    IP Systems Administrator

    Department: Technical
    Job Type: Permanent

    Responsibilities

    • The IP System Administrator primarily provides support to the IPNGN Virtual infrastructure.

    Specifically, the IP System Administrator’s responsibilities shall include:

    • Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs.
    • Apply OS / Hypervisor / Firmware / applications patches and upgrades as demanded, and upgrade administrative tools and utilities. Configure / add new services.
    • Perform ongoing performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization as required. Configure CPU, memory, and disk partitioning and RAID configuration as required
    • Perform monthly performance reporting to support capacity planning.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve all operating system and application related issues.
    • Research and recommend innovative, and where possible, automated approaches for system administration tasks.
    • Create, change, and delete user accounts per request.
    • Perform Server Hardening in accordance with the company information technology rules.
    • System Hardware / Software compliance check and update.

    Qualifications, Skills & Competencies

    • B.Sc in Computer Engineering or Computer Science
    • Minimum of 4 years relevant experience
    • Linux and windows servers troubleshooting skills required
    • Working knowledge of the Linux Kernel
    • Database Administration experience
    • Experience supporting Vmware vSphere environment is desirable
    • Networking experience will be an added advantage
    • Shell Scripting experience will be an added advantage
    • CCNA , REDHAT, WINDOWS,VMWARE certifications

    Inventory Management Officer

    Job Type: Permanent
    Department: Finance

    Responsibilities
    The job responsibilities of the Procurement and Inventory Officer whom we will train to bring up to speed will include the following:

    • Coordinate the accurate completion of purchase requisitions from user units within the Technical department and other Non-Technical functions;
    • Receive and review all requisitions for the purchase of technical and non-technical items, ensuring they are properly approved and within budget;
    • Source, process and coordinate the analysis of valid quotations/ tenders for approved items;
    • Engage in negotiations with suppliers/ vendors (with the approval of the Procurement Manager or Head, Procurement and coordinate the issuance of purchase orders, after due approvals have been obtained;
    • Ensure all purchase orders are authorized by management, dispatched to vendors for acknowledgement and file with supporting documents;
    • Review vendor invoices and ensure they are in line with PO and contract terms.
    • Manage contracts and agreements effectively according to agreed terms and processing renewals when due.
    • Co-ordinate and manage cost of sales requirements from the requesting units/departments;
    • Support the implementation of inventory management policies and procedures, upon due approval by the Head, Procurement and relevant authorities within the organization;
    • Receive, record, review and oversee proper documentation of all technical stock (technical department items);
    • Maintain an updated inventory records management system ;
    • Be abreast of the latest inventory management and material handling tools, technology and procedures.
    • Ensure appropriate authorization for the release of stocks as well as proper documentation for relocation of items;
    • Proactively track the movement of inventory items from one location to another;
    • Update system records of items against physical balances.
    • Receive all inventory items ordered, match with PO and update the inventory records regularly;
    • Conduct periodic demand planning to determine needs and requirements for goods and services
    • Other duties that may be assigned.

    Qualifications, Skills & Competencies

    • A Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Engineering or Science related discipline.
    • Minimum of 1-2 years’ post-NYSC experience in Procurement or Supply Chain Management and / or Finance environment.

    GPON Engineer

    Job Type: Permanent
    Department: Technical

    Responsibilities

    • Track and repair signal outages on Gpon including signal leakages on the network in coordination with Engineering, Maintenance and NOC teams
    • Ensure sites are attended to within SLA.
    • Update dispatch with accurate information pertaining sites and customer feedback
    • Ensure quality is attained with reference to industry standards.
    • Handle CPES and ensure they are well packaged with all accessories intact in cases of recovery
    • Maintain integrity including management of customer premise, company Image and phone etiquette.
    • Share feedback on issues pertaining to the network and customer experience.
    • Share relevant information with relevant teams including addresses, gaps and network issues
    • Respond to customer inquiries about products, work operations, etc. during field contacts.
    • Produce and maintain all records related to the assigned tasks
    • Perform preventive maintenance tasks on customer premises, including among others Coaxial and Optical Fiber cables, disconnection of idle drops, report sagging cables and damaged network devices including Lockboxes/passive and active devices.
    • Ensure work tools are well maintained including laptops, Compression tools, motor bikes etc

    Qualifications, Skills & Competencies

    • First degree in a relevant field of study.
    • Minimum of 5 years' experience in the design and construction of Fiber Optic Networks, including 2 years of experience at various levels of project management .
    • A comparable amount of training, education and experience may be substituted in lieu of some of the minimum qualification
    • Good knowledge of GPON protocol (ITU-T G.98x standards) and/or a strong experience of GPON equipment configuration (OLT & ONT) is mandatory
    • Considerable knowledge of design and construction practice on GPON fiber optic networks
    • Good knowledge of equipment and technologies like:
    • Ethernet access networks (VLAN bridging, cross-connect)
    • Ethernet QoS (policing, shaping, IEEE 802.1p, 802.1q, 802.1ad)
    • Measurement equipment's (protocol emulators, traffic generators, protocol analyzers)
    • Ability to operate an OTDR to troubleshoot and test fiber optic cable.
    • Ability to troubleshoot large GPON network with minimal supervision.
    • Thorough and complete knowledge of rules, regulations, policies and procedures applicable to electric and communication industry, and the ability to apply them in day-to-day engineering situations
    • Considerable knowledge of local and state permitting agencies codes and regulations
    • Considerable knowledge of other office software, such as Microsoft Word, Excel and Access.
    • Ability to write technical specifications
    • Extensive knowledge of creation of fiber optic paths and calculation of loss budgets.
    • Considerable ability to establish effective working relationships with internal and external customers.
    • Ability to plan the work of technical personnel engaged in surveying.
