    Mechanical Engineer - Packing Plant

    Location: Ibese Plant, Ibese Plant

    Company: Dangote Industries Limited

    Plan and coordinate all packing plant production and maintenance activities to prevent disruptions to packing plant operations and ensure targets for the plant are met.

    Responsibilities

    • Participate in the development and articulation of the plant’s maintenance plan.
    • To ensure that mechanical maintenance is carried out properly & safely as per the requirement of the plant/ terminal.
    • To carry out maintenance of packing plant's mechanical equipment.
    • To ensure proper housekeeping of job areas and plant in general.
    • Oversee liaison with the relevant HSE personnel for the provision of personal protection equipment and safety training
    • Enforce the use of personal protection equipment during respective shift to prevent accidents.
    • Ensure effective on-the-job training of packing plant operators.
    • Perform any other duties assigned by the Head, Packing Plant from time to time

    Requirements

    • BSc./HND in Mechanical Engineering or its equivalent 2 to 9 yrs experience
    • Proven experience as a Mechanical Engineer or in a similar role
    • In-depth knowledge of the cement packing machines/ functions and procedures
    • Strong knowledge of methods, techniques and procedures involved in maintenance repairs and replacement.
    • Strong knowledge of safety practices and techniques in mechanics; and considerable knowledge of parts and supplies required.
    • Ability to troubleshoot, diagnose and repair equipment’s with accuracy and speed
    • Good leadership and supervisory skills
    • Good problem solving and analysis skills
    • Ability to pay attention to details
    • Good relationship management and communication skills

    Inbound Logistics Officer

    Location: Head Office - Lagos, Head Office - Lagos

    Job Summary

    We are looking for a competent Inbound Logistics Officer, Port Operations to facilitate the supply chain operations of DCP. The ideal candidate will ensure that deliveries of all shipments are carried out efficiently and effectively without damages to their various locations.

    Key Duties And Responsibilities

    • Coordinate activities that facilitate timely clearance/deliveries of shipments from various port
    • Ensure that deliveries of all shipments are carried out efficiently and effectively without damages to their various locations
    • Liaise with relevant parties in the maritime industry and initiate track follow up actions
    • Report promptly to Surveyors of all short- deliveries, damages, thefts, vandalization and other discrepancies in order to facilitate settlement of claims
    • Ability of post and maintain conditions in SAP (Systems Application And Products for Data Processing)
    • Timely processing and follow up of refunds from Shipping and Port Terminal Companies
    • Reconciliation of Empty Container Templates
    • Supervise all cargo deliveries, keeping accurate records of daily delivery details - Return delivery waybills, inclusive
    • Resolve issues at shipping companies, where our clearing agents are deficient. Issues that bother on waiver of demurrage, non-return of empty containers; manifest amendments
    • Verify and evaluate all debit notes, as submitted by our Clearing Agents

    Requirements

    Education and Work Experience

    • Bachelor's degree or its equivalent in Transport Management, Purchasing & Supplies or Business Administration
    • Minimum of two (3) years relevant work experience.

    Skills And Competencies

    • Basic Knowledge of SAP & Excel
    • Ability to effectively apply scheduling techniques to own work
    • Good problem solving and conflict resolution skills
    • Good communication skills
    • Performance driven and resulted oriented individual
