As a Volunteer, your responsibilities will include completing tasks assigned by the Supervisor, upholding the organisation’s values, and maintaining a high degree of professionalism with all stakeholders. You are required to arrive on time, follow instructions, and improve the overall operations of the organisation.

REQUIREMENT/QUALIFICATION

• Applicants must posses a minimum of B.Sc. /HND qualification.
• Applicants must have at least 4 years experience in their respective fields.
• Applicants must be highly skilled in Ms word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
• Applicants must be resident in Borno State or any close by town/village. 
• Applicants must be fluent in English, Hausa and any language spoken in the area is a plus.

Job Details

1. Lead the development of the implementation plan and monitor its progress.
2. Work with all supporting team on the project to ensure that their tasks are timely carried out according to the implementation plan
3. Develop quarterly reports and share with the specialist before the deadlines.
4. Perform all HR roles and responsibilities.
5. Manage budget of the project and ensure all forecasting, budget planning and financial report are delivered on time.
6. Monitor the Budget versus Actual report and ensure monthly overspent and under spent areas are not repeated.
7. Manage all external stakeholders on the project and ensure they play their roles as planned in the project
8. Manage the project officers’ performance and contribute to their career’s growth.
9. Lead monthly project review meetings and share challenges with the team for action.
10. Ensure that the implementing local partners carry out their work as scheduled and of the best standard.
11. Contribute to proposal development for all sector.
12. Ensure all assets of the project are safe and their information are entered into the asset register.
13. Diligently carry out any other task assigned in relation to the goal of the organization by the specialist and other organization leaders.

Job Details

• Implement protection activities in line with BOWDI’s mission and donor requirements.
• Supervise case management, psychosocial support, and facilitate referrals for vulnerable individuals.
• Organize community sensitization, awareness, and training sessions on protection, rights, and safeguarding.
• Monitor and report protection risks, incidents, and trends in the community.
• Work with partners, community leaders, and relevant stakeholders to strengthen protection mechanisms.
• Ensure adherence to protection principles, including confidentiality, safety, and dignity of beneficiaries.
• Support in developing and disseminating Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) materials.
• Prepare timely and accurate reports on protection activities.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in social sciences, Law, Psychology, Development Studies, or related field.
• Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in protection, GBV, child protection, or humanitarian programming (NGO/INGO experience is an advantage).
• Strong understanding of protection principles, human rights, gender, and safeguarding.
• Experience in community engagement, case management, and referral pathways.
• Good knowledge of Nigerian humanitarian context, especially in conflict-affected areas.
• Excellent communication, facilitation, and report-writing skills.
• Fluency in English; knowledge of Hausa, Kanuri, or other local languages is an asset.
• High level of integrity, empathy, and ability to maintain confidentiality.
