    Government Relations Advisor

    Job description

    SPIE Services Nigeria Limited is currently looking for a Government Relations Advisor to join its work force in Nigeria. His responsibilities shall include:

    • Propose and implement approved strategy for engagement with National Assembly members and officials.
    • Report intelligence in respect of developments in Government circles and the polity in general.
    • Develop and maintain cordial and professional working relationships with Chairmen and members of relevant House of Representatives committees and Clerks of committees, to ensure ease of access.
    • Develop and manage Database of all Key Government Officials to ensure prompt access when required.
    • Provide regular weekly reporting of all relevant Government activities to Government Relations Management.
    • Initiate preliminary lobby process under the supervision of management, on bills, motions and petitions that impact on company activities directly or indirectly or the Oil & Gas industry in general.
    • Manage relationship with other relevant Ministries for other Entities - (A cross functional support function).
    • Alternate with other Government relations officers to obtain and manage official meeting appointments for the Management at NNPC, Federal Ministry of Petroleum and thus providing unhindered access to the GMD, Chief Operating Officers (COOs) and management in general.

    ACCOUNTABILITIES

    • Under the supervision of the Manager Government Relations (Corporate), ensures a good working relationship between the Company and Government and sends early warning signals on Government policy that may impact the Company.
    • Responsible for coordinating and managing appointments for the Management with Legislature and Ministries, Departments and Agencies where applicable.
    • Monitor and ensure regular updates on pertinent Legislative activities during plenary and provide requisite analysis daily.
    • Establish and manage medium level contacts with Officials and Bureaucrats in the National Assembly, Presidency and Heads of Relevant Ministries

    QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

    • 10 years post-graduate relevant experience in the role and with good working knowledge of the Nigerian Oil and Gas Industry and Government.
    • Experienced Relationship Management and Lobbying skills required to relate with Government officials in all arms of government.
    • Professional Communication skills in managing senior executives
    • Excellent team player with demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Must be able to operate efficiently and effectively under pressure

    Senior Instrument Technician (Intervention Team)

    Job description

    • As a Senior Instrumentation Technician), you will be responsible for the maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting of instrumentation and control systems critical to the safe and efficient operation of the facility.
    • This role requires strong technical expertise in instrumentation, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a challenging offshore environment.

    Responsibilities

    • Conduct routine inspections, maintenance, and calibration of instrumentation and control systems including pressure, temperature, level, flow, and safety systems.
    • Perform troubleshooting and diagnostic tests on instrumentation systems to identify and resolve issues promptly, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
    • Coordinate with other departments such as operations, electrical, and mechanical to ensure integrated functioning of instrumentation and control systems.
    • Implement preventive maintenance programs to ensure equipment reliability and compliance with regulatory standards.
    • Participate in the planning and execution of instrumentation upgrades, modifications, and installations.
    • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, calibration reports, and inventory levels for instrumentation spare parts and equipment.
    • Provide technical guidance and support to junior technicians and assist in their training and development.
    • Monitor process parameters and alarms, implementing corrective actions as needed to maintain safe and efficient operations.
    • Follow established safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for oneself and the team.
    • Collaborate with vendors and contractors as needed for specialized repairs, spare parts procurement, and technical support.
    • Stay updated on industry best practices, new technologies, and regulatory requirements related to instrumentation and control systems in offshore environments.
    • Actively participate in emergency response drills and procedures to ensure readiness for any potential incidents.

    Profile

    • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Instrumentation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field preferred.
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience working as an Instrumentation Technician in the offshore oil and gas industry, with specific experience on FPSOs preferred.
    • Strong knowledge of instrumentation principles, control systems, and PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers).
    • Proficiency in reading P&IDs (Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams), loop diagrams, and control system drawings.
    • Hands-on experience with instrumentation calibration equipment, troubleshooting tools, and software systems.
    • Familiarity with relevant regulatory standards and safety protocols (e.g., API, ISO, HSE).
    • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
    • Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural team.
    • Physical fitness and willingness to work in challenging offshore conditions for extended periods.
    • Strong commitment to safety, environmental stewardship, and operational excellence.
