mentoring of junior developers under you.

    Qualifications
    Education:

    • Whilst it would be great for you to have a Bachelor's Degree / Master's Degree in Software Engineering from an accredited university, we place a higher value on significant work experience in the workforce to compensate where there is no qualification.

    Skills:

    • Team leadership experience
    • Proficiency in Object-Oriented Design
    • Proven track record of delivering high-impact projects
    • Native Android and iOS: be able to work on custom packages
    • Familiarity with software project planning and collaboration tools such as Jira and Git is required to manage and collaborate on different projects with the rest of the team
    • Flutter: To build cross-platform mobile apps for Android, IOS and Web.
    • This should include; making responsive UIs, to efficiently querying data, and also manage states in an optimized manner
    • Firebase: Should have experience with Cloud Firestore, Push Notifications, Cloud Functions and Analytics
    • Adobe XD: should know how to use Adobe XD to make use of design files to build the app
    • Experience with modern MVC Frameworks such as Django, Flask, etc will earn you more points
    • Experience with AWS will earn you more points
    • Experience with building and working with RESTful APIs
    • Experience with building Flutter packages and libraries
    • Experience with Database technologies such as Postgres, SQLite

    Payment Integration Engineer

    Job Description / Responsibilities

    • Dukka terminals help businesses extend the way they currently get paid by users. The terminal team’s mission is to make it as easy for businesses to accept in-person digital payments as it is to pay with cash. 
    • With Dukka terminals, businesses can unlock in-person payments use cases that are right for their business model - whether it’s creating a superb retail experience, extending their website to a pop up store, or enabling a mobile point-of-sale at the next event. 
    • Payment Integration Engineers of the Global R&D team will build out local payment method support for Dukka Terminal in local and international regions to continue the Terminal’s Global expansion. Some examples of the local payment methods include Bank transfers and USSD in Nigeria and mPesa in Kenya.
    • You will report to the Product Lead, Director of Engineering, CTO, and CEO.

    You will:

    • Design, build, and maintain local payment method support and Terminal experience to unlock Terminal’s new and existing global markets
    • Build backend and API features for core in-person payments and certify Terminal readers for use across the globe with local payment methods
    • Work with engineers, product managers, designers, and stakeholders across the company to bring new features and products to Dukka Terminal users
    • Collaborate with backend and frontend developers who work on Dukka’s client apps and SDKs to set best practices for API development across the company
    • Work with user research and product design to understand users and address their needs
    • Provide technical integration support
    • Analyze customer requirements to determine the optimum solution
    • Provide timely responses and regular updates on customer inquiries as made known via all support portals
    • Proactively keep management informed of critical customer issues/concerns
    • Build Dukka Terminal support for exchanges and transfers, to expand our Nigerian market
    • Implement features that unlock the ability for merchants to operate globally, such as local debit card improvements
    • Build out and maintain QR code based payment methods.

    Requirements
    We are looking for someone who has:

    • A solid engineering background: 3+ years of experience in payments, backend, and API development. Ideally, you are super comfortable with Flutter, Android, Java, Python, or similar with experience in Full-Stack Development
    • Bachelor's and/or Master’s degree within the engineering field.
    • Experience and excitement in payments industry
    • Experience or interest in developing backends, APIs, libraries, and SDKs
    • The ability to listen well and internalize the best ideas from all over the organization while also setting a vision that others are excited to get behind
    • A preference for simple solutions and designs over complex ones, and good intuition for what is lasting and scalable
    • The ability to thrive in a collaborative environment involving different stakeholders and subject matter experts
    • The ability to put yourself in the shoes of your users and be a steward of crafting great developer and consumer experiences
    • Action-mindset; familiar with agile software development practices
    • Up-to-date industry knowledge of Fintech, Marketplaces, and Payments
