Role Description

• The Head of Secondary School is a full-time, on-site leadership role based in Ikorodu, responsible for overseeing the academic and operational management of the secondary section.
• This role includes leading and supporting teachers, ensuring effective implementation of curriculum, and maintaining high standards of teaching, learning, and student wellbeing.
• Day-to-day responsibilities include supervising lesson delivery, monitoring student performance, coordinating assessments, and promoting a positive, inclusive school culture.
• The Head of Secondary School will collaborate with senior leadership on strategic planning, policy development, staff professional development, and parent engagement.
• The role also involves ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and driving initiatives that align with the school’s vision for innovative, learner-centered education.

Qualifications

• Strong background in Education and Educational Leadership, with proven experience managing secondary school operations and teams.
• Demonstrated expertise in Curriculum Development and Research to design, implement, and review engaging, evidence-based programs.
• Excellent Communication skills for collaborating with staff, learners, families, and external stakeholders.
• Relevant academic qualifications in Education or a related field; advanced degrees or professional certifications in school leadership are an advantage.
• Experience in teacher supervision, performance management, and professional development planning.
• Ability to foster an inclusive, safe, and supportive learning environment that promotes high expectations and student success.
• Strong organizational, decision-making, and problem-solving skills, with the capacity to manage multiple priorities effectively.
• Familiarity with technology-enhanced teaching and learning, and willingness to champion innovative educational practices.
• Bachelor’s degree in Education (B.Ed.) or a core academic discipline with a PGDE. A relevant Master’s degree is an added advantage.
• Minimum of 5–8 years of teaching and administrative experience in a secondary school setup.
